I'd love to see you use a Searing Flames build against a destroyer. See how easy it is then.

^ Arghh..tell me about. Had my dual SF Ele heroes pound away at them to no effect. Alot of WTF moments with that until I read they are highly resistant to fire based attacks.

I found GW:EN a bit to easy. I know its only a preview but still. In a content targeted for 'higher level players' as they said, we shouldn't be able to just roll trough it without even changing a build. I've done only 1 dungeon with guildie (Oreo=leet tank ) and the rest 3 with heroes&hench. There were only a few, lets say medium-hard' spots, but still far from anything really difficult. Anything not in dungeon was more or less "C + Space".

SF Eles + Winter FTW against destroyers.

Most of the preview areas seemed fairly easy, about on the level with Kourna. I did a dungeon run tonight with a friend and heros, there were a couple of tough spots due to tight quarters with several mobs that had to be negotiated carefully, but generally it was a good challenge - especially since my video card decided it didn't like level 4 (hard restart + reconnect[YAY] cleared it right up!!!)

Didn't spend too much time in the sneak peak, I found the difficulty higher than normal mode of prophecies, factions and nightfall. Lots of large mobs around in some areas, reminds me of the captured son quest in factions that was always a pain. Couple times I've had party wipes and 60% DP with heroes and henchies, notably during the charr quest when you first get to the eye of the north. Swarm of charr and new names make it difficult to select the proper targets. And multiple meteor showers and fire storms raining down gets extremely annoying, especially when the heroes and henchies remain standing in them side by side. As a warrior I was very annoyed with those mesmer monsters, always draining my adrenaline and energy. Nice that it's a new kind of enemy skillbar, but very annoying when they're everywhere. Norn tournament I found overly difficult. Expecting a single build to deal with different kinds of enemies. Expecting us to have a jack of all trades build is expecting too much. Can't possibly have a build to can handle a warrior one round, an SS necro another, conditions and hexes another, etc., etc., for all the professions.

Diffictulty depends a lot of the players..When you see someone spam local chat to find a PuG for frostmaws..telling everyone you need to have a few hours available while we did it in 45min or so.. it varies.. but ye, as far as the sneak peek went, it wasnt all too hard..then again, it was only a sneak peek ;-) let's wait to judge about the difficulty till the game goes live

I enjoyed the difficulty level. Going through explorable areas shouldn't be overly difficult and these were only the first few quests. The Norn tournament was very challenging and did you try any of the dungeons? They are fairly hard, especially the bosses at the end.

In my opinion, it was a good mix. It wasn't so easy that it's just boring, but not so difficult that it's frustrating. And the things that were more difficult were purely optional.

Play Without the armor until you finish it.

Thay play it in hard mode Without the armor.

Harder.

For me the difficulty is PERFECT. Not too fast, not too slow, not too frustating, not too relaxing.
Perfect.

I thought it was perfect too. The dungeons felt like elite areas for the more casual player. I'm sure later stages will be tougher and maybe there will be a hard mode somewhere down the line, but personally, the event seemed correctly balanced for my enjoyment. Those finding it "too easy" could try *not* taking 3x SF.

I played 5-6 hours per day (much more than I usually do) and only completed 3 dungeons and enough of the quests to get Jora. Plenty of content and plenty of challenge, IMO.

It's nice to be able to play odd, yet highly amusing builds, and still get through the game. Hard Mode and Elite areas are there for people who want to have a hard time playing one specific build which will only just get them through...

I think it's a nice level of difficulty.

Better than Factions, which was completed start to finish in about 10 hours on day 1. So if it took you 36 hours to go through the Norn only content, it's already longer than one of the campaigns.

i had the northen allies quest done in a few hours, yes it was easy, yes the preview was very smalll. It didnt take much longer to do all quests, boxing and tourments.

The game overall is very good though.

Every GW game is easy to beat with Heroes and Hench.

I found EOTN to actually be harder than the previous games.

That doesn't mean that EOTN is hard, though.

Yes EOTN is too easy, but less so than the other GW games which are too easy to an even larger extent.

They gave us party rez scrolls, party morale boosts... now one wonders, how dumb must one be to wipe in any area, including DoA, with such buffs?

GWEN suffers a bit from endgame power creep, typical for the last installment in a series.

But I like the overall impression, except this and the freaking HoM and the not properly evolving GWEN pets (dont grow, dont lose or gain hp).

I thought the difficulty was aout right. Outside of dungeons most things are fairly easy to Hero hench once you know how the mobs work. However even then there are a few places that are VERY hard if you're willing to try them (or die repeatedly until you wear it down) such as the Rabbit, Fenrir, or the undead circle.

Also i only started playing this month so i found the difficulty to be well tuned so that i CAN do some things in Expansion to justify buying it, but my charactor has difficulty with other things due to my incomplete skill set. Things like the Norn Arena or even the swarm Charr and Summit quests are EXTREMELY difficult for an "incomplete" 20.

It feels like it's got a fairly broad spectrum of difficulty depending on how complete your 20 is going in. I'm sure a heavily skilled and/or ascended charactor has a much easier time with some of these quests than i do. But at the same time i CAN finish most quests given enough time patience and planning, it's just more difficult for me.

I found the difficulty acceptable. It's indeed hero/henchable, but you can still run into trouble (1 good AoE spell and kiss those balled up heroes bye byes) and it provides a good enough challenge.

The people who want it to be harder should really remember, games are meant to be completed by 80-90% of the players so it can be hard but not too hard that Joe Average breaks his monitor with his fist on failed dungeon run #854. And of course if its soo easy you'll breeze through it in no time and you'll get HM and then you can give yourself that extra challenge.

Also you can also set your own challenges. Play with a party of 6 and not 8 for eg. Alot of people who are skilled at GW and want more challenges often play a class and use only the secondary attributes/skills for added challenge etc. I mean if you're that good a player in the first place you're probably a HA rat so what do you care gets put into PvE.

Just about right. Some challenge but not overly diffcult. Who knows what lies ahead in the full version. I'm sure there will be a noob filter or two along the way.

I completely agree with this statement. Only that got me really frustrated was when I got pwned by Magni a few times I felt better once i found the right build though
