but here it goes....

this petition is basically to counter teh changes that ppl want in teh other petition

first point i wanna make before i get into specifics is...
1 1/2 years ppl!!!!!
we have 1 1/2 years to pimp out our halls!
ppl r upset cuz they couldnt pimp it out over 3 days?!? (preview weekend)
hmmm...if we could pimp it out in 3days, wut r we gonna do for teh next 1 1/2 years until gw2?

1. account based

wut happens when u have duplicate heroes? and duplicate titles?
r u gonna be able to show ur monument of fellowship to have 5 kossy's?

my monuments would get so bloated,
i wouldnt have nuff spots to display everything i wanted
character-based gives me more space to display teh things i want
if they do decide account-based....then more space plz!
(unlikely unless they remake teh zone)

one thing i would like to see tho is access to hom for pvp charas! ^__^
ima stress this a lot thru teh whole thing...
but pve'ers r sayin they're gettin jipped from titles,
but pvp'ers dun even get access to it?

2. monument of fellowship

keep it to having required upgraded armour
its not really an achievement to jus obtain a hero -____-'

i would like to see their actual upgraded armour tho plz
and an exact way to specify which heroes u want displayed and in which spot
not a "rearrange statues" button that i have to click 100 times and its still now how i want it @___@

3. monument of devotion

its called monument of devoooootion ppl!!
not monument of trade h000rage!!!
devotion! love! comittment! u have to have these things for ur mini-pet
if u cant be willing to customize it, then ur not devoted to it

trading mini-pets jus to put in ur shrine is no accomplishment
do u really want a shrine that jus gets laughed at for havin no meaning or value?

4. monument of honour

lets see....pvp'ers get 1 monument
and pve'ers get 5 monuments...and teh pve'ers r complaining? 0__o
pvp'ers cant put their token-obtained high-end weaps and armour, can they?
(which btw, i think they should)

dun forget we have another year of grinding to obtain these ranks
and wit that glad pt system leak accident,
im sure they're rethinking a lot rite now and playin wit values
but if pve'ers were able to get champion title...
i think teh serious gvg'ers would feel less special and get pissed @__@

everyones wants to be a "god walking amongst mere mortals"
sowrie...it doesnt work that way,
cant be teh best at everything and have every single thing
ppl forget that title-grinders do jus that...work on titles, and not everything else too

5. monument of valour

well its supposed to show achievements,
and being able to put anything in there isnt an achievement

i would like to be able to see offhands to be customized,
and be able to put in offhands too tho
(im assuming everything needs to be customized in order to be put in)

6. monument of resilience

well yea, it should show ur chara
or at least teh same profession/gender
quite obvious, but i think anet jus ran out of time

ppl r jus forgettin that they have more than a year to pimp it out

Solid arguments look much more impressive when you use propper spelling, punctuation, grammer, etc....otherwise they just look like crap, in my humble opinion.

-- Seriously, its a personal question that no one else can answer. I want to see what i did in last 2 years show up on those damn pedestals. In other words, what you do for next 18 months is yours to think!

1. Account-based: my monuments would get so bloated," -- I would rather have a bloated hall than an empty one. Personally, I think HoM should have a statue of your characters that have reached there similar to the heroes.
2. Fellowship: "its not really an achievement to jus obtain a hero -____-'" -- Don't care about this wall personally. But, you are missing the point. You want to immortalize the heroes that help you get there where you are today. Not immortalize their make-up artists or designers.
3.Devotion: devotion! love! comittment! u have to have these things for ur mini-pet -- Devoted to mini-pets? Well, that sure made me laugh during an otherwise dull day.
4. Honor: dun forget we have another year of grinding to obtain these ranks -- Yep, that's all this game is trying to be a grindfest. And sure as hell, I won't grind in the halls or wait in vault for 50+ minutes to get r12.
5. Valor: and being able to put anything in there isnt an achievement -- No comments about that shrine as I don't think I care much about it.
6. Resilience: quite obvious, but i think anet jus ran out of time. -- Yes they did IMHO. We will wait and see.

So, absolutely don't agree to this petition. Good Luck!

While I disagree with some of the changes the other petition calls for, the HoM does need some changes. Most notibly in inclusion of PvE titles.

But for the most part I did not sign your petition because I dont want my name on anything that poorly written.

Account-based doesn't mean duplicates of everything, it means that if we don't have something on one character, yet have it on another (armor, titles if they fix it), then we can fill that spot in with another character. And if it's not making duplicates it's not gonna get any bigger than it would if you had all that stuff on one character.

Not everyone can get the kind of a big deal ranks even if they try hard enough? It's impossible to be the best, yet not be the best at the same time?

Sure, using an IM client has improved the typing speeds for many people. Feels like i just read something my 10 year old cousin would send.

1. Titles
Have always believed titles should be account based except survivor etc
2. Armor,
If left displaying the town in which the armor was obtained then make it account based
3. Pets
Leave customized for account not character

Those who only really focused on one character with titles, dont have that big of issue with char/account based. BUT the whole PvP titles is BS.

I agree with some, not others, the main one being that, please, continue to write any ol' way you want - the world is changing folks and as a Master Linguist myself I am well aware of the written rules for several languages - screw 'em. Nothing GREAT ever came from language rules.

A majority of the populace on the Internet uses shorthand and that's good to go; people who use shorthand are not trying to insult you by using it. Leave the "learn English" comments out of the thread and simply respond to the OP's petition. Most of the world doesn't speak English natively, but the odd thing is quite a few Internet savvy folks do indeed know English shorthand.

So, onto the OP's petition. The HoM is character-based. It should be. ANet has this to say about the HoM:

Your own personalized Hall of Monuments to preserve your achievements, trophies, and titles across all Guild Wars games, allowing descendants to reap the benefits of your character's fame in Guild Wars 2. (Underlining and italics added by me for emphasis)

YOUR own personalized HoM, which makes it clear to me that the HoM is intended and will stay character-based. YOUR CHARACTER'S, not your CHARACTERS' <-- possessive singular, not plural.

It says you can preserve your achievements, trophies and titles across ALL Guild Wars games, so this singular HoM WILL display your PvE titles and all high-end weapons from all campaigns (at some point) but it is designed for achievements. I personally want to HoM to display ALL titles with the max titles in gold and bolded and blazing with light.

Hero Armor: I don't want to have to fight for armor pieces to get my heroes into the HoM. Razah I believe already has the only armor set he can have (?) so I better get his Misty-arse in there without a problem! I have tried the hero armor missions - hours and HOURS over many many weeks and got exactly one. One! Some people get three or four in an hour. That's messed up. I consider the armor pieces akin to the Jade Quarry, a royal bungle on ANet's part that should be completely redesigned.
