Default 20-25% of Charrslaying Mods

I doubt that I am the only one but in the last 2 days prior to GWEN's full release I have seen a great deal of max Charrslaying mods available.

Not only did the fact that I have seen these for sale in quanties, which struck me as strange since I was not aware of any particular farming area for these, (we are all aware of the Armbrace Duping Exploit in the past), but also I was under the impression that "of Charrslaying" mods only go up to 20% extra dmg. Has this been changed?

Thanks for the feedback.

Oh, I'm also curious as to what the going B/S rate is on these mods. I have seen prices from 4k each all the way up to a whopping 65K !!

3 char carvings in piken square, you can salvage them off the collector items

They were nerfed from 25 to 20 a few months ago.

Well, the increase is probably due to EotN, since there are lots of Charr to kill there.

Not sure about max, nor about prices.

Kill some low-level Charr in Ascalon, until you have 3 Charr Carvings. Take them to the collector in Piken Square. You can get a sword or a bow with a perfect 20% Charr-slaying mod, which is SALVAGEABLE.

Do not pay more than 100g for a 20% Charr-slaying bow/sword mod.

25% mods (they stopped dropping a LONG time ago, I think)... or ones for different weapons... THOSE would be worth something...

Forgive the question, I should probably know this already but, since when have we been able to salvage mods off of collector's items? Maybe I have never tried...or is this the exception?

100g !!??

Well a warning then to everyone so inform your guildmates/friends, there are people who are taking advantage to those that are ill-informed about how easily these are obtained. I myself paid 7k for the pair of 20%, not knowing what I now know.

:-) I hate thinking that I got a good deal only to realize later that I was swindled.. lol.

They were the same collector weapons, but got nerfed earlier this year. Really stupid nerf, if you ask me. They should have just left them alone, made them available in GW:EN and balanced the Charr accordingly. What they did do almost seems designed to elevate the worth of the mods that were already in the game.

Fortunately, I'd already got a couple.

I don't know if there are any other salvageable collector's items... and I only found out about the Charrslaying mods when I was in the trade channel a few weeks ago trying to buy a Charr-slaying bowgrip. Some kind soul whispered me to tell me about it...

IIRC, there are rubbish (blue, non-max) weapons with perfect furious mods, given out as early quest rewards in Prophecies, that can be salvaged.

I only know of one, but it is not exactly "early." It is a reward from the Villainy of Galrath, which isn't obtained until Lion's Arch.

I've got some +25 v charr mods in storage - 5 for sword and 4 for bow, are they worth something then? Might help me offset what I lost of sup vigors, ecto and diamonds dropping.

That's the sword one. There's a hammer one from "The Siege of Piken Square" and an Axe one from somewhere else, I can't quite remember...
