If they do that then I really hope they change the 'all or nothing' pve skill system. There is no way to level up pve skills except for titles.

An example is to add a faction skill trainer to allow casual players to level up a single pve skill once by sacrificing a certain amount of faction. That way pve skills are accessible to casual players too, just at a very limited level.

I think Lineage 2 is the better choice for people with a high tolerance for repetition.

They effect others though. People will soon demand you take them.

The game is too easy now, and these skills just make things easier. An easier game means less fun for everybody. It is not a matter of what you enjoy, but what is best for the game that matters in the end. And allowing more broken overpowered skills into the game is that what is best. People play certain sets of builds for a reason. They are balanced and effective. People should not be forced into playing say some weird body shot - finish him build over say their traditional splinter shot B/P build.

Sure you can just do whatever by using NPCs but that is not how this game was meant to be played so it should not be made to be a single player game with AIM. The game is meant to be played with real people, and that is how it should be balanced. With this in mind, some skills should be limited to one per party to prevent constant abuse of them.

As for saying things are not overpowered now because we only got to play a bit of the game, means that odds are there are more overpowered things out there. If we can get a balance before the game goes live there will be less inbalance overall, and it will be a better experience for all of us.

lol exploit? did you think before you typed this?

its not an exploit. anet gives me 3 hero slots and 3 eles with an overpowered fire line (for PvE anyway). obviously im going to use 3 fire eles.

HOPEFULLY you were just joking though..

PvE skills are never imbalanced.
Monsters cannot enter Zaishen isles arenas.
Charr have their own portal to the mists, to get their tiger rank emotes, XD.

Hmmm...I remember this thread some months ago about a skill bar with overly uber PvE skills. If anything, those need to get nerfed :P

On a serious note, the initial starting stats for PvE skills should be relatively high, then slowly increase via the rank. That way lazy asses (like me) can use the skills relatively effectively, while the crazy grinder can lay down the uber pwnz leetness with a superpowered version.

Can we nerf Gwen's armor save for the chocker? Seems to cover too much.

IMO the PvP skills are a bit blah and I'd like to see them buffed or redone. Most of the monk skills for instance are just plain weird and useless as they are.

I doubt you have tested this, For I have. Dodge This+Triple Chop (3 Drakes grouped in a ward against meelee). The only one that did not block my attack was the drake that was targeted. Hundred blades will work the same, as well with barrage since you have to target a foe. The only one that might be different is Cyclone axe, since you just attack adjacent foes; the other skills you attack target foe, and adjacent foes. No nerf needed.

I'm not totally sure about the functionality, but I'm pretty sure the only thing that's extended is the duration. Correct me if I'm wrong.

CoH players took that mindset - their fix - 1 mass nerf - I have never seen a mass exodus that fast. Seriously - just because YOU think its less fun for everyone its really just less fun for you. The skills are strong, but im sure there will be elite areas where they'll be either less effective or will be able to help make things more managable. Dont assume that the balance wont take these things into account... Been to DoA lately?

Oh yes, cause we need to make the titles even more of a mindless grind than they already are.. idiot...

I think people should take a breather and take a look at those skills. The part where its only usable and available in pve only.

pve ... only.

'nuff zed.

Well...getting off the topic of nerfing skills, one of the main things i thought was unbalanced was the norn fighting arena. all monks and necros have the advantage of going 55/SS and killing anything. There was nothing that i saw that had any enchantment removal (aside from rending touch). I mean...I would say there was more stance removal than enchantment removal (actually I only noticed wild strike cause i play ranger).

I just think they could make it a little tougher with more enchant removal or even throwing in a toucher...like those in stygian veil DOA or somethin. :P

Engel I don't agree with you at all. I was perfectly exactly superbly happy with everything in GWEN except the HOM. And besides its possible to have 8 sf with a human party. SF has been nerfed twice allready which made me mad both times. Plus they enemies have armor of mist and frigid armor and there is an anti sf dwarf skill in case the enemies use it on you

Everyone knows that Searing Flames is just SOOOO over powered, what with its' 15 energy cost, 1 second cast, and 2 second recharge. Not to mention, the burning duration is only 5 seconds. Yeah, totally over powered. *rolls eyes*

Searing Flames has been PVP-based nerfed like 10 times now. I don't even run it anymore, since it just plain sucks now because of it. Savannah Heat is more ace, as they took away that scatter from AoE in easy mode script.

But yeah, everyone knows Searing Flames is just SOOOOO powerful, it needs yet ANOTHER nerf.

plz stop trying to have the game catter to you, and let those who enjoy these skills have a good time.

cheers.

Nerfing things are bad for your health! After 2 years of hearing the cries and screams of people about balance and nerfing it is getting old. For once can we all enjoy something without hearing those balancing/nerfing cries again ?
