I've lost all hope in this matter, sadly.

I'm not sure why you guys bother arguing with this joke. He's got to be about 12, or possibly a 'late developing' 13 year old.

its rly simple kid: dont like it - dont use it. if ppl keep asking for smth they prolly want it, and u cant tell ppl what to do and what not to do whining on forums isnt the great idea either

personally i support the idea of hairdresser npc, i doubt we'll get it anytime soon tho, but it would be nice to get a new money sink

My argument about the auction house? Oh, why it makes perfect sense. You're just not thinking at all. I'm not the type that enjoys acting up all negative to someone, but my god I just had to poke my head and say something. It's ridiculous. Do you wanna know how my sarcastic comment about the auction house relates to the subject of adding a hairstylist? The simple concept of convenience. We never needed an auction house to trade items, but why bother? For the experience to be simply more convenient, saves time. Why add a hairstylist? Because of the exact same reason, so we don't have to reroll if we regret our choices. All these features that you may call stupid, are being requested to make our playing experience better as a whole. That's all that matters.

That's a completely ridiculous comparison. To add an auction house the game would need a complete overhaul. I'm not going to go into the details again, but to say the least, the game as it is cannot support something like an auction house because of the way items and information is stored to each character. An auction house would require changing how all of that works. Not to mention how it would impact the economy. It's just far too late to add something like that into GW.

A hairstylist on the other hand is a very simple features that lets us change the hair of our characters. It would still require some work from the developers, but no where near as much as something like an auction house. I do understand why so many people want it in the game, but jesus. Some of you nuts need to stop bringing it up in every single topic. It's not going to happen, deal with it.

And once again, I'll point out the fact that how our characters look wasn't always our choice. Back when Prophecies was first released, we didn't have access to any of the Nightfall or Factions hairstyles. I for one don't want to reroll my characters just to change their hair, but it would be great to be able to use some of it. Using the "you made it so live with it" argument is flawed. If we could have used all the faces/hairstyles to begin with, for any character from any campaign, then fine. But we couldn't and still cant.

Would it really have a massive impact on anyone if I changed my warriors hair style? Or made him a few inches taller?

Honestly, what with saving the world from undead liches/evil spirits/forgotten gods, you'd think most characters wouldn't have time to sit around having their hair done...
- 'arrggh! the city is under attack from an army of demons! help us, heroes!'
- 'tell them to come back later, I've got me curlers in!'

This would be a perfect time to test the water in character customization for GW2.

Putting in a hair styler would be a perfect edition to the game. My ranger's long blonde hair is starting to get a bit tired, he needs a cut and a dye.

Looking to the future, the norn have tattoos and other characters have other body mods. So maybe they should look at installing a body modification feature in GW2. Theres nothing I would like more than for my ranger to get some ink and piecings done like mine.

Man that would be funny.Anyway people are bringing up this topic because they have nothing else to do in GW so they get on forms start non-sense topic of things that won't happen, but what can I do besides giveing my opinions and facts over and over again just to have people over look reality. But I ask Raven, Why have a auction house in GW when we have guru auction? Is it too much of a hassle to go onto the internet and look?

Ok, so I'm not Raven, but the vast majority of players do NOT read these forums, moreover these forums are not run by the game developers - because the GW staff care about their players some (if not all) of them check up on and contribute to what's going on and they listen to what we want. You can't please everyone, but they do a mighty fine job; however, if there were an auction house within the game it would make trading much easier (personally, I do not trade, I would rather be playing than standing in an outpost trying to offload my goods or pick up an item that I "must have").

I do agree with you that some topics are started about things that will likely not happen (this being one of them), but where's the harm in speculating? I would have to disagree with you about people bringing up this topic because they have nothing else to do in game. It's because people are really excited about GW:EN and they WANT to talk about it, but most of the talking we can do about it is based on speculation because we just don't know what's coming. If you think the thread is pointless or nonsense, you don't have to read it. If hairdressers are introduced into GW:EN, you don't have to use them - and for the record I think a hairstylist is not a useless NPC, it would create jobs for some of the peasants we see in the instanced areas - how can bringing pixcellated people out of poverty possibly be a bad thing?

You know 1 year ago I thought my assassin looked leet with the purple hair and all, but now I cringe when I look at her. She needs a hair dye makeover, now that she has every assassin skill in the game and titles, I just can't see re investing 200k plus items into another character.

Please ANET just the ability to change hair and color would go a long way.

I know, maybe they should take out merchants and storage. If you get a good item but you can't use it on your current character, just reroll and hope you get it again!

I don't understand these people that say we should have to "suck it up" and "deal with it." I thought games were supposed to be fun, not punishing? Funny thing is, these "purists" are the first to complain when a skill gets nerfed (omg my 55 monk so sad. :< )

Maybe in the HoM they'll let your Hero characters provide services for you.

Me: I'm looking for something fresh.

I have 5 main characters. My ele and my monk were rerolled about 6 months into the game when I became annoyed that 1) my ele looked like everyone else, and 2) my monk kept getting called Lina by all and sundry. My ranger was deleted due to liimited character space and was resurrected later as a Factions character. I've contemplated rerolling my rit. I've contemplated rerolling my ranger (again) because - though she was quite unique for ages - her hair style started to catch on.
My mesmer is the only one I've never rerolled, or contemplated rerolling.

To be honest, I'm happy with my characters. I'm not going to reroll any of them. Would I like a hair stylist? Yes. Would I use it? Not necessarily. What I would like a stylist to offer is not access to other hair styles of campaigns - though to be honest I can see how this would be easiest - but to offer NEW styles and dye to players, hell to make it MORE of a gold sink make it only temporary and we can have fun changing our style frequently. This is just how I would like it as (for me) hair style is synonymous with origin (nationality) of the character.

In many ways people who don't like their characters do have the option of rerolling - yes I agree it is a waste of time, but that is up to the individuals concerned. I don't see a hair stylist as a fix for that. I see it as an addition to give players something fun to mess around with. It would be amusing for everyone in a team to grab the same style and colour and sync dance, or do a mission, or just take a screenie.

Allowing a character from one region, like a Tyrian Necromancer, to have a hairstyle from another region, Elona for example, would allow for more uniqueness among characters. Locking a character's hairstyle to a specific region, say that Necromancer can change only into Tyrian hairstyles even at a Stylist in Elona, wouldn't seem right.

Of course for the campaign-specific classes, more hairstyles would probably need to be added.

That makes sense, right?

This is as easy as put a NPC somewhere, maybe in the main GW:EN outpost, and it will show you in a preview all available hairs in your account for your profession/gender (With available in your account I mean you will not see hairs from Factions if you don't have Factions, and so on) and that preview will show your character head with the selected hair/color, you click buy and done.

I bet it's uber easy developing that NPC, because somewhere is stored our characters hairs (a number), that NPC just change that number for another. This is as easy as change gender was in that day, remember? that day ArenaNet did a mistake: Showed everybody you can easily change appearance of all characters. They can go and change male to female, hair, skin color, nickname, everything is stored in an editable file. They can add a tool (a NPC) for modify that file, with a preview tool for easing things to the player of course.

Oooh, I didn't read that all the way through the first time. Oops.

Yeah, seems it would be fairly easy to do then. So why haven't they done it?
