note this official and not just a guess

it was stated that for very good reasons any and all GW1 to GW2 unlocks would be cosmetic and give exactly zero advantage over a new player who had a bare HOM or was new to the game completely.

everybody will get an equal start on GW2 so why the complaints?

if anything inherited gave an advantage i would be leading the outrage parade myself.

Just wanted to point out...

Sparda, first of all, you make it sound like we are playing WoW (or D2) with level caps that go up to 70, 80, or 99. We're playing guild wars remember? You are a essentially a 'power gamer' once you hit level 20, and you should know how easy that is.

Now assuming that EotN is really "much harder and harder", we have justification. 1.) if you don't want 'harder and harder', you already have THREE regular campaigns to play on. 2.) By the time your done with any OR all of those campaigns, I think it's pretty obvious that the game is almost too easy as a whole. Now you're complaining that an expansion is too hard? They're expecting you to know how to play GW right, which is another reason that it's a mere expansion rather than a standalone.

Plus, I'm currently enjoying EotN and I am no hardcore player. In fact, I'm one of the regulars who plays like once or twice a month, yet I'm still finding EotN a smooth ride. I don't have lots of gold, or lots of real money. I don't even have awesome equips. I'm still using regulars!

TBH I like hard, sure it pisses me off and there should be a way to skip the hard parts (Well you cant skip em but you make em easier with the consumables) but I was a tad dissapointed with Eotn, its not so much hard as frustrating, you die and die and die and just keep going and you cant really fail. I have been palyingf for approx 20 hours, am allmost finished (1 or 2 quests away) and have henched all the way, my heros have crap builds (apart from a mm) and its just frustrationg, HARDER I SAY!

Hit the 'C' key and the 'Space' key while there are enemies in your compass. You'll see what it is.

Tell me how is gw anyway close to being like d2. Below is not saying what is good but how they are different

crap items
eight skill cap
huge world
character are not set in stone

D2-constant grinding,limited skill selection and when you get sick of being something gotta remake a character and grind some more

And to the guy who posted this thread. gwen isnt that hard. you must throw axe hammer and sword skills together while using a scythe. or your heroes echo mend.

I wish this game was more like Diablo 2, last I checked Blizzard didn't go out of its way to stop people from making money in the game (I'm looking at you loot scaling). Also, since this is an expansion, I really was hoping that it would get harder, and I was kind of disappointed. The only thing hard about it is that in the Asuran areas the elemental enemies blind all the mele characters and your monks waste all their energy getting rid of blind, except that doesn't work since the elite they use to blind you has (I think) a 2 second recharge, but you can just keep throwing yourself at them and work your way through any area.

By that same logic we can say that gw is a grindfest for all those stupid factions and reskins. Oh and by the way, I rather have a smaller number of unique skills than over a thousand rehashed skills that are out of balance

Hm... D2, 90% of the things immune to a certain element, want a new element? Make a WHOLE NEW CHARACTER at level 1. Want a Tal Rasha set? Lucky you. The files on your computer are easy to modify. Make your own set! Might have been good at the time, but it gets old fast. Guild Wars has more variety and less restrictions.

guild wars is a little harder? The fact that you can have 7 henchies/heroes makes it a lot easier and not counting total immunity to one of your skill lines in d2 makes it infinitely easier.
