Strathpine store Loz, but I just got a call from my guy there and he told me he was given incorrect information, and the boxs will not arrive untill Monday.
"International shipping delay" is the official word from EB Australia.

Went to EB store at Knox City Melbourne and the guy said he'll get shipment on Friday around noon... most likely he's also a mushroom covered in the dark.

Well, that settles it. If Australia aren't getting in by Saturday the chances are next to zero that New Zealand will.

Gonna have to cancel my pre-order and use the money to buy it in-game. I guess at least this way I'll be able to get the bonus missions too.

I'd like to hear NCSoft Europe's story about what happened here, since that's where our boxs ship from.
[FakeRant]It's like bloody Factions all over again, and bloody Gallipoli, bloody English shafting the Aussies and Kiwis.
There's going to be an ANZAC rebellion soon. [/FakeRant]

Hear, hear!
Could a nice mod please change the topic title to NZ & Aus or something similar just so everyone knows this is effecting Aussies too.

I wonder if Anet would be so kind as to allow us access this weekend with the SneekPeak keys...

I spoke to EB - CLARKSON - WESTERN AUSTRALIA about 30minutes ago about my PREORDER of GW:EOTN.

GW:EOTN is EXPECTED to arrive at that shop on the 3RD OF SEPTEMBER.

Once again, AUSTRALIANS = 2ND CLASS GW CITIZENS.

have a nice day.

I will go to EB tomorrow and update this thread as per my findings.

It may prove to be a useful community resource for AUS/NZers if we posted our results here, too.

same store told me about it as well, i rang various other stores in brisbane and harvey norman stores, all said same thing, shipping screw ups.

and lucky us, with conversion rates, we have to pay extra 10 dollars to buy from online store with current conversion.

$50 aussie from instore.
$61.50 aussie converted from rrp in pounds

funny thing is, if we could convert from USA rrp....would be 48 aussie dollars...

gg anet for more screwing with aussies

My god, why does almost every damn game company neglect the AU/NZ region. Seriously, games get released here up to A YEAR later than those in the US, even though they are the SAME game.

I'm still going off to EB tomorrow to scab any copy there and If there isn't any, I won't return a happy person; that's for sure.

Unfortunately the reality is that we're not a large enough slice of the market for Anet or NCSoft or EB to care about.

Well this is just great, I thought Anet had fixed this problem after the whole Factions crap. Nightfall was released on time and I thought that Anet got it right and would continue to with GW:EN. Geez this really gets my goat when it comes to Australia and NZ getting shafted, I don't think a lot of non-Aussies and Kiwi's just realise just how hard done by we are. How can such an easy thing like having a shipment sent on time get screwed up. I mean it's just 1 day difference, what the hell?

*end rant*

Well, I can't say I'm totally surprised...

I could go on a long rant about why EB sucks and then why NCSoft Europe sucks. But hey, everyone knows why already.

[joke] Maybe they're compensating for the international date line favouring Australians and New Zealanders so we don't have access first. [/joke]

As someone who works in logistics I'm well aware of how things like this can happen. Bad weather can delay ships/aircraft, shipping companies can 'misplace' shipments, manufacturers/suppliers can have material shortages and so on and so on. The horse flu currently causing problems in Australia could have even caused a backlog in customs.
The possibilities are many and extremely varied, it might be EB's fault, it might be NCSoft Europe's fault, it could even be some shipping clerk thought to himself "Not much room left on this boat, stuff it, those computer games can go on the next one". All we know right now is that EB are stating 'shipping delays', I'd like to hear NCSoft's side of it before I start splashing around the accelerant.

*tries to stop from screaming*

I organised my entire working weekend so that I could pick up this bloody game, and now I'm finding out from this FORUM that I won't be able to play over the weekend which is the only time I have free? Even after I checked four days ago whether the game would be on sale tomorrow? Jesus. I'm going to go in anyway and ask if I can have a refund, just means if I buy it off the online store I'm going to be overcharged by about $20.

*sigh* I'm so over being screwed by these companies, just because I live in the Southern hemisphere.

With the disaster in shipping out faction's collectors edition they extended the preorders until the game could be shipped. Any idea what the chances are of getting the preorders in NZ/Australia extended until we can get the game.. that is if the game isn't in store by tomorrow..

Also, if I've got the preorder from EB's, and then buy the game online, do I buy it at full price or is the cost of the preorder automatically deducted? Sorry, not making much sense atm, just looking at alternatives to getting the expansion.

reread my post before....its an aussie wide thing (at least east coast) and its not just EB, its also Harvey Norman, and ive also recently found out its also some gametraders. i blame anet for not shipping it early enough to compensate for us.
