GWEN is worth the money and indeed a great expansion but yes there are things that probably should get fixed and probably will get fixed in later updates Anet has been very good about that. The only grief I have like you've already stated is the constant whining it's becoming a real turn off here to these forums but that's another issue. I see posts made about complaints, issues, ect. but if they were done in a more constructive manner they would get more attention probably and not simply seen as people bitching they didn't get their own way.

The graphics, story line, and game play were all top notch here in GWEN !

The thing that disturbs me most is that you can't say a single thing negative about GW without 50 people jumping on you. They insult you by calling you names then tell you real useful things like; get a life, go play something else, go away noob, etc. These forums are here for the purpose of discusion not insulting someone who has a different opinion than you. (Even the moderators do this from time to time, which really is a no no).

Besides all that I am enjoying GW:EN right now (though some parts are getting fustrating).

Welcome to Guild Wars Guru.

Steams me that this is the only major forum for Guild Wars, and its filled with nothing but Whiners and idiots, but we gotta deal with it, better than having no forum at all I suppose.

that's because stupid people complain all the time instead of appreciating a good game.
The difference between their threads and yours? Half of them give constructive criticism and are intelligent enough to hold their grounds with evidence to enforce their opinion.

So far YOUR evidence consists of: "Dey have no lief if dey beat da gaem dat fast". Proof? It's an easy game to beat if you know what you're doing and rush through primaries. You miss out all the dungeons, side quests and mini games that make the game more difficult and fun, but just ploughing through the story can beat a game very quickly.

Then I stopped reading after that. It's hard enough to read a "book" of 2 paragraphs, horrible grammar and spelling that even a thespian monkey could surpass, but when you talk out of your ass for the rest of it?

People will buy any game they want despite reviews on the game. 100 people could take the approach you just did, say "It sucks!" without saying why and it will be entirely ignored.

The good: scenery, storyline, and more intelligent mobs that actually force you to have a tank in your party.
The bad: the game goes quick...yes i understand it's only an expansion, but couldn't it be slightly longer?(btw i'm also juggling college, friends, and organizations, so i actually have a life)
The ugly: the reskins of armor, and weapons (tho i don't mind the weapons too much, since there's plenty of new ones...same thing goes for monsters...those dinosaurs are pretty sweet)

The game has great improvements and neat updates but also crushing faults and disappointing aspects that create a standard expansion. Don't expect anything horrible, but don't expect anything breathtaking either.

For the most part, I agree with the OP. GWEN is an extraordinary conclusion to the first franchise and its evident that a tremendous amount of creativity and work went into it. The value it delivers is so far beyond the cost.

With regard to the armor: I think it's at least as good as Nightfall. With regard to length: it's immense and much more diverse than anything Arenanet has delivered so far. I expect to be playing it happily for months to come.

I just completed the main storyline and got my endgame green. Notice I didn't say "finished the game."

Compared to the other three games, Gwen is light on storyline and heavy on end game content. I only beat the first 2 polymock quests. I only explored half the dungeons. I only brawled a few times with Kilroy. I only did a few optional quests. I didn't get enough faction to open one armor set. And I have nine more characters to go.

I see EotN as a great GW extender. It has cool mini-games, repeatable quests and numerous dungeons to keep me occupied for a long time to come.

Does it have as complex or as long a storyline as Nightfall? Does it have easy access to end-game armor? Will you be able to easily max out the new PVE-only skills? Does it have an incredible variety of new weapons? No, No, No, and No. If these are dealbreakers for you, you should save your money. Otherwise, come enjoy one great game.

yeah GWEN is a great expansion. My only criticism is that most of the armor sets feel rushed and don't look linear as a set. Mini games are great, I wish they let you play them against other players though!

GW:EN is pretty fun so far. I've been taking my time and just finished the Norn stuff a day or 2 ago and I just got done with the Ebon Vanguard primary quests yesterday but instead of going straight to the Asura area I decided to do a dungeon instead just to take a small break from just going through all primary quests. I'll probably resume the primary quests tomorrow or something. Other than that I'm enjoying the game while playing casually and not hard-core 24/7!

Ad Homin attacks (attacking the person instead of the issue) is a terrible way to try to win an arguement.
You are just calling anybody who disagrees with you stupid.

Oh, and note, I haven't even bought GW:EN yet so I'm not one of those people who rushed through things, etc, so don't just try to insult me to win your arguement too. k?

Well, Guru is a cross-section of the GW community. I don't mean to be cynical, but judging by the behavior of those in-game, it doesn't surprise me that its forums are filled with whiners and idiots.

GW:EN is quite good. Yes, I complained a bit about HoM, but ALL the rest is great to me. And while I played many hours, I'm far from finishing the game.

I'm maybe half-way or less through the storyline and I did not yet do may quests. I did the primary Norn quests in preview and I'm doing the Asura stuff now. When I'm further in game I'll do all the quests which have good rewards now (Ty ANet) and then I'll probably work on titles, armor, heroes and all the other extra's.

So, in short: Imo GW:EN is a great expansion with a few disappointments and bugs. You see many posts about the bad parts here because people want to have them fixed. This does not mean that GW:EN is crap. It's everything but crap.

Worth buying, imo. Not perfect and I did complain about HOM, when it first turn up. There're a lot of minor annoying little things here and there, it's not putting me off the game though.

I spent about 15-16 hrs last weekend alone, just taking it in slowly y'know, just about to do the ebon vanguard story line. You'll fine a lot of cool nice little touch in this game, graphics are just great, the difficutly is just right as well imo. Some PVE skills are just way over power, I love it.

Mini game are great additions, but the rank for the armor is just annoying, not that high to get but one of many stupid ideas in gw:en next to some of the armor skins. Heroes are ace, I can finally leave Koss in Istar with Melonni.

All in all a great addition, some people might not like it and will be put off by so many things in this game. Those who do like it and accept it for what it is, will find countless hours of enjoyment to be have. No monkey in this game though, sadly.

Yah agreed. OP is like,"If someone whines they are wrong, if they dont whine they are right, end of".

Stupid people complain. Intelligent people dont complain.

Hmm.

Well.

I complain if anything is wrong in the slightest. I do it all the time. Ive got free loads of free stuff as a result of it. If anything complaining is ftw as you get free stuff.

Complaining about GWEN will hopefully get some changes.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've been playing GW for 27 months now and this is by FAR the most fun I've ever had in any game. I've clocked thousands of hours, but only the last couple-a-dozen I really felt I was living a story. The artwork is amazing, the storyline compelling (IF you also bother to do the sidequests, which elaborate on the story a great deal).

The people that whine are just people that would've been crying at ANet whatever they released. Check the post history of most "whiners" and you'll see it's filled with negative posts about anything. It's just a vocal minority that is never satisfied or thinks they know it all better and they clog up the forum with their useless whines. Makes them feel better, just ignore them.

I'm getting my money's worth out of it. They've put a ton of neat stuff into it and much of it is just plain fun. (I followed the rabbit ) I think they upped the humor a notch, too. Hunter's pride quest, the comments of many opponents in the Norn arena thingie after a battle, and some of the characters are a hoot.

As for the negative posts, use your discernment to sort out which is "whining" and which is "raising concerns" and take them for what they're worth.

I've heard good things about it. I may get it. But again, I don't really have time to play anymore, which kinda sucks, but oh well.
