Please excuse the pun, but I think its clearly not a bug. Its quite a cool little monster quirk and maybe the sign of things to come in GW2?

It's happened to me a few times. It reminded me of the bit in Starship Troopers where a bug that appeared to be dead stabs Jonny in the leg.

Does anyone know if it counts as another kill?

Because it appears to be a rez, I doubt it. Someone else want to test it as I'm away from my gaming PC?

If you look at the names of the ones that pop back up again, I think they are called Mantid Diggers or something. I thought they went underground when low on HP and then poped back up again a few moments later?

As far as I could tell, no it doesn't. It didn't give me any more Vanguard points when I had the bounty active.

No, it does not count as another kill, I watched for it. I am pretty sure you don't get any more xp for it either, but I'll have to go back and look... But I'm just pretty sure I saw no more gain. Also, no new drops, so no "farming" that.

It's always the same body that died that gets up. I've watched the same corpse get up at least five times once. They get up with a small portion of their health and at least some energy, because they seem to be able to launch back into attacks, but I think that used up skills are still left in some sort of cooldown because they seem to not do certain things right off the bat... though I have no proof it's not just the A.I.

I've seen both the nymphs and the diggers get up... but never a queen... hmm.

It's not limited to just one from each group. I've seen at least two different mantids rez more than once. Was it just two groups in one though? Dunno, have to pay more attention to that maybe.

Overall, I think it's just what they do... a little annoying, but it adds personality to the monsters. Makes you think twice about them. They are easy to kill, but you could be left with a trail of squashed bugs coming after you.

I've seen this too! So far I haven't seen anything but Nymphs get back up, though. And usually there's another Nymph in spell range... maybe Nymphs can help each other out?

This is just the little bit I happened to catch from the limited perspective of a melee character, though.

I can confirm it's not just nymphs. I have slaughtered a whole group, had the bodies all greyed out, and still had diggers come back up. It's not reliant on there being others alive nearby.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a queen come back to life this way before. Slaughtered the group, moved away, and suddenly had a queen tagging along behind me.

I did wonder if they had dual professions and used Lively was Naomei at first, but no, I've not seen that. I'm voting with bug possibly. It's annoying at worst, since when they're "ressed" they never seem to have much health anyway.
