Hey all, I need to do this quest with my ele and I really could use some help.
I tried a lot of things already but i cant seem to kill the glacial before he kills me... -_- any tips from ele's whove beaten him or people with ideas?

I wouldn't mind getting some tips for a ritualist. My rit can manage to get a bit over half of his health away with spirit spamming, but that's about it.... he ends up running around too much, and brining crippling skills just lowers the amount of damage I manage to do.

for casters go me/ or /me and brig cinjure phantasm , crip anguish , cry of pain.. and try to run away from the spirits . he might get stuck if u make him follow you alot..

I beat it as war. Using Conjure Phantasm, Conjure Nightmare + Auspicius Inc. (mesmer skills)
The Griffon can be bugged at some point, and it and its spirits cant hit u, and u just spam degen. And wait...
I Think in other post there is a SS with the point where u can do it.

I used a Warrior, Grenths ballance and bugged him so only pain spirit was alive. Easy. Dead pretty darn quick. Hardest bit is trying to get him over to a bugging place.

Killed him on my monk using apply poison+burning arrow from the slope to increase longbow range even further and to stay out of spirit range. set some traps though as he was coming for me when his health dropped to around 15%.

Water Elementalist?

Be as the Ice Imp. Find a way to amp your energy supply up as high as it can possibly go... bring Mind Freeze and Maelstrom.... and just make sure he can't cast anything without being interrupted.

If for some unfathomable reason Maelstrom doesn't interrupt binding rituals.... well....

You could try going secondary Ritualist yourself and auto-killing his spirits as he makes them... or replacing at least one of them with Fury.
Sight Beyond Sight helped me kill him (avoided getting blinded) with my Assassin, but I doubt that would make much difference to an Ele.

Am currently trying to keep away from quests/missions guides to prevent spoilers and maximize GWEN enjoyment the first time I'm going through it, using my ranger.

Didn't know about this bug until I did the quest last night. Was using a common build (apply poison, burning arrow, savage shot, distracting shot, troll u, natural stride, with "I'm the Strongest!" added in for a bit of fun) and I was just doing "hit-and-run", analyzing what I'll bring to use against him the next time -- magebane shot? spirit killer skills?...

And suddenly he got stuck on a hillside! He even didn't keep any spirits up, he was just doing nothing, staring off into a space two feet in front of him

Pounced on the opportunity (read: bug). Took him a bit to go down but go down he did.

Ok, the Griffon doesn't have any self healing skills at all. All you need to beat the Griffon is Degen and kiting. Anything to slow the Griffon down, like cripple or Ice snares, helps a lot too.

I used Burning Arrow/ Pin Down to beat him on the first try.

I'm sure if you're an Elementalist you can use Ice and Fire to light him up and slow him down.

I beat it on my ranger pre-Feral Aggression nerf. Packhunter with feral aggresion and Heal as One made for a fun fight. Not as easy as degen but ranger needs pet assistance against that thing.

For Ele though, the water idea sounds really nice since snares are great against him. I was thinking Renewal would work on him but HP Recovery and him kiting would be problematic. You can also try to Obflesh+Sliver armor tank him.

I set my secondary profession to Ranger, equiped a bow, and used only 2 skills: Apply Poison for poison degeneration, and Troll Unguent for self heal.

As soon as he spams a spirit when he is in a corner, or randomly walks into a corner, he somethimes get stuck. That's the moment where you start hitting him with your "poison bow". In case of enemy spirits: step back and heal when necesarry
