Oh, I'm loving the assumptions, insults and sweeping generalisations thrown at those of us who don't like the way armour has been handled in EotN. They're not very accurate, though.

Armour expense - no problem, so long as there is a sense of proportion to other armours. i.e. Chaos gimmic gloves should not be more expensive than FoW. Spectacles etc should be closer to common armour in price.

Armour in a hard to reach, remote outpost - not a problem. Some would whine about runners, but that's always been part of the rich tapestry of GW, IMO (even though I never use them myself).

Uber prestige armour in an elite dungeon - no problem with that, either.

But crafters that refuse to talk to you until you've earned points - really pisses me off. It kills the credibility of the gameworld. Think of any fantasy movie, book or TV show - did the characters wait until the end of a snowy section before they donned their snow kit (or worse, go back later)? Should traders in remote, harsh places quibble over who's money they take? It's pure lunacy. Oh and I'm in my thirties, I've been playing games since the 8bit era and I've never seen anything like this, outside of GW.

People have been waiting a long time for this release - we've prepared our characters, we've saved our cash and farmed our materials - we *have* worked dammit. Accessible Norn armour is the least we could have expected.

Free??? Nobody has asked for free.

Technically... if you take a look at the average Norn get-up... I'd imagine they don't consider that gear a necessity at all.
And yes... people in harsh, remote places who don't trade all that much at all, DO quibble over who they choose to deal with.

You might not have noticed... but the Norn way of life isn't about selling fur-coats to tourists; it is about personal achievement.

Granted... they take it a bit too far.... given that on every single point-farming run I manage to get every Norn in the area to admit I have killed more than they have, and it takes a great many runs to get enough for amrour.... but still...
