In my opinion, it makes the armour more special by making it harder to get. Considering almost everyone here seems to hate the armour anyway, it doesn't make sense to complain about needing to grind to get it.
Let me clarify here. The armor looks so bad, that there is no reason to gain points or play the game to get it. With the $40 to get the game, my expectation was built up to expect a few things. Lets see how EON delivered compared to other campains.

Prophecies
Graphics = Good
Replayability = excellent
Quest timiings = excellent
Explorability = Excellent
Game Progression (hardness by area) = fair
Dungeons = fair
Price = $40

Value = Excellent

Factions
Graphics = Good
Replayability = Good
Quest timiings = excellent
Explorability = Excellent
Game Progression (hardness by area) = good
Dungeons = good (Kurzucks Warren is great for guild teams)
Price = $50

Value = Excellent

Nightfall
Graphics = Good
Replayability = excellent
Quest timiings = excellent
Explorability = Excellent
Game Progression (hardness by area) = excellent
Dungeons = very good (DOA)
Price = $50

Value = Excellent

EON
Graphics = Excellent
Replayability = poor
Quest timiings = poor
Explorability = poor
Game Progression (hardness by area) = poor
Dungeons = fair (and I am being generous on this one)
Price = $40

Value = poor

But we could debate this until we are all blue in the face. It is what it is. All I can do it let Anet know of my dissatisfaction with it. Let others know that it is not what they are expecting. Hope that Anet realizes that they are trying to make a WOW game out of GW and will loose the casual gamer in the process who will move to other things if GW2 is like this. I want to make sure that they know, as many others on here do that they are not satisfied with this poor offering.

I want to see GW succeed. They have done a lot of great things in the past. I believe they can in the future. Without feedback from thier players/customers the developers will believe they went the right direction with this and continue unless someone tells them about it.

If GW2 is going the direction of WOW, please ANET, let us know so I can start the search for a different game. I hated Anarchy Online, WOW and several others out there that I have tried for the exact things that EON introduced. I have done the grinding bit before in games and it is just not fun.

And one that I respect.

Please remember though, that you will only here from 1 out of every 10 people that have a complaint in general. The other 9 just tell 10 people not to buy the product. This is just a fact of life in any business.

Complaints are gifts if you can learn from them and make adjustments in the future. I have been dealing with the public for the last 25 years and have learned that if you listen to your customers, your business grows.

If I was a writer for PCGamer I’d give it an 80% [Excellent].

Pros: Beautiful graphics, cool new heroes and monsters, dungeons, fantastic story.
Cons: Necessity for grind if you want certain armors or weapons, HoM gets a huge thumbs down, way too short…even for an expansion.

EDIT> I forgot to mention that I seriously think they dumbed down the hechie AI. I played all the way through with Heroes and henchies and was really surprised at how much dumber the AI seemed.

Depending on the amount of advertising dollars you get, you would rate the game higher to keep the advertising dollars. I take all magazines with a grain of salt as thier bread and butter is from the people they are rating.

I agree the AI is off.

I do appreciate your opinion though.
