For depth, story, lore, immersion...

I can think of a lot of reasons to have 3 non-human races in GWEN, and reputation titles does not rank high on that list.

Well "look" there is nothing wrong with the need for ranks to get armor. The problem is earning the points. The Norn are fine, because I can speak from experience that earning Norn points are easy.

As for Asura and Drawf I dunno yet!

Ive heard that Vanguard though, is alot harder to earn because of limited bounties and creatures and quests!

In that case the problem isnt the need for ranks, its the way you earn those points. Anet needs to add more ways to earn vanguard points, and perhaps they need to improve how you earn Norn, Asura and Drawf points.

Just because it is hard to earn certain points, doesnt mean the rank restrictions should be removed! It means we need better ways and more ways to earn those points.

Make a petition to add more and better ways to earn points! But because GWEN is sooooo stupidly small, that wont be easy because you cant fit alot of content in.

Had Anet actually given us the a map the size of cantha, like they suggested they would, we might have had more quests and dungeons and ways to earn points. But they gave us a tiny, tiny, tiny game instead!

The issue isnt needing ranks for armor, its adding ways to earn those points. With any luck they will add hard mode to GWEN and that will give more bounty points!

I am getting concerned that feedback on EoTN is reporting very little story line, very few original items, armours etc and a substandard HoM.

If you consider that the price to purchase this expansion is the same as the original prophecies campaign, this indicates a really low value for money purchase. Expansion packs usually cost a lot less than their original games, so if I am getting charged the same as the full game, I would expect the same amount of content as Prophecies contained...

I skipped like all the pages of thread, read few first from 1st page so don't know what of these have been said but.. Stop the whining from armor title requirements. I got 30k dwarf points just doing the storyline + few dungeons. I got like 20k of the other points when i will finish the few dungeons im missing from my book.

The complaining about reskins are absolutely good, because I don't think we need to accept same pixel crap they feed us again. Perhaps the old armors looked nice, but who the hell wants bad looking reskins, srsly.

And, hardmode is unlikely to be seen in GWEN because of the expansion already being for 20 lvls, yea sure, 20 lvl henchies and heroes. You can do the game storyline with fullparty of henchies + heroes, Some dungeons or last storyline guests you may need a friend to make it more easier, but it aint still hard. After finishing The Great Destroyer I were like wtf, we started this battle, what 30 seconds ago? Jesus Christ guys pls, can you design a game that will be somehow challenging? Make somehow challenging areas??? If the endgame dungeon can be done with 2 players and 6 heroes, there is something wrong I think -.-

Wouldn't mind sticking her armour on my warrior either... but that isn't anything like an option.

The grind I couldn't care less about. It is less than the grinding I'm having to do for Lightbringer (for bonus against Torment creatures) and Sunspear (for PvE skills) points...... let alone the Friend of the Kurzicks title track (which I need about another 110,000 points to get to level 3 on, at around 4000 per full area wipe or 400 per FFF run). Compared to those... grinding my Norn title is a walk in the park (already at level 4 and will easily get to level 5 in another area-wipe or two). I'll probably max it out for an extra strike on my KoaBD track. Same for the Asura and Ebon Vanguard tracks I imagine, provided I find good point-farming spots. Not so sure about the Dwarven, since that seems a bit hit-and-miss so far for good farming locations.

And the armour?
I don't plan on getting a whole lot of it judging by the appearance so far. I'm not particularly impressed with it.... but then there is enough other good armour to choose from with the other three campaigns. I'm not really into the whole "collect 5 suits of elite armour for 1 character" thing. I don't have the funds for it. Grinding for cash isn't fun.

For what it is worth though, if I ever get around to it.... I might try re-skinning some armour myself.... making new textures for it, since that is an option now apparently.

Ok.... so Gwen is substandard.... but it is better than nothing and the dungeons are quite nice.
I do personally think that they could have made some parts of it a bit easier SO they had an excuse to put in a Hard Mode... but we make do with what we've got. Maybe at some point they will add a Hard Mode to it and tone down the Normal Mode (making it a complete joke, most likely).

And as for the addition of PvP content.... while on the whole I tend not to enjoy PvP, more things along the lines of Fort Aspenwood.... i.e. storyline-related demi-PvP... needs to be added. Desperately.
Give us PvP Polymock / Norn Arena / Dwarven Boxing!

My friend has only played for two days - couple hours here and there - and he already made Rank 4 (almost to 5) in the Asuran title just by traveling to Rata Sum and taking all the bounties along the way (he also killed everything in order to make some money and got a couple gold items). I'm not sure if he did side quests or other missions.

As for the Norn Rank, just playing through the storyline and taking bounties along the way gave me Rank 3 (halfway to 4). I haven't done any side-quests or missions aside from the 3 required ones for the Norn. But I have a feeling if I did do the Norn quests and missions, it'd bump me up to 5.

Haven't tried the Vanguard yet.

There's only grind if you ignore all the bounties. It's like the Sunspear Rank, kinda. Just play through and nab all the rez shrines as you go. Getting to Rank 5 should be pretty straight forward. As for Rank 6+... That might take a little work.

Her armor's not the only thing you wanna 'stick' on your warrior.

Jora's a big girl... Not really my type.
Too much of anything - even good - is bad for you. Or rather, is not as good as just a little bit less than too much.

So let me get this straight, you dont have a clue how hard or easy it is to get Vanguard points but hey, you heard its harder so its gotta be, right?
Actually, its not. I've gotten over 10K Vanguard faster then I got 10K Norn so please, dont give opinions on stuff you obviously havent got a clue about.

So this is speaking from experience then or is this more "I heard..."? People beat Nightfall on the first weekend too, as they did with Factions however after 6 days of intensive playing my wife and I have not even fully mapped the Charr lands and the Norn lands, let alone done all the dungeons.

Yeah, we get it, you want another FFF farm or House farm, god forbid players might need to invest something in the game..

If they had the option to trade faction to level up a single PVE skill or craft single piece of armor it would be nice.
It's the all or nothing accessibily that was added to types of content that existed in previous games without that restriction on it's access that disappoints me.
I do not like that PVE skill power is raised permanently and doesn't rely on skill points either. It's dumbing down the game.

I think it's clear that this product was a rush job. They needed to get it out so that they can get all of their resources onto GW2. I recall reading something about how it's going to be a skeleton crew on GW1 from now on so they can move the next game forward. Whichever issue gave us the mini-pet asura. I'll have to dig it out.

I was having an alright time until it dawned on me that I'm just about done with the game. I haven't even been all gung ho about it like I used to be. HoM is a total disaster. The journals you log your acomplishments in are a total rip off of Warhammer's Tomb of Knowledge... and watered down to boot. The Charr area involves a lot of running around for no reason during quests... I was hoping we were done with that type of thing. At least they are pretty.

It's not all bust, I am enjoying myself... but the game is WAY over priced. This is not $40 worth of content. It's to bad they already got away with it... again. Their business model does not require any more from us than to pay ONCE. If it were subscription... a low quality product would lose steam and die, but a pay once model needs you to just "give it a try."

My Warrior is a big girl too. ^_^
Not quite THAT big... but fairly big.
The only character taller than her amongst mine is Lon Zi... my elementalist... (see avatar on left).

But then Chae Soon could handle her just fine. Jora is a challenge worth taking. Whoever said Eye of the North doesn't have a Hard Mode wasn't thinking inside the box.

I agree on most of what other people say about GW:En:

- Too short (story mode is over before you start it, although its done well),
- Not enough armour choices (like you guys said most are recycled. The recycled armours should of been rank 4, whist a new armour was rank 5. Im fed up with every armour looking the same for my dervish - boob-tube, long skirt and sandals),
- Collectors are simply asking way tooo much!
- Onyx gemstone should be available for destroyer weapons from craters (could be a special crater who takes lots of other materials to craft Onyx gemstones),
- More key drops (fed up buying lockpicks all the time),
- A full magma/chaos set should be available (nice idea for it to work for all classes), Would of been nice to see more 'generic' armours from helms to shoes,
- Monsters levels should be lowered (slightly) and hard mode enabled,
- Would of been nice if ranks offered something on each rank, ie.
rank 1 - title skill
rank 2 -
rank 3 - Consumables
rank 4 - cycled weapons / recycled armour's
rank 5 - new elite armour's
rank 6 -
rank 7 - access to races elite skill
etc.

for the lack of 'missions' (nice places to group with people), character slot and a deep, lasting game-play we should of been offered a lot of choices in armour and weapons rather than re-textured items. The pure lack of content from GW:EN is shocking - especially compared to how big Tyria is and how many armours, weapons etc. where available. You cant tell me grinding a title is more fun than Tyria was!

What? Charged the same as full game? Gwen is RRP £24.99, most game shop selling them cheaper for around £19.99. £17.99 if order online from play or hmv. The earlier 3 full games RRP £34.99 each(cheaper now cus of discount and they all been out for awhile)

So, What're you talking about?

Jora's armor is nice, but I like the Vabbian armor for our warriors, or even the Obsidian for anyone who can afford it. I can go on and list all sorts of armors that I like or dislike...

The point I was trying to make is that what we like or dislike is entirely relative, they are personal opinions not necesarily shared universally. I for one, really like my obsidian armor, and it's a shame the heroes will never be able to don one.
