Praise Where Praise is Due>>
I'd like to thank Anet for creating such a beautiful and fun game.
My Personal Best Design Awards go to:
Dungeon: Cathedral of Flames
Above Ground Map: Arbor Bay
Gameplay: Seige Devourer mount (and ability to cross zones with it!)
... as well as numerous visual touches throughout the game, like the burning forest in Sacnoth Valley, the floating rock bridge (and great view of the waterfalls) in Riven Earth, and many many others...
I'm also finding that as you complete the main storyline, fully explore the countryside, try the games, and complete quests and dungeons, you "naturally" progress towards the rank amount needed to access consumables, weapons, and armor for the various factions. It's a nice way of rewarding your time, and doesn't require grind, which is nice.
Postscript:
If I were to change one thing:
-Enemies flash red when you hit them now (in GWEN only?). I think this was added so that you can see what you're hitting in the dark dungeons. Makes sense, and it does actually help there. But above ground it is unneeded and looks cheesey..like a pinball machine flashing. Perhaps simply keep the flashing for all dungeon instances, and remove it for above ground "daylight" maps.

I appreciate your opinion on EON.
Most are not agreeing now. All you have to do is hit a town anywhere in the game and listen. My guild is about 80% against for the ones that got it with the rest not bothering. 20% do like it though, so there are some. Most of them are on massive hours a day though, so the relentless grind for minimal skills is just part of the game.

Seracombi I have beaten the GW:EN all ready and i will tell you for a fact you do not reach the required title to see Armor the way to do it is by doing all side quests Or Grinding which Anet says they do not like to force people to do (ROFL) on top of primarys well for us vetrans who have been playing for years doing side quests is the oldest thing in the book and is getting really lame i mean lame

I was on the bridge last night, I thought it was just for atmosphere at first, but when I realised you could actually cross it, I had to take pics, its pretty cool.
Also Charr Effigys are pretty cool looking enemies.

thank you for this thread! about time for some praise for the visually most amazing game in the series, and just about among all other games too.
people rush through in 9 hours and say it's too short...do the side quests, 18 dungeons aren't there for nothing. i've done like 1/4 of the dungeons and already have the 26k dwarf rep i need, with no grinding involved, though vanguard rep could be a bit easier to get. this game is all about the side stuff.
oh, and i'd like to add one more category:
Best Storyline Mission: The Elusive Golemancer
The one where you have to go through Oola's Lab and find her. So much fun, with traps and puzzles. I'm honestly amazed how many people get stuck at the point where u get 2 worker golems to follow you onto the pressure pads...THINK for a moment, there's 1 already sitting there to show u what to do. I love the combination of fighting, strategy, and problem solving.

Every map I enter I'm amazed in some way.. I mean the scenery is beautiful and you can tell they put alot of time into making it look so nice. I wish they put half that effort into the foes or armour, but like the title says: praise where praise is due and the scenery is amazing.

Hi
Outdoor maps=awesome and fun, i really like them, and their pretty
Dungeons=overly used sections that make you get confused over which dungeon you are actually in, (although there are some cool dungeon bits).
also for everyone moaning about weapons just being reskins, check out the starfish focus, the great conch(shield),the rose focus, the greater sage blade, the destroyer weapons and many more, those things are AWESOME.
Just my take, although some things are the same, tehre are a lot of different new things.

i say we start up a counter argument using factions.
forget reskins...they have the same SKILLS! what is that?
as for weapons, 2 many new ones, all the nice skins were suddenly in factions which really messed things up.
but back to the topic, you missed the saurian scythe. now that is one awesome skin. and i don't think anyone really complained about the sephis sword either (even if it isn't new, us pve'ers can now have it which is nice).
the armor...ok, reskins for some, but if your money spending is twithcy, go get some chaos gloves and shut up. i found more in the game than just the armor.

Personal Design Awards
Dungeon: Frostmaw, because it blew me away
Above Ground Map: Burning Forest - you just can't get more atmosphere than that! No really, burning choking ash, can't breathe . . ..
Gameplay: Using the Charr's own explosives to burn down their house.
Armor: Highlander Woad, yes, thank you ANet!
Race: Norn

Yeah, I have to admit, the level and map designers did awesomely. The game play itself is awesome too. Pretty much all the complaints are about armor and weapon's, I've noticed.
But the level/map/game play (especially mini-game) designers deserve a raise or a bonus.

Eye of the North is pretty.... in some places.
Some of the new monsters are clever little bastards, although I consider it cheating, and due respect to A-Net for paying attention, even if it was to the wrong people.
And Jora = teh secks.
But that is it.
The armour textures are awful. The lack of new armour meshes nor even mix-'n-matching of meshes shows incredible sloth on their part. Furthermore, serious plotline and good story has been sacrificed in favour of trivialities and grunt-work.
I'll play it anyway though.
Something is better than nothing.... even if it is largely crap.
