I am not interested in buying or displaying GW:EN end game weapons. I want to display the weapons I have used (and still use) that have served me a long time.

QFT - I have many personalized golds that have various purposes for various builds I use. Those are my weapons not this flaming rock crap. I don't like HOT RODing my weapons. Your monument should be "YOUR" monument not ANets.

In an RP sense which sounds better:

A) A weapon that you plundered off a single enemy.
B) A weapon that can only be forged by one person in the entire world. In order to create this weapon you had to scour the land over gathering specific materials. You had to kill thousands upon thousands of enemies, searching deep within dungeons to locate precisely what this blacksmith needed to forge your blade.

On that note, tormented weapons should be added.

doesn't really make it high end now does it? i use swords and axes tailored to my tastes in terms of functionality and looks and while i can duplicate the functionality on Destroyer weaps i can't the looks and that is why i want to add the shields and weapons i've had with me through all 3 campaigns plus Eotn to add to my HoM. They served me well and yes they are gold, yes they are farmed. i did it purely because i wanted them and they look cool.

Collectors/white/purple/bonus items are a toss up. I personally don't think they should be put in there.

Greens are borderline when you think about it. From a lore sense, they seem to fit in the Hall of Monuments *(kill boss = monument to the person that bested/slayed the boss). From a rarity sense, they are all the same since every copy is an exact duplicate.

The sad part is the Destroyer weapons are not unique in the sense that they are just like those craftable blues with a bigger price tag. Another thing is that Destroyer weapons and Tormentor weapons are more or less the same so Tormented weapons should definitely be in there if Destroyer weapons are. The difference is Tormented weapons are not obtained through gameplay but through the elite areas, so that may be the rationale for not having them included in the hall of monuments.

On a side note, I want to put a Mallyx savagery banana scythe (if I can get one eventually) and wintergreen weapons in there...suits my casual gamestyle

In the end it doesn't really matter so long as the weapon has significance to the user. I doubt there will be huge rewards for GW2.

but comes down to exactly that. while the rewards in GW2 won't be great from the monuments it should still be the weapons the player wants to put in and not what the dev's think IMO. yes they code the game but without the players ie. income they would be flat broke and out of a job. so i still say you should be able to put in weapons you want because those specific weapons have served you well in your travels. also this thing of people saying only req9 yada yada may put in also utter bs. some people prefer higher req weapons. while req lowbie is nice that;s normally other people who use a secondary class to that weapon ie Mo/Ne using a Milthuran's staff. the req and stats should have nothing to do with the weapons the player wants to put in. Eg.: Player McNewb finds a req 11 Fiery Gladius with max damage stats and is inscibeable and loves the weapon to death and uses it permanently from there on but due to a req 9 only restriction in the hall of monuments. that will create even community hate and thereby further reducing the use of hall. so in closing it should be up to the player ie. owner of said account to decide which weapons and offhands they want on their monument and not the community or anyone else.

but i agree with captain herbalife actually...display anything you want, possibly even with the option of adding a little bio to that weapon that everyone can read when they click on it. that way you share whatever you want about whatever weapon you choose to display.
Serpent Axes have less actual value than Destroyer Weapons. The high value of Serpent Axes is a completely player-made value.

After so much effort being required into getting tormented weapons, surely ( seen as we are supposed to be rewarded for 'our investment spent in GW' ) then they should DEFINATELY be included for show and recognicion in gw2.

The main reason i bought EotN was purely for the hall of monuments , and new skills, to have the hall have so much hype and then so many flaws to be found is disheartening :/

The destroyer weapons cost 10 diamond and 10 onyx gems which you can get from dungeons plus crafting material and 5k which makes them alot easier to get then lets say a req 7 perfect item whatever that might be. You're right, not many people have R8 weapons, let alond R8 rare skins.

The only one I have myself is a 15(-5) Req 8 golden phoenix blade. I got the sword for 60k, but thats because a guy felt really horrible after selling an item to some one else after I was the one who won the auction. Ah well, I didn't get the original item i wanted, but it worked out alright.
