I'm the same as Malakai, I was hoping to see something better on the weapon and armor displays. I've used the same Greens and made my own unique looks with the ascended armor that I've been happy with.

Surely ANET could let us display what we like, then it would be our choice if we got the bonus in GW2 or not and could always put the destroyer weapons on the monuments shortly before GW2 is actually released?

I think it should be changed to accept a list of skins from various campaigns with only basic requirements like must be max damage & must be a rare drop.

so anyone with an eternal shield, tormented weapon, stormbow etc can add it to HoM. running the weapon with all its stats may be too complex but working on rarity and weapon skin alone should be easier. I for one know i wont be getting any destroyer weapons.

I'm alittle annoyed at this, Because the number 1 weapon used by my elementalist is a Firestaff Collectible from southern shiverpeaks You get it in exchange for 4 frigid hearts.

And yeah... I then put on it a +20% on enchants aswell as a +5 energy. So it's basically the same as rago's except for the skin which is that of a standard tyrian fire staff, this is important because I've had this staff and have been using it LONG before greens were even released as a concept.

When greens came out and pepole were asking many more plat than I had for Rago's staff and I had mine I was pretty smug... But tragically 2.5 years of service means nothing I know it was optimistic of me to think that would matter.

Obviously Eye of the north and hall of monuments is just about the "PAHT LOOT" and nothing about the long term commitment pepole have made to the Guild wars franchise like promised. ¬_¬

I'm confused as to how the game considers the Destroyer weapons to be greater than the endgame Droknar's weapons, or the greens dropped from the bosses at the end of each dungeon. I think they shoudl make the greens dropped from the bosses alot better than they are, better skins and stats than everything else, and make them the Valor monument trophies. Screw the craftable junk.

I refuse to pay 100k+ just so I can get a weapon in the HoM (yes, I can afford it, and no, I don't care if they're linked to GW2). They're no better than what I already have and, IMO, aren't even as cool looking. So, unless Anet changes their criteria for Valor, it's just going to be sitting empty for me.

I'd have to agree with those that are saying they'd rather stick their personal favorite weapon into the monument rather than the destroyer ones. I've got a few weapons which really reflect my characters and hold a bit of sentimental value. And even if the only thing it did was allow a character in GW2 to display them (rather than use them, as some are saying that maybe the destroyer weapons will be available only through GWEN and not reskinned in GW2) I'd really like to have that attachment to the descendants.

If they do change it, however, so that any skin can be 'transported' in useable form to GW2 through the HoM, they'll reopen the can of worms known as 'transport my character too!'. So if they do change it, it would be nice if those sentimental weapons would be display only(as we don't know if any will be useable). Because a fresh game should get a fresh start, instead of everyone pining over what their old character had.

Slightly off-topic: Even foregoing the whole debate of whether or not skins like tormented, etc. will show up again in GW2, I think it's an interesting move to have any benefits linked to the HoM(whatever those benefits end up being). Because one of the things the HoM does is guarantee that if you want those benefits in GW2(and if GW1 is still active), you can go back and buy a campaign plus GW:EN to get those benefits. Which should net enough profits to keep GW1 up and running for a while, as well as ease the financial burden of GW2's startup.

But that's just my two cents

It does strike me as being ridiculous that the only weapons they count as being good enough for the HoM are destroyer ones. They just seem to want another money sink. I'm very happy with my current weapons, and don't like those skins, and I'd rather use the weapons I've used to complete the games in my HoM

Yeah, the monument says somptihing in the lines of "See here the weapons of [youre characters name here], whose legendary deeds will never be forgotten."

It dous not say "See here the never-used weapons of the legendary hero, whose true weapons have been lost because of the strange actions of a devine power"

I too find it a bit appaling that i won't be able to put my r8 15^50 Furious Chaos Axe of Fortitude on the Monument.
That axe has served me throughout the 3 campaigns and by gods, to me it's the best looking skin so far.

I don't like this either. Once I heard about HoM all those months ago, ALL I wanted to put in it to bring over to GW2 was the Willcrusher that I have played with forever. Not the best stats, but really darn cool. I love what it looks like and its name and everything, I could care less about Destroyer weapons, and hope they change this monument eventually.

Destroyer weapons are cheap to get. They made dungeons bosses often drop Onyx Gemstones and Diamonds. Over time, because dungeons you gonna see that Onyx Gemstones and Diamonds become cheaper, if you don't want actually earn them via bosses (price gonna rise but eventually, it become cheaper like Jadeite).

That's total BS - they need to accept other weapons than just those. Bleh. I'm not paying that much for a weapon that isn't that great when I already have plenty of greens and other awesome skins.

The whole "destroyer weapons" only issue is craptastic.

If they would at least have taken pains to produce some fantastic weapons, but most destroyer weapons look awful.

More like idea/concept sketches than final versions. They have fine artists, but that should not stop them from realizing that they miss more and more the mark, most people simply hate most of the new GWEN armors.

The Hall of Monuments is also still very. Seems they again ran out of time to implement one of their ideas properly.

Right now the "Destroyer Weapons only" is a somewhat lazy solution.

But who thinks they will not sit it out and simply not bother to change it, like changing favor from a questionable system to another questionable system after 2 years e.g.?

IMHO the most "Impressive" implementation for this would be to allow the Destroyer weapons, but also allow the character to register a single weapon of choice which gives the char a customized "<Charname's> <Weapontype>". This would basically be a "Green" weapon which is a direct copy of the weapon in question, but reskinned and named after the character's 1st name. They could have a few skins availible to choose from (using different crafters), or if possible retaining the original skin.

Yeah, the Destroyer weapons not only look mediocre, but how the hell are these the "greatest weapons"? I mean.. wouldn't the Primeval items/armor be the greatest items/armor since you get them after defeating a GOD?

since obviously you (and all those others) did not understand or were simply wishful thinking i will explain politely.

the HOM

will not transfer anything physical it will unlock something of *their* choice in GW2 so you will not get that skin/item/etc even if they allowed you to put it center stage.

the HOM will not transfer anything that will give you an advantage over a completely new player

the HOM will not allow you to transfer money *in any form* to the GW2 side

this includes the *unique unlocked minipets from the GW1 side* which will be customized to whoever inherits them to prevent someone having the equivalent of a GW2 PANDA and getting rich from the start

the only intended use of the HOM is to set aside the items that ANET NOT YOU decide will have some counterpart unlock in GW2

the only thing it is actually being used for until GW2 is literally come into my hall and admire me

HOW LONG UNTIL YOU SEE THIS ...........?

LFG ADMIRE ME AND MY HALL SELF INVITE........nobody?

MAYBE GWEN WILL LOOK

GWEN?

I DIDNT KNOW YOU KNEW LANGUAGE LIKE THAT......A SIMPLE NO WOULD DO

I KNOW .........JORA!

OUCH MOAN SCREAM OK SORRY I ASKED

JORA: never anger a NORN

LFG ADMIRE ME IN MY HALL WILL PAY 50G

100G?

250G?

I KNOW I WILL ADMIRE MYSELF ..........VISITS HALL........AHHHHHHH

OK well perhaps game economy for the most expensive weapons are a bad judgment value, but surely not only are tormented/hoh only weapons worth more gold they certainly took more time to acquire than say the weapons that are currently displayable.

Destroyer weapons are cool but i would rather display my Tormented weaps/HoH only weapons over them ANYDAY.
