DING! Too true.

I understand a lot of peoples response to this thread as -- what do you expect, use more keys.... ur right - prolly shouldn't be complaining about the loot so much -- as a whole i think GW:EN is a beautiful game - love the storyline, overall very happy.

But my main argument is and always has been -- lvl 14 and 16 bosses = less than max items.
groups of lvl 28 bosses..... == at least max white items.

oh and i do salvage all armor and what not to come my way -- just not weps generally. Lately salvaging such low armor/weapons is yielding 3 tanned hide squares and 3 iron ingots.... etc. etc.... woohoo.

I don't expect golds every 5 steps..but I kinda expect it to be at least on par with the endgame areas in all three campaigns that lead into this story. This is supposed to be the end of the line...instead it's like you're supposed to be at level 20 by the time you reach LA in proph, KC in factions, or Kamadan in NF and immediately do EOTN first. That doesn't go with the story though, and it's quite upsetting. Once you beat EOTN you get an epilogue that says you go on to do many great things blah blah blah, storyline events like the scepter of orr come into play "before" the actual proph storyline, etc.

If not golds, at least make the rest of the drops worth something. 50gp max for a white drop.

Not impressed.

You've cleared whole maps without getting anything but whites...but have you at least cleared maps with one or two golds and a few purples? Some rare materials? bunch of high sale value or highly salvageable blues? I'm talking about beating EOTN, playing through every area, clearing quite a bit, and getting jack squat.

they scaled up the drops in the preview, got people posting their uber Q9 platinums and what not on this site and others, jumping into LA and other cities selling their awesome new loot for 100k+ecto, got the people who didn't want to be the eotn beta testers by buying the preorder to go out and get the full version right away just to scale the loot back down and say HA FKN HA in our faces.

Im not really here to complain about the lack of golds or whatnot because i still find that sometimes ill have good luck and othertimes ill have bad luck. Just gotta go with it and hope for the best. But i am going to complain about the stats of the drops.

I personally find it very disappointing to have gone out and bought an expansion with high end content meant for level 20 characters and STILL the drops aren't at least max damage!!?? Come on Anet, surely you can do better than that? *sigh*

I can just about understand non max weapons dropping in higher level areas in the 3 previous stand-alone games as theres always a chance you could use them on lower level characters you might have (however unlikely ) but like i said in an expansion aimed at level 20 characters its just disappointing.

On the bright side though dwarven axes for all!!!!!

My main character is R4 KoaBD, with R4 Treasure Hunter. From my experience with chests in GW:EN so far, the drops are noticeably sub-par. Though I have a 54% retention rate. I save somewhere between 25-33% of my lockpicks (50 used so far). Most of the chests are purple as well. For example, I ran Frostmaw's Burrow and Raven's Point consecutively and I managed 4 golds in 15 lockpicks. Now, my standard for poor normal mode chests was Kurzick and Desolation chests which produced about 66% purple. The drop rates in GW:EN are certainly pathetic. So much so, that I'm refusing to play PvE until the developers actually finish this game, make allegiance titles maxable, and institute Hard Mode. There are a lot of things that infuriate me about this expansion, which is supposedly for high-level characters. 1pt bounties, terrible chest drops, rehashed armor skins, completely ignorable PvP skills, and non-maxable titles just lead me to believe that this game isn't complete and that I shouldn't waste my time since the rewards aren't worth the effort.

Chests killed the drops. Areanet seems to expect people to use these chests as the only means to getting gold items. I don't like the key system, and I never will.

i seen 2 gold items NOT max dmg drop from end dungeon chest in 1 day. 1 was a bow and the other was a staff. my friend who got these was very sad. i've also gotten a gold staff with 18% skills recharge instead of 20.

i'm sorry but when u finish a dungeon u'd at least expect ur items to be max dmg. doesn't need to be uber skin but when u keep getting crap like this something is really wrong. i suspect there's a bug, just like the lack of destroyer core drops. it's probably gonna take a while till anet fixes the drops too.

I just got a diamond shield from the white mantle bosses chest in Slavers Exile and it was Req:13. /13/ for petes sake and thats supposed to be the toughest dungeon.

3 of us cleared Frostmaw's dungeon with some heros the other night.

At the end of it I had 8 purple items, 2 gold and one Diamond.

Sounds good, save for the fact that 6 of the purples were non max, one of the golds was non max and the other was from the end chest and was an offhand( req 13 ) that was little more than merchant fodder.

5 of the purple and the other gold came from locked chests, in that order.

I actually do not believe I've even seen a max req9 blue item drop in all of GW:EN.

Quallity over Quantity...PLEASE!!!!

I decided to give the drops another go tonight, figuring maybe, just MAYBE, my luck has just been bad lately.

Well needless to say I'm convinced now that the drops in GWEN just plain suck.

Earlier today I was farming in Elona (undead). After a few runs (maybe an hour total), I had 5 golds (all max, though mostly high reqs), and a bunch of purples (max and non-max). After selling the merchant fodder, I had about 6k and some nice mods.

Went over to GWEN to see if I'd have similar luck. Bought 10 lockpicks, and headed for Frostmaw's. All my picks broke after the first use (50% retention? Like hell...). NO golds from the chests. Nothing even worth keeping (anybody need 7 "Show me the Money" inscriptions? -_- ). On the third level I saw a gold drop off a monster...Greater Highlander Blade. Paydirt?!? Not quite...Fiery of Defense, req13, crap inscription. Managed to kill Frostmaw. My reward...2 diamonds. 3.4k....woo-freakin-hoo. -_-

Bottom line for me is that if I want to make loot/gold...avoid GWEN. I dunno if it's because so many people are doing GWEN at once (Which should not be the case, as Anet said that that doesn't effect drop rate. But then again, Anet said a lot of things.). It's pretty clear that there's an obvious (at least for me) difference in the quality/quantity of drops between GWEN and the other chapters. GWEN = Hard Mode play with Normal Mode drops.

I agree completely. I've gotten mostly whites, always purples from locked chests with the pick breaking, and the golds I've gotten were always the Measure for Measure (highly salvageable) inscriptions. And I hate those the most, because with golds, I never know whether to salvage them at a chance for rare items, or replace the inscription. They seriously need to fix that since GWEN is designed for level 20 characters.
