Default Blackpowder & Vael (fanboy cheer thread)

So, I don't expect much response or this thread to last long in the views, but I had to say I enjoy running around with that two most interesting creations from ANet's secret dungeon lair; the Blackpowder dwarf and Vael.

Blackpowder is that character that looks like he stargated over from WarHammer, and carries around wonderful incendiaries. He was a pain in my arse during the Heart of the Shiverpeaks because he was bugged (causing me to smash my keyboard), but afterwards he now appears when I go out of a Nornhold. He'll give me as much blackpowder as I can handle for 100 gold, and doesn't get killed as he follows me around.

I love to carry one of those kegs over to a group of baddies, drop it and let it go boom! I think the most damage was about 50 per baddie AoE, but it works nicely. I got swamped with a bunch of Jotun's who wanted to smash poor Lina into a pulp, literally standing in a circle rhythmically laying their clubs on the top of her head - I ran over with a blackpowder keg, and in seconds of that thing going off the little buggers turned tail and ran! It was damn funny to see their ugly backsides scared stupid(er). Lina is survived by her secret lover, Mhenlo, by the way, and flowers would be appreciated (and conveniently tax deductible).

As for Vael, having him pop up at random places to join your party is awesome. He gets killed a lot, but has that odd ability to just rez and come running back spouting nonsense - usually about being beat with the librarian sticks and about being hit in the head with a frying pan. But hey, when he pops up, he's a welcome addition. Thanks Vael. Come along anytime man.

Default who is the biggest BS'er:

Vael

or

The Great Zehtuka

??

my vote: Vael. If Zehtuka tries to out-BS him, Vael will simply stab him and vanish.

Vael wears fake eyebrows to make himself look menacing, versus Great Zehtuka getting scared of lvl 5 lions. Vael ftw.

Blackpowder needs to run closer to Cyndr so we can spam powderkegs. Who's scared of a 90 foot worm spitting fire? (that is Blackpowder isn't it?)

Yes, Blackpowder does need to get closer. My bug during that mission was that he appeared to be standing at the cave entrance, but whenever I clicked on him to get a keg, I'd run right past him to the center of the cavern - and a keg would instantly appear out of thin air. Well, one keg exactly, just the one the entire time. I think the game thought he was in the middle of the cavern, but his visual was back in the cave opening.

Yea, for me he was actually standing about 50 feet from Cyndr, and inevitably most times I would run to get a keg from him, Cyndr would notice and hit the freggin crap outta me as soon as I picked up the keg. Blackpowder is a badass, though, as he didn't even flinch when he handed me a barrel of explosives only to have it immediately blown up in his face by the impact of a flaming meteor shot from the mouth of a giant worm. He gladly handed me another. Thanks, Blackpowder: Invinci-dwarf.

Vael = Captain Osric (Pre-Sear)?

I like his quests, and isn't unbearable like Zehtuka.

Actually, I think that Vael might be one of the best best written characters in the game... he actually has character.

The fake eyebrow info from Vael reminded me a character from Fooly Cooly
