Everyone complains about getting nothing but purples, or high requirement or even non max damage golds. But another isssue thats bothered me for ages is...how chests tend to be geared towards...mages and warriors, and with mages mesmerer's in particular. I rarly ever seem to find any stuff for my ritualist, and very few focuses.

Anyone else find this?

To be honest I have the impression that some 50% of my chest drops, while playing on ele, are scythes & spears. Lately i even got some perfect mods there, but then thying to sell them takes ages, so in the end it all goes to merch anyway...

Well we all doing chest runs outside of hardmode, wouldn't that be the reason behind the crap drops?

Remember the good old days before Hard Mode? When you could still get golds from chests that the key cost 1.5K for? It's not like we are opening shiverpeak or elona chests here... most of what people are complaining about are from the 1.5K Locked Chests in GWEN.

It seems the game has suffered in a way from Hard Mode. Chests at least have suffered. I hope this is one of the things the fix soon in a future update. Would be nice to see.

But hey, maybe the state of the game has changed and the only way to acctually get anything good is by going into Hard Mode? I was under the impressing that Hard Mode was for people wanting a greater challenge with an even greater reward. I didnt thinking Normal Mode players would suffer for it o.O

Why don't lockpicks drop in GW:EN?

Thats worst thing about the drop rate that you don't even get the keys back from foe loot

Im a r4 treasure hunter and i admit i spent some plat on lockpicks for GWEN and im surely dissapointed, i can get drops that are equal/better from chest running in the jade sea area, and thats saying something as factions do not use the inscription modifiers!! Actually i still have 200 jade keys in storage that i need to use up, shame factions chest dont spawn inscriable weapons

Why should the chests be any better than other normal mode chests?

Lockpicks have a greater chance of being saved in normal mode, so it pretty much evens out with buying regular keys 0_o... If you want good chest drops go to a hard mode area, if you want to up your lucky/unlucky/treasure hunter title, bring pix with you to EoTN...

You're right, I very rarely get ritualist or assasin equipment in Nightfall and Eye of the North, which are the only campaigns outside Factions for Urgoz, and the Deep that I bring lockpicks to.

Yeah, thats kinda my point right now. I get tons of assasin weapons, but they tend to be white/blue, rarley if ever from chests.

I've noticed my drops from chests being rather odd as well.

It seems to go in themes. Sometimes I get a bunch of caster stuff when on a run, other times I get alot of Paragon/Dervish loot.

it seems to me that Ranger/Warrior loot is the rarest of the rare. Only happens oh so few times i get items of those nature.

Not only that but since HM it seems the rate of purples in NM has increased. And amount of Golds I get in HM is just insane.

It would be nice the drops were more diversified across all 3 campaigns for all professions, and also the chances for gold drops could be a little more increased for normal mode.

But as for GWEN and the lack of HM and only locked chests there, thats way FTL. Untill thats fixed I don't open anything in GWEN.

Sure you got a better chance of keeping the lockpick. But you got a much less chance of getting a gold, and you're completely shut out of getting an Elite Tome ( which is how I make all my money back =P)

And from what i did open in GWEN I got a bunch of purple daggers that weren't even worth identifing since they weren't max damage.

Learning the hard way is hard to take sometimes, lol

I've found something odd. I hardly ever break a lockpick after I've had an 8 hour or so break. But after playing for a few hours I'm breaking almost every single lockpic even though I have a 60% chance. Kind of want my rank 5 treasure hunter but if I just farm chest I sware my 60% chance is no longer taking into account. I've broken 12 pics in a row with a 60% chance... so...?? Farming points for the shake of getting treasure hunter points, I think the Secret lair of the Snowmen wins for sure.

I've had a guildie get 10+ in row with a 40 percent chance. It's fixed I tell ya.. fixed.

Oh and for 1.2k (to 1.5k) chests they sure are cheap on the golds. At least when you get a nice rec 9 it's always modable

I've gotten 2 lockpick drops in EotN, one in a dungeon, one not.

You know, I think people tend to believe they get more "mesmer crap" then anything else, but that's just beause mesmer stuff has no value at all and never will.

I think lockpicks don't drop much/often, because normally they are meant to only drop in HM I think.
