I really dont get why people complain. People who own factions only don't complain when they're owned by enemies in AB using NF/Proph skills...people who own Proph only dont complain when they come across an Assassin or Paragon in GVG. Unfortunately you get what you pay for :P

on a slightly friendlier note: It IS unfair that you see these mobs using these nifty elites you cant access

It would also be unfair if you COULD cap them...i paid for all 3 campaigns...i expect to have access to more things than those who havn't got all campaigns

ANet might get the odd complaint or 2 about not being able to cap skills from a campaign they don't own. Imagine the complaints they'd get if they allowed everyone access to Factions/NF/Proph only skills

The system they have in place is the lesser of 2 evils.

Makes sense.
Not.
But they did pay for it. The elites are in GWEN and the OP paid for GWEN. The OP could buy Factions, not play a single moment of it, and then would be allowed to cap the elite. Asking to be able to cap Elites available in GWEN (that he paid for) won't change your playstyle or belittle any accomplishments on anyone's part! ANet opted to include Elites in this fine "addition" to the GW universe. It won't make him better by having it unless he knows what he's doing, and if he does know what he's doing then he deserves to win a lot.

Really what most people are saying is that they think ANet has the right to require a customer pay for a campaign in order to garner Elites or Titles originating in the module. They do in my opinion - it belongs to them, and that's all it comes down to - ANet wants you to pay for a campaign even though they allow you to totally skip that campaign and cap Elites elsewhere in some other module that you also paid for.

I'm hoping the OP will buy Factions - its a damn good campaign and well worth playing just for that reason alone.

What a pile of bull...
You want to know what skills he bought when he bought GWEN?

And have a nice day.

Oh, and this wasn't a secret. People knew what skills will be in GWEN before the release.

I would have to disagree, it is a good campaign to own, but not overall a good campaign in my opinion, it rather lacks in comparison to the others.

I am on the fence here.

If an Elite skill is found outside of its original chapter then it should be a core skill, cappable from any boss that uses it.

On the other hand GW:EN is not a chapter but rather an expantion, that being the case the Elites being used by bosses should only be Core elites to begin with.

But hey, its not like this is the first time a Monster in GW has decided to cheat

Let me guess, you will want to cap monster only skills next?

If gwen foes only used core elites then the difficulty would drop considerably. Just because they use certain skills doesn't mean you can.

it's a possibility that anet allows players to cap skills in GW:EN when they don't have the campaign that have them. after all, one of the biggest reason why GW high level pvp is stagnating right now is because new players need to essentially buy four full price games in order to be competitive. perhaps this will happen six months from now, but i don't really have too much hope for it.

This should be expected, you didn't PAY for Factions, you shouldn't GET the skills.

Closed.
