Also, there are no monster noises. What you're hearing is either the grunts of the dwarves or one of you're heroes/henchmen.

This seems like the best answer here...especially since it only happened to me once after that quest. I can try it again and see if they've returned, but I doubt it.

OK there is nothing.
I just checked and there is nothing behind the rock.

Look this video that I made to show the “monster” noises.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...35349630&hl=en

You still can hear them but I think, as Curse You said, it’s just the dwarfs there.

Sorry for the speculation, but it looked suspicious.

By the way, what is Budger Blackpowder good for in that map?

Budger is there for during the quest to find the Nornbear and kill it...there are barricades in your way that are not there when the quest is inactive.

I don't know why you'd need him there otherwise.

I have completed that quest on 4 characters so far, and never used Budger for ANYTHING. I too am curious to his purpose.

Find the Nornbear? How odd. I never had to use anything but my own skills to find the Nornbear plus the Totem Aspect. Budger appears after you do a quest by a dwarf who is having a hard time with a certain noisome Jotun, which has nothing to do with the Nornbear.

Budger is good for blasting mobs - beyond that, I don't know if he was intended to have a specific purpose. It certainly isn't needed to do the Nornbear quest.

Curse You is spot on. The miners were not there during the pre-view and only appear after doing the quest entitled "The Big Unfriendly Jotun" obtained from Undrath Blastrock in Sifhalla.
It would be nice but is only wishful thinking.

Why not. After all, Dragons awaken and are totally unfriendly to everyone else according to the PC Gamer special.

It could also be an unfinished quest.

All I heard on that was the dwarf going "HRUH" or however you want to describe that sound, making its usual grunting noises

Am I the only person that read the article on the PC Gamer web site about GW2? It states that there are sleeping dragons all over the lands. I bet it one of those just like the monster under the ice is. And we are not suposee to be able to get to it or see it until it is awakened. But until this time, if by any remote chance someone goes get it blasted open, please tell us how. And while im at it, has anyone found anything for the little dworf to blow open for us? I sure cant find anything.

Considering I completed that quest on 4 characters and NEVER talked to Budger, I'd say he isn't there for that quest. If it is simply a 'fun' way of clearing the area, why is it only in that area?

I'd say Anet either hasn't put his use into the game yet, or he has none.

There's a mission that you get in battledepths that is assinged to you. You have to clear a secret cave of the stone summit. These where the ones that tried to attack King Jalis and in retaliation, you get the quest to clear the cave.

This mission is a followup of "Attack on Jalis Camp"

The misison name is "In the service of Revenge"

You need to clear the stone summit from a secret cave in Drakkar Lake.

Possibly you might be reffering to this cave. And the cave would not be available until you have the quest.

That "cave" isn't what this thread is about. >.> They're even on opposite sides of the area.
