No, and we don't have to use PvE skills at all, but they were given to us to use right? What kind of "rebuttal" was that?

people complaint that it's a grind to get to higher ranks to use PvE skills when it's only been 4 days. No one is suppose to be at rank 8 in only 4 days. No matter what you're trying to get...

Time is time, whether you invest it all in 4 days or across 4 weeks. The bottom line is that if it feels boring and like a grind, it is. There is no incentive to put in the MANY hours needed to rank higher. This is why so many people are complaining. Is not beyond you to accept that everyone isn't milking Anet's teets like yourself? Some of us have different opinions and not all are happy. I give credit where it's due, the scenery art design is beautiful, but there are MANY things that need a major overhaul which is a pretty bad sign, right out of the gate.

Although of course it anyway makes up for unimpressive graphics per se with such excellent art direction and map design - it's a pleasure to explore.
There are only 4 of them I believe (2 in charr territory and 2 in asura territory). 5 if you include the polymock arena.

But other than that, they should have used it more. Art direction is one of the few things that I enjoy about GWEN.

Of course, time is time indeed. I'm only at r4 and it didn't feel like a grind to me because I play at my own pace. I'm concerned with people who make it their top priority to reach top rank in such short amount of time. These competitive nature arises when they spot a few players reaching r6~7 in the same amount of time when in reality they're just a few kids at the end of their summer break with nothing better to do...

This need to get "high rank" so quickly is sending people out there killing the same monsters over and over again in hopes of achieving it. This is where the majority of the "boring and like a grind" feel comes from. Other than that, if even the quest itself feels like a grind, then it's an entirely different issue one that has nothing to do with reputation points. Because as far as I know, being at r4 has been fine and dandy for me.

The scenery is fantastic. Loved the waterfall in the Asuran lands by the rope bridge.

I have noticed a lack of good drops from the locked chests. Basically almost all purples with 1 gold and the purples are often not max or with bad mods. So I've stopped carrying lockpicks. Too expensive for not very valuable items.

Nothing to complain about here. Far more enjoyable than any of the previous games in almost every aspect. Yes, there is some amount of grinding for certain things, but not for anything important. It was much worse in Factions/Nightfall were you were required to reach certain ranks to progress with the game. Here, you only need the high ranks to gain access to armour. Not a big deal, in my opinion. It means the armour is harder to get, and more unique.

And once again, I'd like to point out that I'm rank 4 in most of the title tracks, and I haven't been doing any grinding what so ever. Maybe you guys who flew through the game and missed most of the quests, dungeons, etc should go back and explore a little.

Nightfall was a lot of grind. Without a couple ranks of lightbringer the latter levels were real hard. Titles aren't bad in GW:EN. Still, it angers me that Anet is giving in to the grinders. Let them go grind for a piece of bone. They will shout and scream and appeal to the almighty about the lack of "incentives" and "rewards," but at the end of the day, they will grind for that piece of bone, for grinding is their nature.

The problem isn't time, it is content. There isn't enough CONTENT to last you to rank 8, leaving one option- grind grind grind! Anet said since day 1 that they reward skill, not time spent, for power. These guys are gaining power because they spend time grinding. That isn't right, it isn't Guild Wars. If the skills had no rank impact (like unlinked skills) or were capped at say, R5, there wouldn't be a problem... the problem is that right now, people with no lives are gaining a statistical advantage over other players simply because they grind more. It is that type of gameplay I bought Guild Wars to avoid and because of which I will probably NOT buy Guild Wars 2... we will see.

Other then that one issue, GW:EN is the best game anet ever made and makes PvE fun for once. Amazing job.

I disagree in some sense. GWEN is fun, but it turned out to be far from what it was supposed to be. After you have beaten GWEN, and the dungeons, then what? This game in their words "for lvl 20 characters, so you can have end game content and development" Umm no development, umm what content? The game is still fun and beautiful, but soooo many reskins on armor, monsters, weapons, and no insentive to play afterwards. How can they expect everyone to play this for another year and a half? I would of been happier if they would have taken an extra couple of months to add in new armor and new weapons and character development.

Which has 3 possible endings and will take you less then 50 hours to complete for all 3 endings with not a single thing left to do after that.

I love Bioshock, its an awesome game but its nowhere near the value of GW.

It's great, very frequent cinematics, the missions are dungeons, which kind of makes it feel "less instanced" rather than going into some mission waiting area, all these hardcore players just going RESKINS MY ALREADY RARE SKIN WEPS JUST HAPPENED AGAIN OMG WHAT WILL I DO WITH THE 24 hrs a day i spend on GW" dont listen to them, its the best game yet and i'm finding it a load of fun, but you really have to think about your own, and your hero builds, or you will FAIL, lol
