For starter, I felt this quest Heart of the Shiverpeaks is poorly design that close enough to say that force player to find PUG to complete this quest. I suppose someone were able to kill it without PUG probably die many time in the process though. I just wasted 2 Powerstone of Courage on my mesmer character trying to beat the Cyndr, eventually my henchman and heroes ended up with too much DP again to complete the quest.

This quest mainly this boss is the most frustrating monster to beat, having to run around 3 times to drop a keg next to the Cyndr is unreasonable requirement for going solo on this quest, about the time I dropped the 2nd keg next to the boss, half of my group was already killed.

Anyone have good method beating this boss with heroes/henchman?

run and drop the kegs next to him i did it with full hero / hench team got him about half way down on first go because he spawned so far from budger blackpowder then rez at the shrine outside the dooand killed him on second go with 15% dp

Degen - rangers with poison work well as it's armour ignoring so his health drops even with the armour up.

hexes like insidous parasite/backfire don't work anymore after the update.

hero with [skill]order of the vampire[/skill]
and bonder hero [skill]life barrier[/skill][skill]life bond[/skill]
with 2 or 3 physical damage dealer (warrior/ranger/paragon/dervish)

and it will go down fast.

My method of killing Cyndr is to choose 3 heroes by a random process, and choose 4 henchmen by a random process, ensuring I have 2 monks, or other form of healer, then I set off to get to Cyndr. When we reach Cyndr I flag the henchmen, hero 1, hero 2 and hero 3 apart and run for explosives, stopping only to pound the old girl when she's weakened.

Very little strategy is needed with heroes and hench, other than flagging apart so if they do get hit by pyroclastic shot it doesn't hurt all of them. When you're running exposives you can usually dodge Pyroclastic Shot also. He was frustrating the first time I ever did it...but as with anything in GW, the more you do it, the easier it gets.

Flag the heroes & henches so they won't be standing next to each other, give them room. This way Cyndr's attck won't hit the team as hard. Degen, SS, interupt are all good. Run back and forth for the keg, repeat if he goes underground.

I had SS nec, blind bot, prot monk, devona, mhenlo, cynn and sho for my team, myself played as a ranger.

lol wut? You're all wrong. All of you. This is how I won with Heroes/Hench ONLY.

I had 2 Paragons, Necro, 2 Monk hench, 2 Ele hench. I was getting owned trying to run the kegs, and all but 3 of my team died. After they res'd up, I flagged ALL 7 OF THEM in 1 spot, well away from me, off the lava. Cyndr spammed his stupid skill, which LoD easily countered, I ran the kegs, and made sure that I had my heroes DPSing Cyndr as soon as they could. Easy as pie.

I'm just saying, Mhenlo can EASILY deal with Cyndr's ranged attack with LoD, so there's no need going to the effort to spread them out. Just flag them somewhere off the lava and it'll be fine.

Provided you can get that fetcher's armour off with a ceg.... put Pain Inverter on her just before she lets loose the pyroclastic on the entire party. The damage should be utterly ridiculous.

The craziest thing is I've never even fought her myself.... I pass on second-hand information, which means it is out there for you to find if you look for it.

Apparently there has also been an update to prevent ceg-spamming when Cyndr spawns near the dwarf.... which sucks.

Ward Against Harm made this easy. Keep the bots in the ward and set up a LoD monk to heal the damage that does get through.

It's much harder on your own to run the kegs so it's strongly suggested that you find a partner with a running skill to help because H/H are too dumb to carry kegs.

Dark Escape is nice too, if a bit slow. ^_^

Both times I've gone against Cyndr Mhenlo and Lina were enough to keep the party alive while I ran the kegs while they sat in Herta's wards. One time I had two necros and a paragon hero, the other two warriors and a dervish spamming enchants on my warrior. My warrior's group took a few deaths naturally as my paragon had access to TNTF.

Isn't that a Sunspear PvE skill... i.e. unusable by Heroes?

This is starting to smell fishy... kinda like when someone said before that their Rit hero was casting Sight Beyond Sight on them.

I'm sure you've just neglected to mention something though. ^_^

His warrior group took deaths, implying his paragon group did not.

His Paragon has access to TNTF. His warrior does not, hence his warrior group took deaths.

When he took his Paragon through, it was easy due to TNTF. But when he took his War through, it was harder due to NO TNTF

There are many ways to kill Cynder.

I never used any hexes or degen, pure dmg from my war with a MM adding more damage. Earth nukers added some extra bost to take him down very fast.

The key here I find with hench/hero teams is where you flag and how fast you can run the kegs. Some key interupts also help to mitigate the dmg from his attacks. Keep your heros spread out away from the clump of hench that cant be spread out.
