The only problem with AoM is that if you die once, you could have a DP problem with your energy level to use AoM again.

That's why you bring a staff with you. So long as you don't repeatedly die too often, that energy boost will be enough to get you into Melandru.

Dear Fendi Nin, please make yourself useful by burning yourself to death

Took me a while to pull him out from his minions.

btw, Ogden is a smiter and Vekk is a nuker.

I was fighting Fendi once upon a time, and he took off running way passed the bridge. It was the most random event I've experienced in GuildWars thus far. I may have a screenshot around here somewhere...

Too bad we can't start from Gadd's. But still:
Mesmer (that's me!) is Holy Wrath Signet Smiter with stuff like Signet of Disenchantment, Ether Signet for e-management and Mantra of Inscriptions. 3x Mo/Me smiter (Signet of Judgment), Prot + Heal Hench + Herta. Set heroes to Aggressive, call a target and watch undead hordes dying in front of you. 4x 126 AoE damage + afterspike (;d) from Bane/Castigation Signet is FTW!
Or get one tank and smite to death anyway, even safer, but since heroes or henches can't tank...

Well, since this dungeon is so smiteable. Perhaps when hardmode comes out this can be dual farmed with a 600 monk and SoJ smiter? Oh the possibilities.

I tend to set up Ogden as a Melandru's Resilience - Draw Conditions Monk, along with various other Prot skills.
Then add a Motivation Para hero with Song of Purification and Restoration Aria/Balad. Combined with Mhenlo, they work pretty good, though I have to admit I haven't tried the dungeon outside of getting through to Gadd's Encampement.

Actually you can start out from Gadd's if you want. You just have to clear all the way back to the other entrance of the 1st level of the dungeon and pick up the female ghost that gives the quest. Then the door to the dungeon lock to the 2nd level will open.

I actually prefer going from Gadd's because I don't have to do a run through the jungle. You end up fighting the exact same amount of mobs in the 1st level of the dungeon. It's just that you fight them in the reverse order until you reach the ghost. Then you just run back through the area you cleared.

[skill]Heart of Holy Flame[/skill]

Should not be overlooked for a Derv, warrior, or sin (Holy dmg for 30 sec with no investment in attribute points)

Also as mentioned earlier [skill]sand shards[/skill] Its good to be blind

Gotta Love the Pve Only skills, allows for anyone to be a smiter. For all you rangers out there this works like a charm. Build is in Screen.

[IMG][/IMG]

You really dont need Smooth Criminal, But its helpful for disabling the more powerful spells. Honestly, I would have brought a more expensive spell like a summon becuase I had plenty of energy.

BTW I took an above posters idea and pulled the boss into the fire. Killed him fast and I only had 2 party wipes due to my error of not flagging the heros so they all clump up and got owned by Feast Of Corruption. Also Make sure the heros dont Kite into the fire traps! GL.

Default Wow

ya know i banged around this dungeon a few times and was constantly wiped by the rediculous AOE and blniding. Then i cam across this thread and used the OP's idea. simply made ogden and dunk as smiters and talkhora and menhlo as healers. Used zho for interupts, talon to hold aggro (sort of) and i went water snares. deep freeze frozen burst shardstorm blurred vision etc. worked first time through. it is kinda funny to watch when the hero hench monk work it out just right and all the foes die instantly lmao. anyways good load out. thanks again.

Cronk "ninja Cloud Strike" Target foe is struck for 19,22,25 dmg and is dazed for 6 seconds. lead attack WOOOT

wow i cant spell!!!! WOOOT

I took your idea but i have an ele in EoTN not a ranger so instead of serpents and dirt i brought glyph of swiftness and blinding flash.

Is it true that fire damage is super effective against undead/zombies? Says at bottom in notes section on this wiki page:

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Shards_of_Orr

Cause if fire is super effective sfing or dual attunment fire spiking would rock here. Especialy SF because you could set up energizing wind and you never run out of energy.

P.S. How long does it usually take everyone to complete this mission?

Well, as for the fire damage I remember hearing that fire damage does 50% more damage against undead but I'm not sure about that.

As an elementalist I would bring other higer energy spells, like a summon or and possibly drop a smiter for a puller, since I used my ranger and it could be risky using you elm unless you have armor buffing skills.

It took me about an hour but I could have done it faster if I didnt have a nasty wipe when I lit all the tourches in the second floor and that huge spawn occures. Also to echo what others have already done, PULLING IS KEY.
Pick off any warriors and wizards that wander to far from the healer and then the rest of the group is easy. GL

Just spike the group with SoJ when you run up. They are already balled up. No need to pull.

I really don't understand these threads I mean, as if PvE isn't easy enough, including dungeons! on the wiki page for this dungeon it TELLS you the hero / hench setup - i took that, pulled carefully and cruised it first time. I see the same threads with Cyndr.. like wth!! That boss was a joke, i went into that mission not even knowing what to do and took cyndr down in a minute or two.

Careful pulling isn't hard. The perfect build is on wiki, so why people throw builds around on here hoping it works i have no idea. People should just stop the whining and learn how to play the game.

Yea, sure i did. Judging whether or not i can do it based on your inability? Walkthrough + TEAM BUILD SHOVED IN YOUR FACE + basic pulling = win win win!
