Angry Attack to the Stronghold, HM

I can't beat that mission.

I'm an ele, I've tried blinding, burning, degeneration, etc etc... even when I'm VERY lucky and can kill all seekers in the sides, one always respawn, and finally they kill every triceratops that goes to the door...

I'm gettin really mad.

Any help?

Bring a monk hero to enchant the dino guy. I'm sure if he has life barrier, life bond, guardian, SoA and shield of regen on him he'll be good.

hehe i had some trouble with this at the beginning too. Kept mullering all the char that spawned endlessly and going round in circles.

then we all died & got ressed on the other side of the gate.
after that it was my turn to muller.

my advice is take charge firstly of the devourers, order them to attack the gate or w/e. then allow your team to die and respawn on the other side & start wiping em out bit by bit after that.

you shouldn't have many problems & the group of charr in the middle by the gate that the crazy overgrown minipet tried to knock down are thick, they just stand there or at least they did for me.

hope this helps, good luck!

oh and i was a tank with the 3 necs & 2 healer hench, cynn and the mes.

this will sound really ridicilous but we (2 necros) had to take 4 monk heroes and 2 ele heroes with us to do the mission..

But it did work and thats how were able to clear it..

It helps positioning the Devourers at the gate archers.. then just let them blast at that.. while you just try to keep the others away and the saurus alive.

Or if you feel more comfortable with all 7 heroes/henchmen guarding the siege devourer and don't want your monk's regular skill bar to be compromised, you can be a bonder yourself. I'm betting it'll work with all professions because I modified my warrior with 12 protection prayers, put down life bond and life barrier, then ran a bunch of adrenaline attack skills. I was still effective in damage but when the dino showed up, I cast my two enchantments on it and it worked like a charm. I took 0 damage and the gate was broken in one go!

Just remember that when the gate is broken the seekers no longer respawn. It's best to take them out with the devourers in HM because they hit a lot harder. After that, it's a matter of careful pulling. Good luck!

Same happened to me with my guildies, we have been ressed on the other side and cleared charrs from behind while they attacked saurus. After Saurus broke the gate, I sacced myself to aggro all groups of charr and destroyers and after that my guildies took popcorn and watched the mess. In the end only 2 destroyers were standing ...

I got through it in HM by putting the devoures at the gate and putting healing hand on the saurus as well as forcing one of my monks to heal him. If you click on the saurus so he's your target then activate monk spell they'll heal the saurus.

Get close to the gates with your team, die. You will rez at the shrine inside the stronghold.
The nice thing is that the charr won't move since they are not triggered yet since the gate did not open.
Once you rez, just proceed to killing and voila

Edit: just finished reading the other posts in the thread, and noticed that others are doing the behind the gate rez thing

If all else fails you can do what I did.

First, I completely avoided the res shrine at first, just to avoid anything that MAY go wrong (I'm superstitious, sue me) Killed the enemies guarding the siege devourers and immediately headed for the charr archers up on the North side. Killed one, used consume corpse and ran towards the inside res shrine, ordered my henchmen to their death so they could get in there with me.

Once inside, it's as simple as taking out all the groups, getting the dino in isn't required. Just go in, kill all the charr inside, and you'll finish. This worked as of the last update to the game.

If you need help feel free to pm Calithra Boneweaver in game, I'll be glad to take you along =)

I did this by simply bonding the thing up, was able to get through first time. I don't know if anyone had the same eperience, but i was able to defend just the left side, and no more charr would pop up on the right, while a group did pop up to begin with, they didnt actually attack the siege devourer.

How do you deal with the stupid Charr allies getting slaughtered by the third Charr reinforcement every time?

Lol I tried that and it worked perfectly. The rest of the mission was a breeze though the sheer power of the Seekers surprised me, they're easily the most power of the Charr in HM imho

I blundered through this with my mesmer as usual. I got the devourers firing at the gates and took on the north bluff seekers while making sure to aggro the guys that teleport in. It was a bloody mess but with only one group of seekers firing at dino it the broke the gate first time and then helped me out once inside.

Like others say, once you're in it's not too hard. Good luck.

Finally, I did it!! Teleporting me inside, so res inside, then soft cleaning of charr, watch the mess between destroyers and charr (which with pulling, i included Burntsoul) then a little more cleaning from some stopped (bug) Charr.

Peace of cake!

Thanks a lot everybody.

I did it as a necro without teleporting inside, by going curses 10+3+1 prot 12, with the rest in SR. Bring two bond spells. Kill the char by the devourers, start them firing at the gates. Kill two of the three axe charr that spawn leaving one alive on each side (this stopped them spawning for me. Wait for the saurus to show up and bond it. It has no problem staying alive as long as you stay just within radar range. Once the door is down kill the remaining axe charr, let the sieges kill the rangers, and proceed as normal, pulling and whatnot. I'm guessing any class can do this, as it only requires two maintained enchants, and only for the length of the siege.

Ok I had some problems with this one as well but then I came up with this "rampage" strategy lol.

To do it you need a Powerstone of Courage.
You start the mission and kill the 2 groups around the giant devourers so the other bad guys spawn. Now, hold on till the Dino come up and start walking straight forward the Dino, possibly surroinding him with all your party. The Dino will reach the door a start hitting it; he will take it around 10% of total HP, just redo this with the next dino that will spawn. After the door is destroyed, charrs will stop spawning, use the powerstone and keep up with the mission. Now it's a piece of cake, just lure very carefully and you will do this. Hope this will help ya out, byee

P.s: I just used some aoe eles, me as warrior and 2 monks. A quite normal build for low/medium pve level.
