Aatxe damage with just dolyak up... that would be around 20 damage at most I would say. Hmm... that's probably being too generous.

Been showing a few people and the general comment I make is patience. That, and never panic. I would always ping deep wound to show that you can't bend over backwards and get nervous. Double digit, in the teens in health... it happens to me, expect it to happen to you. Expect to deal 0 damage during Gladiator's Defense. For the record, it has happened to me but what can you expect with how much testing this went through.

For the sake of simply letting players understand how the aatxes are going... I have recorded some of my sessions (keep dying though, almost at the 2000 mark... poor guy) to show the situations going bad. Just uh... ignore the MSN messenger window popping up if I put that in the video.

Keep up the effort, let's see a screenshot at the monument in the ice wastes.

yes this is deffinately a patience build. so far i have foudn it not as productive as the spider farmer. i found that i could get to the smites about once every 3 runs. nice and all, but not the success rate of the spider farmer, but still takes practice

i been reading the spider one and i just wondering if u considered balthzars spirit i use it on almost every farming build i do but seeing as you are w/n for this underworld build u only use enfeeble and that can be swa[ed for the mesmer skill psyhical resistance for more defence or mabye. but if u are into curses with enfeeble why not throw mark of pain in there or drop gladators defence for spiteful spirit?..............i'm probably wrong but they are all worth a try.

Physical Resistance, stance. Also, when you get to the smites you'll be taking a lot of damage from their Zealot's Fire.

The benefit of Gladiator's Defense is that I'm also not getting hit a lot. That means not as much bleeding and deep wound. Spiteful Spirit, albeit may last longer, would leave me rather vulnerable. Not to mention when you get to the smites, you're pretty much out of luck. It might work on the aatxe, in which case you may have to replace Watch Yourself with Plague Touch. But then, the question of how much energy do you have, can I time my skills with Riposte and Deadly Riposte so they don't get Savage Slashed... brings in a slew of variables to consider. Mark of Pain... requires physical damage to be dealt to the aatxe. You're using a wand that does fire damage so it won't trigger. If it does trigger off of Gladiator's Defense, Riposte, and Deadly Riposte by the time you start fighting the next one it'll probably have regenerated all that health. They have a natural regen of either +2 or +3 because when they are bleeding their health doesn't move. Against smites... smite hex... return to outpost.

Been recording a few runs tonight... one successful with a fellow guru member, but I wasn't recording it. However, I've compiled a video the demonstrates killing one followed by positioning yourself to take on the center group at the top of the stairs.

http://files.filefront.com/UW_Solo_P.../fileinfo.html

Enjoy, hopefully I can get get more captured to show killing a group of five smites.

hmm u ever considered going w/e and taking armor of the earth that would easily cover enfeelbe and cut ur dmg by a lot when combined with doylak signit. ye i know i keep trying new ideas thats what i am like...i am never ever happy with a build and always try to improve ..sorry if i am insulting ur testing i just like to improve builds. o ye if ya do that u can acaualy leave out watchyourself and possibly put in somthing else there like mabye..for great justice for double riposte for 20 secs lol i cant stop.

Hmm... sounds like a fine idea. Plus, I could really use that extra defense against smites. I think that might be a better solution... I'm not sure if I could test this myself because it would take more timing to understand when Armour of Earth is going to end and how that affects my flow.

3/4 second cast time... 30 seconds, same as Gladiators... that works almost too well. I usually have at least 10 energy leftover so that wouldn't come into play.

Bah, go figure I record my session as w/n and this is probably better. *Shakes fist at dont feel no pain for upstaging*. See this is why I post it, make it easier for me to make a profit.

He is suggesting that the bonus from Armour of Earth would be equivilent to having Enfeele on the skillbar.

i'm pretty sure it can be done with any secondary as long as you keep a few fundamental things in mind:

1 - damage reduction
racthoh accomplishes this using enfeeble, as this is most important vs aatxe. if you can figure out an equivalent from a different secondary, then you're good to go.

2 - enchantments
if you decide to go via enchantments, keep in mind that you need to be able to take care of dying nightmares consistently. racthoh's build has no enchantments, so they pose no problem for him.

racthoh's w/n build is solid because of those two things. enfeeble takes care of the aatxe, and the lack of enchants means that dying nightmares aren't even an issue.

Elementalist - Enervating Charge/Armour of Earth.
Mesmer - Physical Resistance (creates conflicts, would require skill tweaking).
Monk - Just go back to griffons... heh but seriously I can't think of anything.
Ranger - Same boat as monk.

Well, think I might change my secondary to elementalist since both Enervating Charge and Armour of Earth are very tempting. I'll have to test that one.

i've tried w/e before, but never really spent too much time on it. investing in both air and earth is taxing on the attribute points. you'd have to drop strength a bit, or drop it altogether. but dolyak + armor of earth + watch yourself is too yummy to pass up. i also tried ward vs. melee in the build.

just be careful of the nightmares. a stripped armor of earth is no good.

its been hella fun ^^;;

i really wanna thank you for opening up my eyes to other possibilities with fighting enemies.

since your FoW spider posting and this one, ive been taking on other stronger enemies i didnt think i could fight using more less used skills.

Yeah Racthoh, I know youre like me being a "Nerd plain and simple" so I know you are checking this thread regularly and admiring your good work. But seriously, Ive been using the FOW spider build for most everything now, and slicing through enemies like butter. And this Tank (you showed me earlier) build is what I was running in UW with my guild (we were going in with about 4 of us) and new members to our guild were wondering how come we were only going in with 4 of us and then were thrilled that they never have ever been that far in UW even with a full party of 8.

So you have changed my Warrior build for the better and ESPECIALLY after the AOE nerf. By the way, Im sure others are curious as well. Which pieces of FOW armor are you using? I like the way the FOW armor looks but like most I dont want to shell out for all the pieces, so what did you get?

Figure in the second part it'll be how to grab the lone aatxe so that you don't have to worry about fighting three in a row at the start. It's entirely possible, but if you're just starting it's not something to want to deal with right away. That and where to stand on the stairs, and getting that really tricky group to position themselves just right.

Just like the solo monk, this will naturally go faster with a little support. Passive Destruction... has a nice ring to it...

C'mon guys, it's been two days now... let's see some screenies!

I'm using the FoW gladiator pieces. True story, I wanted the energy, but I didn't want to be naked. The only reason I got it. The Ascalon Helm (I haven't worn a different kind of helm for regular PvE since presearing as my warrior) and the 15k dragon I personally thinks compliment the armour quite well.

I thoroughly hope that Anet realizes the joy that people get out of this, and becoming better warriors rather than a place to get some ecto. Hopefully then they won't nerf it when they realize that players are developing strategy and thinking outside the box. Given that this, like spiders, is time consuming and moreorless fun than anything else.

agree very much with that. PvP isnt a huge turn on for a lot of people. so this is their bread and butter.
