I had to tell a friend of mine who started when Nightfall was released that he can't play in Hero's Acsent, because he doesn't have all the skills and the rank. Do you know how crappy his heroes's skills are? No, you don't. However, with the existence of Ursan Blessing, I can bring him the good news that he can play in Hard Mode. Sounds quite a hardship isn't it, and have you ever considered for people like that? No, you didn't, because you only want the game for yourself.
Not everyone started early; Not everyone has all the campaigns; not everyone has the time to play as long as 3 hours a night. Hence, despite the fact that Guild Wars is supposed to provide instances for players to have a skill over time quality, unfairness still remains. Ursan Blessing just provides the extra push for new players to catch up, and I believe that is a valid reason.

If you don't like a skill, don't use it. Ok? Thanks.

They're called Elite PvE areas. Go look up "elite" and see if it has references to scrubs/bad players being elite via crutches/handicaps.

DoA isn't meant for new players. The ENTIRE POINT is that they require skill and dedication to beat. And (I feel I have to remind you), skill and dedication doesn't mean hours spent mindlessly grinding; the whole "skill" part entails that, although you only play three hours a day, you have solid bars for you/your teammates/your heroes and that the 3 hours you spend playing are productive.

For example, you go in DoA with no previous DoA experience whatsoever, and wipe. You sit in DoA outpost and figure out how to fix your build and be a better player so you don't wipe. If you only have 3 hours to do this, then you start again the next day; if you're truly skilled, it won't take you very long to figure out.

Scrubs, on the other hand, go into DoA and wipe. They change nothing (they leave their terrible healing breeze-spam monk bars and mending whammos and whatnot), and go in again. After the fiftieth fail, they go post on Guru about how unfair and hard DoA is. Those are the type of people that don't deserve to get the Elite PvE loot (tormented items etc), because they are unfit to beat the area.

Then you get a skill like Ursan Blessing, which makes even the most average groups insta-win (I won't say it makes everyone instawin, because some people have confessed a dire lack of skill). What happened to the part where DoA is elite?

Skilled players were originally the only ones that could beat DoA. I remember Rep Protein A being one of the first to clear it (including Mallyx), and rob being in the first group to beat Mallyx hardmode. That is sort of obvious evidence of what we've been saying all along; the area was made to be a challenge for skilled players to overcome, not to be lolzrolled by a team of failures with just Ursan Blessing and prot-less woh monks.

3 hours a night to do what exactly? You have time to grind the title for UB?

In your opinion, elite areas are perserved for experienced players. Looking at what you said here, I find that new players are going to have a tough time, aren't they?

Like I said previously, new players who start late have a disadvantage. Elite areas are not supposed to be isolated. Since most experienced people aren't going to help out and teach anyways, why can't we just add one skill to help out a little?

Out of curiousity, do you even have Eye of the North? Just playing the game and going through a few dungeons can yield a good enough tier in the norn title if you don't know that. That's not grind. Lastly, three hours to play.

Well obviously new players aren't experienced are they? What kind of counter-point was that? You just confirmed what Auron said. New players shouldn't be able to plow through DoA for obvious reasons. What kind of elite area would it be then.

Maybe This will help clear up some of your confusion.

Actually yes I do own GWEN. And what zones takes you 3 hours to do? I am already seeing why you want to keep UB the same.

Exactly ONE skill and to help out a little, or do you mean to be IMBA?

Divine Envoy, just leave it. The valid reasons for not nerfing the skill have been brought up ad nauseum in this thread. Just because one little gang, er sms doesn't classify them as valid does not mean they aren't. No need to frustrate yourself arguing with sms and friends, let it ride. Besides, the skill has not been nerfed, and hopefully won't be (though some random SMSer or two will come in and say otherwise, surprise), so go to DoA and maul the hell out of it with UB.

Peace.

I have a hard time taking some of your posts seriously when you've never set foot into DoA and as such, have no knowledge of what is good or bad as far as balance is considered in such areas.

Really? Show me one valid reason it shouldn't be nerfed that will not have a negative effect upon this game in the long run. The floor is all yours.

If you really are this determined to point fingers then take enough time to browse this entire thread. There are numerous other individuals involved in this discussion that have never played with SMS before.

Agree. I was wondering why are there so many people posting here all of a sudden. I guess it's getting boring, since all they do is making statements without any valid points. Nevertheless, it's nice to meet someone with a similar opinion and awareness; can you send me your ingame name over PM? Perhaps we can have another possible discussion in the near future. Although guru forum is not a bad choice, the air is just too polluted here.

Since the argument is getting a little heated, and not much productive has been said in the conversation for some time now, I'm gonna close the thread for awhile.

*Closed*

Added by RTS - a while? don't you mean forever? >_< This thread has been nothing but flames from the start. It will not be reopened ever!

EDIT ~Snipe~ 'For awhile' should read '*period*'
