Default Need Help With Eternal Grove, Masters

I'm running a Monk primary myself and plan to do it H/H if possible. My heroes are generally set up as Zhed Shadowhoof dual attunement fire spike, Master of Whispers JB/DN minion bomber and Olias as SS with Barbs to compliment MoW.

Just wondering what would be a good henchman setup to compliment the hero setup, and some possible strategies. Obviously running from tree to tree doesn't work and I'll need to flag, but this is my first encounter with this mission and I'd like to get it right in as few tries as possible.

The best way to do this is to have another person with you. From my experience, a 4-4 split with one monk and one mm each works out great. The last 2 slots I've always had filled with damage of some sort.

I'm willing to help out if I'm available.

Just noticed that you're trying for masters. In which case I highly recommend finding another person to do a 4-4 split. I can't seem to travel fast enough to kill off the groups before they siege out some of the singers.

Just an observation here ...

I like to h/h as well. When a toon must make the Kurzik/Luxon split, I now normally head to Cavalon if I'm soloing and care about Masters.

My experience is that Eternal Grove/Kurzik is easier to solo for Standard/Expert and Gayala Hatchery/Luxon is easier to solo (taking the back route) for Masters. I had always avoided this route because I had heard horror stories about how difficult the Gayala Mission is, but now that I've done it a few times, I have to say it is much more manageable if all you have are heroes and henches and you want Masters.

Keeping the baby turtles alive is easier than those squishy tree singers!

I have never been able to solo Masters on Eternal Grove with any toon, although I have tried often enough.

I did it with heros/henchies with my paragon. My heroes were:

Tahlkora - LoD Infuser (pre nerf)
Sousuke - Mind Blast
Olias - MM

Redemptor Karl, Rt Hench, War Hench, Vile Hench

Flag henchies to the right side at the door, while heroes go on the left. The heroes can hold their own pretty well, but you have to run all three juggernauts to the henchie side and put them on the stairs. Then just unflag the heroes and take out the turtles etc on the left side, reflag them, and repeat the same process with the henchies. Skip the cutscene, and re-setup the same positions. You will most likely be staying with the henchies most of the time, and unflag the heroes for the last wave (as the afflicted all come from the right side) but make sure there are no stragglers on the left. Remember to always replace the juggernauts on the stairs if they die (as they will from time to time).

If you are a Mo primary, then replacing the rt hench with another damage dealer would be ideal.

Easier with another person. I would advice taking a guildie with you and make sure you are on vent so that you don't have to type to each other - every second of this mission is important.

Finished it with masters, felt pretty good.

Normal mode with two people should be no big problem.

It's best done with two necros (MM + SS), a prot monk and whatever on each side. Guard the gates as long as waves are coming in. In between, go out and kill the turtles, then retreat back to the gates, so a random patrol doesn't get into the base.

With H/H, you're somewhat limited with professions, so taking 2 MMs yourself, and a SS is probably best, then flag them to each side.

Left side is usually hit a bit harder.

Heroes are horrible with attunements in general, especially with dual. If you're bringing an ele, warder will help much more.

But above all - stay within the gates whenever at all possible, and doing it with 2 real people at least makes this mission trivial.

2 people both with Shadow meld.

If you can monk without your elite your set if not >.> Ignore this advice.
You guys can run a 4-4 split, and if the middle starts attacking tree singers, end shadow meld your now back in the garden. Heal up the singer getting damaged until your henchies walk all the way to the garden.
