Default Vanguishing Sunjiang District

I'm ele (use support chants and melee, ele wards) and I use sab's build for heroes. I need some advice on how to successfully vanguish that area cuz it's full of mobs and those stupid afflicted rits ...
Any usefull ele earth build to go in and pull aggro and still survive somehow?

This district is really annoying cuz it has million of monsters in and they're all packed up too close

I did it as an air ele with blind and weakness, MoW as SS, Olias as MM (with Aegis), and Dunkoro as a Life Barrier bonder, along with two monk hench and I believe two melee hench. I had Dunkoro bond just a few of us, not everyone, and it helped immensely. Agreed that there are lots of big mobs. The hardest part for me was the mesmer boss mob area - there are at least two mobs there but they often do not want to separate. Try to separate them if you can, but be prepared to fight them all at once. There are one or two other large groups in that same general area that hit hard, as well. If you can get through those areas, the rest gets easier. Use the walls and corners to try to break apart mobs, or get your h/h to bodyblock at corners if possible. The Am Fah are pushovers there and are a good way to work off any DP. Hope it helps and good luck.

It's been a while, but if I remember, I put the bonds on me, MoW, Talon, and Devona. They were the ones who seemed to need it the most. Olias had Dark Bond, which keeps him alive amazingly well. I kept Dunkoro flagged well out of the fray. Btw, I said two monk hench - actually it was Sister Tai and Prof Gai. Yeah, the monk boss can be a pain as well. If I remember, afflicted rits are actually more potent healers than the monks. Either power through their healing to kill off the second monk then focus on the boss, or lock heroes on one while you and the hench focus on the other. Otherwise I'd suggest trying to work mesmer shutdown or dazed into your team somehow, or maelstrom perhaps since you are ele. I think I also remember flagging my team well apart for that fight...can't remember why though.

Edit: My memory is returning (slowly and incompletely). I pulled the monk boss all the way to the top of the ramp - i.e., a long way from his spawn point. He follows further than any of his group. Then I planted myself on his other side (the side closest to his spawn point) to bodyblock his retreat. You should be able to get him alone. If the other monk still lurks half-way up the ramp, you and maybe one other H/H can put enough pressure on the monk to kill him or at least prevent him from healing the boss. Yeah, it's slowly coming back to me now. I hated that fight. Must have blocked it out. :P

OK I vanguished it. Couldn't have done it without ccs and consumables. I used water build with Ward Against Harm and Mealstorm with a snare and Frigid Armor and that 50% miss water hex spell. Used Barrior on myself, ss, tai and gai cuz of the lower armor.
Mez strip these enchants so you should recast after the battle is over. I've first started killing sins and/or warriors and waited till they got resed to go for the Rit cuz it will lose half of it's current health. Minions help a lot - Golem, bone horror and shim horror from NF are great.
I killed afflicted in this order... Monk, Mez, Necro, Ranger, Warrior and Ele.
All should be pulled carefully. Hope this will help for future vanguisher . GL and thx for the advice

What is the most difficult thing for me is the giant mob near the Mesmer Construct, it contains about ~35 Afflicted + Shiro'ken + Boss..
Pulling has to work little.. Any advice for that?

This is the hardest zone to vanquish in Cantha imo.

I had a lot of trouble trying to do it with heroes and henchies.

Eventually got a friend to help me and we rolled over everything.

1 Ursan Warrior
1 Dragon Slash, Save Yourselves Warrior
6 Necros. (Sab's builds.)

You need to be prepared to do long distance pulling - flag and run, and stop to fight only when the last mob chasing you starts to run back. It can be the only way to effectively split multiple groups under some circumstances.

One thing I found when I vanquished this zone - you only need to kill each creature one time, and it doesn't matter if it is subsequently resurrected. I nearly hit a brick wall against a group with 2 rits (couldn't overdamage their ability to res fast and finish the group off), but I managed to gank every creature in that mob one time, and got the credit for vanquishing the zone even though the whole group was running around again by that point.
