This title is pure BS, the fog system is crap, there are places in which even checking the 100% map and your map you don't notice the difference.

I'm at 99.9% atm, using also the Eredon exploit, of course without JQ and the Overlook, I've checked every map and spots and I can't see anything noticeable.

I'm sure that my 0.1% is somewhere in a place I already reached, and when I was there facing some wall my mouse was not pointed in the right direction and I missed it ...

I give up trying, there are 2 HUGE areas like Overlook and JQ which will easily give me much more than 0.1%, so I'll patiently wait to find a group for JQ or the next event.

I spent too much time chasing the bits created by some A.net a$$hole. I want to enjoy a videogame, not feel an idiot nerd.

Looong long time ago, but the link to the "full map" on post #1 seems to have got garbled.

It should be http://www.gothic-rose.net/Guildwars...Ytyrian_HI.jpg

OK, I've done, yesterday I was in JQ with 2 computers and my main character on Luxon side and a character of my 2nd accout on kurz side, spamming in my guild/alliance chat and begging all people in my f-list to help me enter the f***ing mission, when all of a sudden it started and 10 secs later I was GMC.

First of all thx to Livingston for the maps and especially for the commonly missed spots, without them I would have never been able to get this title.

But this only confirms how badly designed is Cantha GMC:

- you don't have any clue from the game of what you need to do to complete it

- the fog system is total crap and very misleading, for a lot of spots you never know if what you see on the map is fog or some cleared area

- some points are unfogged only if you go in 1 precise spot and with the mouse oriented in the right direction, otherwise you miss them

- areas that count for the title are closed or cannot be accessed by a single player (I believe to Livingston that they're not strictly required, but without them it becomes pure crazyness, it's like to say that you don't need a computer to handle the mathematical model of a missile because you can do the calculations with pen and paper)

- and many many other idiot things that only the mind of an a$$hole nerd computer programmer can have invented.

So the only viable way is to use an external resource like gwguru. And this is fundamentally wrong.

Now I need 1 more title to KoBD, I hope that Elona will be a different story, otherwise I'll go for sunspear.

Has anybody noticed a change in % since the update that made the Undercity a separate area for mapping? My first four characters (2 Tyrians and 2 Canthans) are at 99.2-99.3% and had this area explored prior to the update. My Elonian is only at 98.6% and reached Cantha after the update. Comparing maps between characters only shows slight differences for the Imperial Sanctum area (oddly enough my Elonian has all of the non-exploitable area cleared).

I have cleared the Monestary Overlook with each character and only need the Jade Quarry area. Has anyone else noticed any discrepancies like this while mapping. I have also noticed that two characters exploring the exact same area will often be 0.2% different for the title - i.e. the party leader will be .2% ahead in the title progression than the other party members, even if they had unfogged areas first.

Thanks so much for this thread! I kept it minimized the entire time I was finishing up Cantha, and it was VERY helpful.

My Tyrian character was able to finish using the open boardwalk this past weekend, and did not have to resort to doing any exploits.

I feel sorta bad for the Luxon team I was on in Ft Aspenwood, for .. sorta running around instead of protting the turtles, but the team won anyway, so hopefully no hard feelings.

Legendary Cartographer now!!! Thank you!!!

I have two words for you: Nightfall and Heroes.

I feel like I kind of cheated because I got my last 25% or so in Cantha using heroes and henches whilst scraping walls. I'm more impressed with those who completed 100% without heroes!!

Tyria seemed a lot easier to me, because there were so many zones I could run and scrape by myself with no fighting. In Cantha, I did have to fight a lot more. Heroes ftw.

Good luck.

If you don't want to buy another campaign to get this title, just follow the first page of this thread, it should be enough.

Thanks for the guide.
I did not use much, just hugged the wall and some more, but found one or two spots that made the difference.

And thanks for people submitting 100% maps.
Comparing made my exploration easier.

I know some people have problems with finding the missing spots.
I have some advice.
- Read posting #1 a couple of times.
- Look at the full screen map at #1 and compare those to your screen (minimap)
- Look at the posting #2 and clear all differences!
- It is possible to compare with the zoomed-out (whole) map and a graphics program (like GIMP), just like the Tyrian and Elona maps.
When you zoom to 200% you can see when there is a difference.
It's sometimes hard to notice the difference, sometimes it's fog.
However, there is a slight difference between fog and unmapped areas.
With a trained eye you can see them at 100%, but they are easier to spot at 200%.

This should get you to 100%.

I think someone is running a Canthan exploration service, don't remember who.
