BTW I would like to know how did you get those islands north and south of shiro explored. I never got it fully.
North: you have to get banishes and there is a tiny little corner that juts out a bit. You have to grind the hell out of it to get it all.

South: There used to be a Necrotic travel exploit that allowed you to warp onto a bridge and access a hidden area. But I believe it has been fixed.

Thumbs up Thanks Livingston!

Got the Grandmaster Cartographer title not 10 minutes ago, with no exploits and no town-controlled areas. I owe you one buddy.

Ty folks.. I got it.. I got it. Could never imagine the importance of hugging the walls in cantha, even where you thought there was nothing to reveal. I know I have lots of space to uncover since i did the enderon terrace trick..

Just thought a small edition may or may not be in order ,but, point number 11 on the Unwaking waters section ( This was in Shyfte's guide using the circled points on the maps) can actually be uncovered by scraping the north wall of the Kurzick Unwaking waters outpost. Of course if you've scraped Unwaking waters explorable/mission properly then there should be no need to scrape the outpost( although realistically it should already have been scraped before doing the mission).

Anyway thanks for a great guide Livingston and all the other contributors. I was steadily rescraping Cantha myself until an ally of mine sent me the link for this thread this afternoon and although I only had 0.9% left to find to get the 100% it's been enlightening and I'm now only 0.4 short and I still need to get myself banished. Thanks again

Byron

This guide is one of the best things I've come across in a LONG time... thanks so much to everyone who's contributed, mapped, etc. I've gone from 96% to 99.5% in two days!

I'm stuck with a couple things though and hope someone could help me out with at least one of them:

There's a spot on either the SW corner of Shiro's little grotto or the SE corner of Imperial Sanctum that I can't figure out how to get to for anything. Is it reached from Raisu Palace after beating Shiro, part of Divine Path, in a mission? On my map it looks like it'll be worth about 0.1 - 0.2% and it's bugging me seeing it each time I compare maps but having no idea how to get at it.

*edit* Wooo... it's the same place Ninjitsukitsune was missing above... how'd you get that spot?

Thanks a lot for this guide, Livingston (and all the people who have contributed). I finally got my title today (without jade quarry).

I MADE IT!

WHEE! ^_^

It would've taken forever without Livingston's guides. They're indispensable!
(Got it without the Quarry, so I can confirm that Tyrian born characters definitely can do that.)

Default Thank You Thank You Thank You!!!!!!!!

First I would like to say, the time and effort put into this guide is reason enough to give it the highest rating... This is the sort of community help that so often goes unappreciated it makes me happy to be able to really praise someone whose hard work has made my life so much easier... So a sincere thank you to Livingston... You ROCK!!!
Second, for the record, Zoe is Tyrian born and altho I did have the area from the Dragon Festival, I never did do the whole Shiro banishment thing, as it seemed to be a pain to bother with, nor did I do a single exploit. I can still see areas on Livingston's excellent maps that I could explore, so the wiggle room for the title in Cantha seems to be pretty big. I was lucky enough to find a group that was mapping Jade Quarry and that helped, but it was really just that wall-huggin' that did the trick.
So Thanks again for helping me get my second Explorers Title!!!

With a little help from the maps in the OP, I finally got it today.

There's a lot more leeway than I thought for Cantha - I didn't have about half of Jade Quarry and as you can see above, I never even got round to Vizunah Square Local Quarter.

4 more titles to go to PKM

Okay so I know I am missing a few obvious spots but need the help any way. I am at 98%. Image is 1024x768. I can get a bigger shot if you need one.

Zee at 98% in Cantha

thanks in advance

There is a thread for people who want to get JQ and FA mapped. They set up times and dates. I have a post there for that very reason!

Just made it!

Canthan Grandmaster Cartographer
Elonan Grandmaster Cartographer
Protector of Elona
Protector of Cantha
Protector of Tyria
*Kind of a Big Deal*

BTW: Forget Jade Quarry... you don't need it and it's too much of a pain trying to get a party together. I made GmC without Quarry and without the Necrotic Transversal exploit. Jade Quarry is about .4% and the Transversal exploit is about .2%, you can pick up .6% in the "Eredon Terrace" bug. After using that I hit 100% with little trouble using this guide and know of a few spots I haven't hit yet.

Thanks so much to everyone who helped out!

Thanks to you all for this wonderful thread. There I stood in Cantha, having 99.5%, thinking I had done all spots in the world. Then your images and descriptions showed me that even in the first island, 2 spots where missing.

Thanks again for your great work!

Note about Livingston's advice:

Guys and gals - when Livingston says to hug the walls, he really means it. Plaster yourself to them! When Livingston says that sometimes the only difference is a very slight difference in shading, he means it! I personally can't see the difference (I dont wear my glasses, they're not cool) but, a chum of mine looked over my shoulder and pointed it out.

This is a great thread! Great advice, Livingston!

Hm. This reply might be outdated, it might be not.

Livingston, I think I speak for many players that your maps are essentially quite a good focus point on mapping out the last few spots. So a big cheer for that

On the other hand, I'm currently stuck at 99.9% and I looked at the extra three maps you posted 'a while later' than the original area-specific maps.

I can't seem to uncover those areas in the Shing Jea island (southeast of the harbor town, and that harbor you can't reach in that northern map). Any pointers on where to stand and on how to turn your camera on getting those nasty spots?

Best wishes,

-- Threeps
