Boogie Knight,
I took a chance, but the results were disappointing. When they increased the size of the Tyria map they made the "whole map" comparison method much harder. With your map at 1024x768 it's just a bit too low resolution. I see differences where I know there can't be differences, because the area is too far from an accessible location.
Still, the areas I marked in the South-East desert to the probably are areas you have not visited yet. No guarantees on the rest of the marked areas though. If you can set your graphics option to a higher level, 1280x1024 for example, it would help a lot.
Also, 98% mapped means there are likely to be some large areas that you have not visited yet. That 2% covers a lot of ground! I would suggest you look for "fuzzy" patches inside your map. Much of Tyria is made up of rectangular blocks, which in a 100% map will be completely revealed. Many mapped areas should also have relatively straight edges.
Good Luck!

Takeko Nakano,
Another attempt at a 1024x768 map check.
Don't know if this one will do any better than the last, but please give it a try, if you have not finished up in the meantime.
Higher resolution maps are much easier to review!

I am currently at 98.7. I will explore riverside because theres a spot in the MISSION right behind the temple I can get after reviewing other 100 percent maps. Also, theres an area in Ice Cave of sorrow mission that I can also get, but I would be lucky to get .1 for both locations. I do know I need to go back to Hells Precipice and get a few area, like walking in the water, but this area will only get me .2 if I am lucky. I also know about the area in the Sanctum Cay mission near the end, the little area past the boat around the cove. Other than these areas, I have no clue where to look. I suspect they are in the shiverpeaks areas (shivers) because this map is from my main character which is an Ele (bows)

Update, I did Ice Caves mission, riverside, and hells precipice and am now at 99.0 percent.
I am clueless now as to where the missing 1 percent is. Im hoping it not the arenas or HOH. I cant get to the arena maps and have no clue how to get to HOH

Right, I'm now at 99.0%, though I'm sure there are a few 0.01% in there too.
I've taken this screenshot at a higher resolution because it was pointed out it wasn't detailed enough last time.
This one is 1600x1024. I know I need to do the Evennia trick in The Wilds. If anyone is willing to help me do that I'd appreciate it (I'm in the UK in regards to time-zones) - I've read the guildwiki guide but don't understand how to put it into practice.

Here is a new map at 1280x1024, as my previous one apparently wasn't of much use.

Here is a link to mine, at 97.4

Asrial, for the record, I don't want the fish handed to me, I just don't understand your guide. I am horrible with computers and just don't get how to use all that stuff in your guide. I also don't know how to compare the maps other ways by myself, which is why I'm asking for help. If you can teach me how to do it, that'd be great, but otherwise I'm stuck relying on other people.

Rockby Quickfoot,
You have 2.6% of the map left to uncover, that is a LOT of map. I don't know about other reviewers, but until you are at 99.5% there are likely to be so many places you have missed as to make reviewing a real chore. Second (and more important to me) the map you posted is at 800x554, which is both too low for reviewing via the method I use, and is an odd size to boot. I use a method that requires me to have a map of the exact same dimensions as the one I am reviewing. For Tyria that means I would need you to post a map at: 1680x1050, 1440x900, 1400x1050 or 1280x1024. Other people using different techniques might be able to use other resolutions, but I am not familiar with their limitations.
Boogie Knight,
Your map is 1024x819. So again, there is not much I could do with it. I did note however, that you seem to be missing part of the Dunes of Despair mission area. After you use Necrotic Traversal to get into the bonus area (I don't know any other effective way to map the bonus area) there is a large piece to the East that you do not seem to have mapped. Check the Guildwiki entry for that mission to find out more if you are not familiar with the technique.
Asrial,
Mapping can be tough, and some folks who are trying to do it seem to be a bit unimaginative. Seeing someone run EVERY mission again, in hopes they will stumble across the one tiny piece they need, makes me feel sorry for them, when a little research and some reading of posts could provide them with the answers. Of course, it's the person at 99.9%, who has been there for weeks, that would really inspire me to help. Someone at 94% is just lazy or in too big a hurry and is looking for someone to do their work for them.

Bill, I meant with regards to people posting "hey, can someone look at my map and help me find spots?" and ignoring the step by step instructions on how they can do it themselves.
Rockby, I will most CERTAINLY help you
Message me on AIM @ ANovastar78 and I will walk you through it step by step.
The hardest part of it is setting it up. Once that's done, it's really really easy to use.

Asrial,
Thanks for the info on this technique. Had been on 98.5 for almost a year when I found this post. Finished Cantha and working on Tyria atm, but am having a hard time finding a post of Elona with the green background.
Could someone please post an Elona map [prefer 1280, but any will do].
Thanks

When I did the compares (before Texmod), at first I compared almost everything above the 95% stated in the first post.
However, I was seeing the same spots over and over, so I made the list of frequently missed spots, which can be found here.
I also made that thread because I do not have enough time anymore for the compares.
An < 98% map usually has more spots, but does not take much more time to compare than a 99.9 one. It's the marking of the spots that takes most time.
Using a graphical editor or even two internet explorer windows to compare maps has always worked for me, it's about the same way Asrial's compare works (have not tried that one yet).
I think there are enough resources available now for people to do their own compares, at least for Tyrian maps.
