Question High end weapons and monument of valor?

Taken from the official wiki:
Quote:
The Monument of "Valor" displays unlocked high-end weapons obtained from the Eye of the North expansion
And on gw.gamewiki:
Quote:
Only Destroyer Weapons can be added to the monument.
This makes me wonder what makes the "Destroyer Weapons" high-end?
I might have been misunderstanding it, but high-end doesn't that mean better in some way?
I cant say that the skins neither stats are any better then other perfect weapons throughout the game.
I even think there are loads of better skinned weapons with exactly the same stats, plus that they take as much to get.

This leads me to the point to ask why not...
A: Make some insanely detailed skins?
B: Add better stats?
C: Make the "Monument of Valor" able to take all perfect weapons?

There's no perfect weapon, end of story.

Why not make it display "legendary weapons"?

Prophecies
Make Molten Claw like weapons or something.

Factions
Shiro's Blades
Shiro's Sword

Nightfall
Tormented Weapons

Destroyer Weapons

Perfect is what you call a weapon with max dmg range and best inscription for its kind, no?

For me my perfect weapon is my old hand axe that i used to farm griffon's with before the nerf. It isn't perfect stat wise, but thats a guild wars memory that i don't wish to forget.

Destroyer items are hardly High End, as anyone can craft one.

This is another HoM failure IMO. I have really nice weapons that I've gotten over all campaigns. Destroyer weapons aren't that great and I'm not going out of my way to get one just to add it to the HoM.

I think any greens should be allowed, maybe some golds, I mean there are some nice looking skins out there.

This is what bothers me. Where is the "Valor" in walking to the lobby of Slaver's Exile to craft a weapon to place in your HoM?

Meanwhile there are people that work hard to get the weapon they want, be it gold, green, or otherwise and it cannot be displayed.

Does it really affect me? Not that much, I have weapons I would like to display, but I really don't care if they're not there. It's just another empty monument in my HoM.

Disagree.

Greens are not High End, they were never intended to be either.

I'll explain why:

* All items have the same stats/req
* Most are easy to obtain:

* Farmable
* Easy to purchase/cheap

HoH items etc should be allowed.

So, a high-req, non-max mod item should be allowed to be placed in HoM, but that same skin with a low req and max mods should not be allowed if it was dropped in PvE. What is your resoning behind that?

Who cares if they are easy to find or not, I like designs and how they look over rarity. Heh this isn't about what items YOU want to showcase, it's about what items /I/ want to showcase. Lets face it, each HOM is tailored to the player not everyone else. Why shouldn't the player decide if he wants to stick 10 useless items in there, or stick 10 DOA weapons?

I think the whole idea of a Monument of Valor is flawed. GW weapons are all the same (or can be) stats wise, so it all comes down to personal taste.

Personally I like a sword to look like a sword (longsword, gothic, flamberge, runic). Other people like crystallines and fellblades. There might even be someone out there that likes the Destroyer sword.

Ideally you'd get the option of adding whichever weapon you want to the monument, but presumably this means that GW2 would need to inherit all the GW1 skins and that would be a pain for them.

Edit: Also I don't think items need be perfect. I just saved the world and killed the great destroyer with a +29 shield.

Maybe, but still what I was thinking was, limit you to adding maybe 10-20 items, so you can add what ever ones you want, but if you add more you need to delete one.

I agree, Destroyer weapons were a knock off of Tormented items and definetly do not deserve a spot on the monument of valor over Crystalline, Tormented weapons, etc.

The Monument is highly useless to many people at this point who realize that Destroyer weapons are a joke and do not want to spend money to craft a second rate skin to give them the same stats as any other moddable weapon for the price of an unstable Gem stone.

I was expecting something truly epic. Like a huge story of quests to find Rurik's FDS of Noob Magnetism. That's legendary for starting the giant market for FDS's, how can it not deserve to have a spot in the HOM? Instead it's that destroyer crap. A burnt tree shield? WTH is that?
