Against Charr in HM you need to spread your team out (flags), deal with enemy hard ressers fast (dominators; avengers) and be smart when meteors start dropping (flag any heroes caught in a shower away). Agreed it's tough, but you can make it manageable with a bit of practice, and some sensible pulling (don't fight more than one group at a time). Pain inverter is most definitely your friend - it will instakill charr flameshielders (meteor shower; fire storm), warders (deep freeze) and stalkers (incendiary arrows).

Against Charr, I usually try to fan out my team, pull the group with a bow, call the hard resser as target (if there is one) and spread round some pain with pain inverter and technobabble. Order of priority after hard res is fire eles, rangers and monks (monks may need to come sooner if there is 2 of them).

For an ele, Bsurge works well in Charr areas. Yes, the monks use extinguish, but it's very spammable, there is lots of melee and the enemy warrior mobs both tends to bunch up and use conjure enchants, so you get the benefit of it more than you usually would. Combine it with shell shock, enervating charge and epidemic to pretty much totally neutralise Charr melee threat.

In the Grothmar Wardowns mission, the groups you fight to do the "bonus" (not actually a bonus at all) are harder than the groups in the compound at the end. I would recommend you simply make in a straight line for the end objective through the forest, and end the mission as soon as you can. Ignore the caravan, watchtowers and siege destroyers completely.

@ sauron: if the archers are your problem on that mission i'd bring a warrior hench with shields up. one or two bha+rapidfire (which almost negates HM casting speed) rangers can also help alot in there, shutting down all the dangerous casters and an Jaggedbones MM. Plus Pain Inverter.

edit: I'd do all the bonus objectives for the "against the charr". It helps so much when there's around 10 charr in the base plus they can all be pulled outside. At least with the above party they weren't that difficult. Another trick is to use PI on the archers so that they blow themselfs up.

Blood washes Blood was/is my hardest quest to get trough, that monk boss is annoying (enchant removal is necessary or brute force). I was a little suprised that Warband of Brothers was that easy to get trough, wierd (no deaths at all we used: ss/barbs+mm+rapidfire bha+pain inverter - if you use PI on prison guard or on Effigy you'll see BIG numbers).

A few suggestions:

Make sure your ebon vanguard title is selected, so you and your heros get the bonus against charr
I believe charr are strong against fire - you might try bringing the archer or warrior instead of cynn. Bringing Devona or Talon gives the extra advantage of giving you a front line, so all your party isn't always caught in the same AoE spell.
If the archers are a problem, try to micro reckless haste and enfeeblement on them from the curses necro.
If the eles are a problem, you might try arcane echo + pain inverter, if you have it. The ebon vanguard assassin is also pretty effective - he will knock them down and interrupt their spells.
Since you're playing an ele, you might try the glyph of sacrifice + meteor shower + assassin's promise combo to lob a meteor shower on top of a group of enemies and keep them down. Bringing "you move like a dwarf" to knock down, interrupt, and cripple specific enemies inside the shower might be a good move, as well.

Do you think you could share the BHA build for my ranger heroes?

Something like OgASc5MTuSUgqGPG0GbGFHCA

[wiki]Broad Head Arrow[/wiki]
[wiki]Rapid_Fire[/wiki]
[wiki]Savage Shot[/wiki]
[wiki]Distracting Shot[/wiki]
[wiki]Comfort Animal[/wiki]
[wiki]Charm Animal[/wiki]
[wiki]Lightning Reflexes[/wiki]

if you want to spread the condition with one ranger instead consider

[wiki]Epidemic[/wiki]

Some notes, unless you micro the stance the hero wont use it unless getting hit (at least for me) but it's not necessary it's fast enough already . Pet helps too keeping the caster constantly interrupted, so caster(s) aren't going to do much or anything at all (except some bosses). Rapid Fire is EoTN skill so click the link.

Tried Against the Charr a few more times earlier today and used Sab's three necromancer build for heroes. Brought talon(warrior henchman), Herta(wards), both monk henchman, and Zho(interrupt). I tried playing as b-surge and also tried playing as a mind blast nuker. In both builds I brought pain inverter, which helped somewhat. For now I think I'm going to give up on doing hard more primary quests until I'm able to find some assistance from a human player because I don't think I'm capable of doing this by myself with H/H.

Echoed assassins gives you 2 badass killers up top. They will wipe out a whole line of archers.

If you brought the restoration necro from sab's build, both monk henchmen, the earth henchman, and the interrupt henchman, what did you bring to do damage? One curses necro, one warrior henchman, and one ele aren't enough damage to kill things in HM. I'd suggest bringing Mehnlo, Herta, Devona, and one other offensive hero (I usually bring Aidan). Herta's wards, the restoration hero, and mehnlo should be enough to keep you alive.

I have done all but one of the HM missions, Destruction Depths. I have been using the MM and SS Necro's from Sab's build, 1 smite Monk from the 3 Monk build, 1 Heal and 1 Prot Hench, Ele & Interrupt Ranger. Myself I am set as damage dealing warrior with Dwarven Stability, Warriors Endurance, Cyclone Axe, 2 other axe dmg skills, endure pain, SY and Pain Inverter. For some Missions I go W/E & swap out Dwarven stability for Frigid Armour and for others a few minor changes like Shields up.
I also use a consumable for IAS so can pretty much spam SY as its my only adrenal skill.

Managed to do all of them without much trouble and vanquished Valaja Falls while farming Norn points with the same build.

Some ideas -

Assault on Stronghold, take Shields up and Protectors Defence if warrior. Makes life a lot easier with the gate.
G.O.L.E.M, just run back and forth between the 2 forges clearing each time, no need to split team as its easy to do.
Warband of Brothers, just take your time, pull sensibly and use PI on Prison Guards, Effigy and Boss, they go down real quick.
Blood Washes Blood, exactly the way Anduin said. (though i did have a guildie with me who used Ursan).
A Time For Heroes, Frigid Armour, Interrupt, PI enough said.

Everything else is pretty straightforward though like I said I still need to do Destruction Depths.

the trick with Against the charr is do not do the bonuses. Just take some spikage and go straight for the main camp. there's not much charr there anyway.

I just did Assault the stronghold last night and used the death at rez shrine trick and it worked perfect. However I couldnt get the charr to attack the destroyers or vice versa so I had to take out all the destroyers. What did I do wrong? How do you get them to attack each other?

Keep the hench flagged back and slowly move towards the stairs and the green star on the map. The Charr will run back towards the destroyers and a dialogue will start once you get close enough.
