Default My first time in UW...can anyone help me out?

Ive been to FoW a few times in the past few days as a N/Me SS/SV. Ive gotten the hang of if, not really that difficult but ive been lookin to get into a group for UW but most are either 600/ smite or double smite, trio, or 55/ss. Is there some1 or a group that i can tag along with and learn the basics of uw? thank you very much.

Unless you have ursan, probably not. Most UW groups that do it the old fashioned way don't want a noob on their team (it's hard enough as it is, don't need someone taking a quest at the wrong time and screwing it up) I would say hang out in TOA dis 1 and look for a non-ursan group. Don't tell them you've never done it before, unless they ask. Ping your build and take any advice they have (hopefully they won't kick you without saying anything) Don't take any quests - you can always go back and take the quest and the reward later after the quest is already done (this way you won't screw up the trip) Stay with everyone and do what they say (ie, don't leroy into things because there are pops and traps and unpleasant things you can't see) And don't get pissed if you fail at some point. UW is supposed to be hard, if it was 100% successful ectos would be worthless and people wouldn't be ursaning it.

First off, it depends what you want to do.

A) If your goal is to learn how to farm the Underworld, you should be on the lookout for a kind 55 to teach you the run. Tell them you're willing to pay the entrance fee if they're willing to deal with you, and that you'll pay it again if you wipe. Alternatively, check the GW Helper List sticky in Riverside; someone there might be willing to hang with you.

B) If your goal is to clear the Underworld, the easiest thing you can do is market yourself as a "battery." A Battery necromancer basically uses their own energy to power the team's monks - and to a lesser extent other casters, whenever they ask for it. If you wish to set up as a "dedicated" battery, you literally need nothing more than one skill:

[skill]Blood is Power[/skill]

The rest of your skill bar can pretty much be empty, because your job on the team will be to let everyone else do more of what they already do. It's not a terribly exciting thing, but it can build your confidence - you won't need to know a lot to start, and you'll figure out how to beat the Underworld as your team does all the work.

If you'd rather not give up an elite, you could stuff Blood Ritual into one of your builds and stay close to the casters, powering them up. Either way, a weapon with longer enchantment duration (staff, or one-handed physical weapon like spear or axe) will make each "battery" enchantment last longer.

Since you're new to the Underworld, and a necromancer isn't really a "must have" on most teams, you'll pretty much be restricted to pick-up groups at first. If you can't find one in your local districts, try jumping to foreign or international ones. The weekend is better because of a bigger pool of people heading in, which means there's more of a chance you'll happen upon a non-discriminating group. A guild or alliance group would be tons better, but I'm guessing you wouldn't be posting here if you already had one of those to walk you into UW

Finally, however you choose to get to the Underworld, do NOT take any quests until the group does! Success in the Underworld largely depends on clearing areas before accepting quests, so you should pay very close attention to the party leader's orders, and never be the one to take any quest until and unless you are absolutely certain what the result of accepting it will be.

Thanks a lot, ive seen necros advertising that theyre a battery but never knew wut it meant. If i had to pick between what i wanted to do, it would be farming, with clearing a close second considering theres apparently good drops anyway. I would gladly pay the enctrance fee for some1 to teach me how to do what and where and with who. I appreciate everyone's help alot...i dont feel as lost anymore

Finally, a request for information and detailed and proper replies with absolutely NO flaming or rude remarks.

Outstanding guys!!!!!!

chris12, I would like to offer the only thing I can add. The more research you can do the better informed you will be. Scour both wiki's and search search search. You will be better prepared and almost ready for the surprises!!!

GL and have fun.

The first time I went to UW was by myself trying out the solo builds. Zoned in and looked around going. "WOW, this is soooo cooool." And then BAM, I was dead. Total time===30 seconds. Got a bad spawn and was blind sided by a dang Aataxe.

I'm not an experienced Realm of the God's Farmer, but I guess this part of "The Big Necro Farming Guide" will help you out: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...43&postcount=4

Put it this way, the only truly hard parts are Mindblades when there's lots.
Attxe aren't much when PSpirit is around.

Apart from that, you should be fine.

My Advice:

get the build for the 55/ss uw duo run. then offer to pay the entry fee for a group and even let them keep all drops (they would be getting them without you). watch the ss and the 55, see what the run is about and then try to find a friendly 55. let em know your scenario and hope they will be willing to teach you further

hey, i dont post very much but this caught my attention.

If you already have a SS/SV necro or all the skills but missing weapons hit me up in game. I have a 55 Monk, used to farm alot but stopped for a while. Just got my internet back and i'll prolly be on later tonight or some other time. Hit me up. If you have vent its even better. You pay the entrance and i'll show you how easy it is ^^
