this mission is more than possible with no-1 on the other side for HM. i would personally recommend bringing 2 mm heroes since there are an infinite (well.... for the most part) amount of bodies to exploit in this mission. ^^

i'm finding this rather frustrating. i have 3 minion bombers - some of who are also warding, healing, and protection. i have an alliance member on the other side with 2 mm, nuker and henchmen. and we still get wiped at the first fight. how did you guys do it by yourselves?

5 MM's is probably overkill. If you managed to get rolling you'd probably steamroll the mission but getting going with only a couple of initial damage dealers each side is gonna be a problem. 3 MM's total is more than enough...when i did it we only had 2 (other team was henchies but my side was me and a guildie + heroes).
I'd recommend no more than 2 MM's each side for sure. You need to be able to make a good start and initially the MM's have no minons, or very few.

5 MMs won't do much... try getting a total of 3 at most 4.... take lots of AoE.... a trapper works really well here.... so does a IV n/rt healer and jagged bombers with putrid bile.

A friend and I tried this a while ago and her side kept dying (she was in Local, I was foreign)
We tried being on the same team, and it went good. I think the reason is that henches/heroes don't trigger some "events". Like the Divinity coast mission - get way far and flag your heroes to where you think the villagers are. They won't trigger any enemies at all. As soon as you get in range, they come out.
Each time we did this, had 2 mm's. Depending on your class, Ursan would be stupid to bring. It's honestly not very powerful when only 1-2 people have it. The mission is henchable though.
Kinda hard to give any detailed help when we don't know your class/chapters you own/etc.

It's easier if you get a full henchmen team on the other side because they'll receive similar buffs that the HM enemies themselves get.

i really don't know how you guys are making it through even the first afflicted battle. here's my setup so far starting from the foreign quarter:
me as warrior
sab's 3 necro build
cynn
headmaster vhang
aidan
jamei
i've tried ursan, which doesn't work. i've tried w/p with supportive shouts and that doesn't work. i haven't tried trapping yet though

+10 Racthoh, easier with only henchies on the other side
I did it with my ranger, a friend had his monk, + heroes: P, 4x N, Mo
It was cakewalk, no hench went below 80% hp ^^

Actually, I finally got masters on hm on this mission by going in with no real person on the other side, and no other people on my side. I took 2 minion bombers, 3 monks, an ele, a tank, and me as an ele. Lots of aoe. Had no problem. This was after many many tries with other players on my side, and players on the other side as well.

Try another person, preferably an Ursan or SY/TNTF Paragon and their heros. I don't see why you would bring Aidan. There are so many afflicted here that I would prefer something that did a bit more damage. I don't suggest trapping. What are you running on your warrior?

Positioning is very important on this mission - you get big mobs coming from multiple directions, and if your team splits up then you can end up with heroes out of healing range of monks, and your damage too spread out to be effective. At the first fight, try to position yourself in the "third corner" of the room (ie the one that no mobs spawn in), set flags and stay compact - don't chase mobs, or stretch out to meet them partway, just let them come to you.
Same story in the second main room. Park on top of the wooden floor that afflicted jump out of. In the final big room, stay on the middle floor at the bottom of the stairs. You'll probably (eventually) have to go up the stairs to mop up rits and the boss, but if you have two MMs and some blinding / weakness then the minions will probably keep the stairs mostly blocked off until you have killed everything that comes from your level and below.
Make sure you get the ele boss as soon as he spawns (he hits VERY hard) and prioritise the afflicted eles, rits and rangers in approximately that order.
I did this in HM with H/H and no human team on the other side. It was a challenge, but no Eternal Grove HM. It was actually a lot of fun too.

you're right, positioning helps a lot. this time i made it to the 3rd big fight, but got overwhelmed by the mobs again.
