Default Can you beat Nightfall without choosing a secondary class?

I asked around while in-game and got a yes, but I am having a lot of problems trying to find quests and missions. The Mission at the digging area isn't available for me, either because I'm too low level (level 8) or because I haven't completed a mission yet, or because I haven't gotten my secondary profession. I am thinking that you can only get the mission to have that monk join your team if you choose a secondary profession, and then after you have him on your team, you can do the mission in the digging area (I think that is where you get the girl dervish hero right?).

Has anyone actually completed any of the campaigns without choosing a secondary class, and can someone help me find quests/missions to continue on if it is possible?

Thanks

i think choosing a secondary is a requirement for all storylines so you have to actually choose one. however, i went through all of nightfall using just derv skills except for when i was capping elites. it was pretty easy to do. also the only non-derv skill i use when vanking NF is Pain Inverter, which technically, means i still haven't used any skills from a secondary profession.

Okay, since it seems that the people in the game were mistaken, just how far can you go without selecting the secondary class? Nightfall seems to have a lot of boundaries, since it's surrounded by water. Certain areas have gates closed, so you can't go in them too.

Would I be able to have someone run me to droks? Since I see a lot of people spamming that in the chat rooms.

i don't really understand why you're avoiding choosing a secondary class, but you can't progress through NF without doing it. you also can't go to any other campaign (Prophs, Factions) until you reach a certain level with your character (not sure what level that is offhand) and it's pretty difficult to reach that level without progressing through the storyline. you can get a runner to droks from lion's arch at any level but if all you need is max armor, just get a ferry in kamadan to the consulate docks. you can get max armor there and i think it only costs about 500g for the ferry usually. i think i was level 2 or 3 when i got my ferry for my ele's max armor.

I thought it'd be fun! Sometimes it gets boring doing the same quests/missions all over again. And with titles, I thought it would be cool to get to the end of the game and still be just a ranger.

You actualy don't need to be a minimum level if you're R6 Sunspear, otherwise it's technicaly level 12 (The last +15 attribute point quest) I believe.

However, since you need complete 3 missions, and several primary quests (some of which involve lots of fighting), it's rather hard to be under 16 by the time you can actualy leave Istan.

Prophecies is the only campaign where you can move to any other campaign at a very low level, though that requires you to be run. I think you'd have trouble doing it under level 3 though (There's a challenge for you, get to NF and Cantha before you hit L3 from Proph), mostly because of required quests.

you actually can't move on to NF from Prophs at a level lower than 17. i tried it with my level 15 ranger so i could get some heroes and it wouldn't allow me until i reached level 17. so i just went to GWEN instead where the heroes are already level 20 anyway and you level much faster from fighting. don't know about going to factions though.

What about going to EoTN? You can do that at lv.10, right? Can my character go to EoTN at lv.10 if I haven't selected my secondary class yet?

Is it the latest fancy handicap? Completing the games with one Profession. I guess the worry of new players ending up not choosing a Secondary Profession is bigger than the tiny street creds of people showing off their single Profession at hard areas.

i stand corrected and i guess i i have to take my foot out of my mouth. maybe i got it confused with going to cantha from NF or something else. i don't know but sorry for any misinformation.

but in reference to beating the game early, i know you can easily beat prophs at a very low level. i've never done it but i've seen level 7's through 9's in the ring of fire islands. you just have to get a runner to thunderhead keep and do those last missions from what i understand but you still have to choose a secondary i guess.

i think you can go to EOTN at level 10 if you haven't selected a secondary yet. i don't see why not anyway but i don't know for sure.

could you not get a ferry to consolate docks and from there get a ferry to cantha/proph while still under 1 class? you still wont be able to get off istan island though since you cant do consolate docks mission without the pre-requisite quest. this may open the ability to do cantha/proph while still under 1 profession

Well this idea all originated when I didn't know what secondary to choose. I liked a bunch of them, and knew that I'd be locked in with them until I got to the other continent. So I thought that I could wait and see what other cool ranger skills I get throughout the game and then choose later on, when I have a much wider choose of skills for both my primary and secondary class. Why select a class now for a combo I can't do until I that other skill much later in the game?

Then I thought how cool it would look to just see R in my name the entire game.

No offense, but learning how to be good at the game seems more important than beating it without a secondary profession.

Afterwards you can worry about that.

You cannot move on any farther with primary quests, the only campaign you can do without a secondary is EN, where you just need to be lvl 10 to get to, other then that, you MUST get a secondary. If you can't decide, just pick one, you can unlock the other secondaries later in the game, but it is impossible to complete the campaign without a secondary.

The only way that it was ever possible was during the Nightfall Preview event, when they introduced the secondary profession switching by pressing K, then you could choose your primary only. And after the event, I saw many people far in the game with just a primary, many of which probably have a secondary again by now due to how helpful it is.

That might be important to YOU, but how do you know that is important to ME?
