Red face Tahnnakai Temple Mission, =/

After just making it to the temple, several times i might add, i tried one time to
do the mission to free 8 souls, knowing its a timer mission , just how hard is it??
i have 3 new hero's not greatly equipped, but working on it, took them with a
hench team, but failed, admitedly i was in a bit of a hurry just seeing was needed to do for the mission, has anyone done the mission, within the time
limit, and how many times ? - what is a best / good way to do it,

From experience, bringing an MM helps A TON. If you have a necro hero (like Olias for example) set him up as an MM, perhaps using the Sabway Jagged Bones build. If you can't run that specific build, just give him some minion spells like [Animate Bone Horror] or [Animate Bone Minions]. I'd stay away from [Animate Bone Fiend] because the idea is to have the minions serve as tanks and bone fiends aren't for tanking.

If you are a necro, you could run the above build and bring a nuker hero (assuming you have an ele hero) since you need to clear the rooms pretty fast. But you also gotta be careful about aggro. In this mission it can get pretty easy, especially in the later rooms, to overaggro and wipe.

Minion master helps a lot there, interrupter if you have one. Otherwise just be sure to pull the temple guardians away first then take out afflicted elementalists then monks, rest die easy. The choke point on the stairs entering the rooms is usually a good place to flag h/h to limit the amount coming past tanks/minions.

i would recommend going through the asura line of EOTN and getting Livia as one of your heroes and always use her in your quests/missions as a minion master. there are very few areas of any of the games where a MM doesn't help out quite a bit you may also want to just go ahead and beat EOTN before factions so you can have access to a few more heroes. also do the norn fighting tourney. you can unlock a few more heroes there also. at least this way you can pick and choose which heroes fit certain areas the best.

Nitpick but it's Tahnnakai Temple

Just be real careful not to pull too many, is my best advice. Those fire elementalists hurt!

i was about to ask "what temple is that ?", well you beat me to it omnidragon42..

yup those temple guardians hurt bad. bring BHA interrupter ranger hero, SF ele hero, condition spreader necro hero, and few henchies, you're done. you may have to rush if you aim to get master though. this is one of the mission that depends on the action of NPC (just like viz sq mission).

The timer really isn't that big of a deal. You can easily beat the mission with 15 miniutes to spare, since you get more time every time you free a soul.

The big problem with this mission is Mhenlo and Togo tend to charge into battle and get themselves killed. Severally places require you to pull groups, but Mhenlo and Togo make that impossible. The best way to do this mission is to have a human healer. Henchmen and heroes don't know to heal them.

You end up in the same room, so no it doesn't really matter. I just go for whichever i'm closest to.

yeah i wouls also reccomend the MM...

jagged bombers work very nicely ([jagged bones][animate bone minions][blood of the master][death nova])

also bring enchant removal &/or interrupts for [sliver armor] on the ele boss will own with minions attacking it

If you see me online, havent done it yet and I am free, I will run it for you (I have run 10 survivors through this and a host of friends). You may either come along or stand at the beginining and make a drink.

If you have got it done, then congrats or if you prefer to do it yourself, then Livia is a definite plus, as well as unlocking any skills you can for your heros to use too - you are at a bit of a disadvantage with not having all skills available to you (and being a Sin..lol).

I would have added you but apparently "Syn Wind" doesnt exist...

He cant use Jagged as he doesnt have NF.

I would also recommend getting pain inverter,(asura title track) in EOTN, I find that it destroys the ele boss pretty quickly.

I got lucky when I went through Tahnnakai Temple with a PUG* last night on my healing Monk** and I got lucky that Togo & Mhenlo somehow got linked to me and therefore stayed back most of the time rather than following the leader like they usually seem to do.

* A Leeroy Assassin and a Ranger, who was the party leader, with a pet - but no support skills for it - and a shortbow were the only problems, really.

** Wish I was good enough to do Protection, but I'm barely competent enough to keep enchantments up on myself where I can see the icon, much less estimate when they need to be reapplied on others.

I actually find that mission a lot easier to H/H than to do with real players. The trick more than anything is really just not to aggro too much. Flag all your henches or heroes back and pull, pull, pull!

Pretty much as everyone has said - take the Guardians down first but go carefully and try to pull them away from the rest then take the monk/healers away from the bad guys, they will drop pretty easy then.

As you have EoTn then you need to get to Gadds Encampment (unless you quest to get there you have to through Shards of Orr - not fun - unless you can find a PUG or run there) to get Livia.

You might also consider as you have Factions, changing your second and going to cap Golem (out of Senji's corner) for Livia to use. Put a Sup Death in her mask and either a Major or Sup Soul Reaping elsewhere then a minor vigor and a couple of attunement then some health giving insignia (Survivor, Radiant and one Minion Master).

Once you've done that - wind her Death Magic as high it will go, followed by Soul reaping and watch the L28 Golem tank! Keep Ogden with you to help heal her and then find a Me Shutdown build from PvXWiki for Gwen. If you go 'solo' then add a hench healer (for backup) then Cynn and whoever else - this should get you through most parts of EoTN and Factions and with some care and patience - even the Temple!

You shouldn't need to quest to get there - unless Shards of Orr is locked before you talk to Livia in Vlox's Falls? Other than that, there's only one other route - a route which is probably just as difficult, depending on your builds (Eye of the North/Olafstead -> Battledepths -> Heart of the Shiverpeaks (the very hard part) -> Bogroot Growths -> Sparkfly Swamp).

Anyways it's probably a better idea, if the OP decides that Livia's going to be necessary to get through the Temple, to just play through EotN to get there naturally, accumulating experience and skills (both player and character ) along the way. There's usually PUGs, assuming you find you can't do it with just Heroes (usually Ogden, Vekk and Gwen, probably Jora, at that point), going from Olafstead to Umbral Grotto and then through the Vloxen Excavations to Vlox's Falls. Then go back to Tahnnakai Temple to try again with your Heroes - the journey to Vlox's Falls, then to Gadd's Encampment, will give plenty of time to get used to having Heroes and to tweak them so you get builds that work for you.
