Exclamation Urgoz's Warren

So, what is the deal with this elite mission? I went there to try it and it was exactly EMPTY. You couldn't find a PUG there if your life depended on it. I'm just going to assume that the Luxon elite is just as EMPTY. My God, you are allowed to take twelve people, TWELVE the place was EMPTY! This is worse than trying to get a dentist appointment. In three months we might be able to find enough players to go.

My thinking is that this is pretty silly and something needs to be done about finding ways for players to actually play in these areas. As it is now the minimum PUG would need 3 players and all of their Heros. The place was EMPTY you could not even get one other player to try it. Yes, if you have a big guild you might find people willing to try, but not everyone has a big guild. You might be able to find one other player to go but you can each only use 3 hero's and since henchies are eliminated you are pretty much sunk before you start. Having to make elaborate scheduled dates for playing is nuts. I thought the whole idea was to go someplace get on a PUG and go. No wonder everyone wants to use all heros.

Everyone complains there are not enough elite areas but since nobody uses these no wonder Anet isn't trying to create more.

Actually the luxan elite (the deep) have alot more activity than Urgoz. The main reason why theres no longer any pugs in Urgoz is due to the nerf of splinter weapon.

a) neither the deep nor urgoz is hard, even on HM. thats the most likely reason they didnt make anymore.

b) get an alliance and stop whining.

c) heroes

they should do an Urgoz/The deep weekend again though... that might make it interesting again.

Do not try to pug in urgoz, you are very likely going to be wasting your time.

It isn't appealing anymore to most people. It's easier getting a good guild with a decent alliance and ask around.

you are late to the game. everyone else has been there, done that a gazillion times and has moved on to new things. consider yourself lucky that you never had to pug urgoz, because it was usually not fun at all...unless you like 4+ hour nightmares.

nobody goes there anymore because the reward isn't worth the trouble. the end chest sucks and you don't get any sort of faction/reputation for doing it. and its so damn loooooong.

it has long lost its charm, and dungeons are the new urgoz. i'd like to see urgoz revived, but don't really know how it could be pulled off.

If the cookie is as old as Nightfall or EotN, I wouldn't eat it

I suppose one of the problems with Urgoz & The Deep is the fact you need 12 people, it takes too long to gather all those people, both for pugs and alliances. So when guilds/alliances do a trip, they plan it in advance.
And speedclear groups only take experienced speedclear players I guess (which usually is an alliance undertaking anyways, in this case).

And in comparison the rewards aren't also as good as UW or FoW.

Oh, and the access isnt as easy as FoW, UW, DoA, Slavers, TopK or even Sorrow's Furnace.

guess ill suggest the same thing i suggested last time this subject came up: why not just make both Urgoz and Deep the missing "God Realms" and make them 8 player compatible. That way we will only have 1 missing god realm instead of 3, easier access to both Urgoz and Deep, and they can do a lil bit of reworking of the zones to make them work with 8 players and allow the zones to give better rewards.

However, the major issue i see with my suggestion is that it takes away the Major Town ownership reward for owning House Zu Heltzer and Cavalon, plus it would make it so that they are no longer Factions only Elite zones.

Pugs go for something that's fast, easy to pug, and has good rewards. For a pug, urgoz isn't fast, isn't as easy as other elite missions, and has worse rewards. Pugs can now farm voltaic spears in what, 10-15 minutes, and can farm UW chest/ecto in under 30 minutes, easily. Compared to Urgoz, it's much better.

There is one solution - find a PvE guild that does elite missions.

If you reward them, they will come.

My concern is that there are huge areas of the game that are sitting empty from apathy. Can't something be done to make them more attractive and accessable to more players. How hard is it to make the rewards more desirable? If finding other players to go with is the problem maybe let players use 5 hero's then you could go with 2 real people. Revitalizing these and other areas would bring new life into the game. It's not just these 2 elite missions in Factions, it's the PvP here too. If we cannot have new content why not improve what we do have.

Yes, you have been there and done that but some people have just purchased the game and might enjoy actually playing.

They could give them better rewards, but after awhile they'd be dead again due to the fact they take longer than other elite areas to complete for a pug. Allowing humans to take 5 heroes in urgoz wouldn't make much of a difference for pugs, because 2 humans and 10 heroes doing urgoz is unrealistic for a pug. Bringing in better rewards isn't going to bring new life to the game, it's going to make the area attractive for a few weeks until prices of the new items drop, and people go back to easily clearing UW/voltaic farm.

People who just purchased Guild Wars are going to get the shit end of the stick from now on, because Guild Wars is a dying 3 year old game with no new content, whether you want to hear it or now.

I never did get around to completing Urgoz (pugs put me off for too long) and its something Id like to do along with the Deep to get the trophies for HoM.
Unfortunately though, what Arkantos said is true - without something significantly desireable in the end chest or unless ectos start dropping like Glit dust down there, then its going to remain very quiet for the rest of the GW life.

Nobody seems to have mentioned that it's often times best to go to the International District in Urgoz or The Deep - you are more likely to find people there (or, at least, you used to be.)

Well, there is a pug forum around here someplace. How about starting a post there and see if someone who is already familiar with the place can join up and lead a pug thru.

Set a date and time and ask for the specific builds you need. You can probably attract at least 8-10 people from here that would like to do it. 2 have already posted in this thread.

Yeah in deep theres usually few pugs going on and in Urgoz like 1 orso at evening, but just get a guild/ally that does things like that, Urgoz is best elite area in game imo, thats why i do it every week without problems getting group, Guild & ally Ftw
