if you feel u need that big of a dmg reduction, just look into a -2 -2 shield..

ive done this run even without a shield with dmg reduction, without eiher dolyak or
watch urself.. its not that hard
Just for the record, I was not advocating actually using that wand, as the only thing its good for is running...

And I much prefer the +10 armor sword

Just so I clear this up..

I can run to the spiders fine and I have all the skills required.. it's fighting them I find hard.. Am I supposed to kill all the Doubter Dryders at the start of the cave? or simply ignore them and fight the spiders? I'm unsure .. Sorry.. please help me with this providing a screeny too would be helpful.

My weapon/shield is
Zealous Chaos Axe of Shelter
max dmg 9 axe mastery req
+15% dmg in stance
+7 vs physical
1/-1 zealous

Max armor 9 tactics req
-2 dmg recieved in stance
+45hp in stance

My skills are: Cleave/Cyclone Axe/Exe Strike/Dismember/Watch yourself!/Phys Resist/Heal Sig/Shields Up!

Any opinions on my equipment?

You need to lure the Dryder's away with a longbow, then kill them, then spawn the spiders and begin killing them.

You need a longbow.

You don't really need shields up with everything else you have. And Sprint is as much for getting away from spiders if something goes wrong as it is for getting there (at least at first). And I'd drop dismember as conditions really aren't effective against the spiders.

I've used both the collectors Crimson Carapace Shield and the Geoffer's Bulwark for this. I haven't really noticed a significant difference.. I'm unsure whethere the +10al vs. Piercing is greater than the -2 dmg reduction from the spiders, however, the +hp stance condition is a real pain, cause its usually when you NEED the HP (and about to die) that your enchants, stances, etc. wear out (because unless you die by poison, most attacks deal 0 dmg with phys resistance and watch yourself). Geoffer's has a +30hp always boost, and is pretty cheap at 15k, so its not necessary, but I'd say its slightly better.

I posted my build in another FoW thread started more recently, so I figured I would post it here too for the hell of it. I never understood why people use builds that use so many skills for defense. The build I use only has 2 defensive skills and I can tank an infinite number (literally) of armored cave spiders. It can also be used as axe or swords by simply alternating skills, gear, and attributes.

Hundred Blades/Cyclone Axe
Standing Slash/Cleave
Silverwing Slash/Penetrating Blow
Galrath Slash/Penetrating Chop
Healing Signet
Dolyak Signet
Physical Resistance
Sprint

Strength 15
Swords/Axe 15
Tactics 9
Inspiration 2

I use 3 superior runes (yes I am crazy) to achieve these attributes and never take any damage even while using Healing Signet. For the run I remove the superior weapon and strength rune and wear a HoD helm. I use Legionnaires armor for the extra armor while in stance and the desert collector's Crimson Carapace Shield that provides -2 damage and +45 health while in a stance. So all in all I have 350 health while in a stance and heal for 107 whenever my health gets to around 250. When fighting the stick men on the beach before you get to the cave you don't even need to use dolyak sig to take zero damage from them. I also use the typical zealous/defensive sword or axe. With this build I have been able to out damage 2 simultaneous healing springs, and, like I said before, can tank as many spiders as you will ever encounter. I love killing all 3 of the dryders at the mouth of the cave and then taking on all 30+ (or however many) spiders spawn. IMO this is the most effective and efficient build for the FoW spider cave.

sup runes are not needed i do it just fine with
12 str
12tac
10sword
4ins

so with dolyak and phy res u get a total of 74 more armor so what good it a defencive mod on the weapon 5/7 aint going to do much ,might as well got for a fortitude as only the poison will take helth

and for weapon i find the crafter +5energy sword cuztomized for 20% works best

The problem I have is no IAS stance, and you still have to use Healing Signet to heal. It really cuts down on the speed overall.

dunno if youve tried this yet racthoh, watch yourself can be dropped from your frenzy build if you wear legionaires armor, it is still enoguh armor to easily take the run, could replace watch with silverwing as i did. the added bonus of dropping watch yourself is you can then drop your tact points into strength instead, bit mroe armor penetration and a longer sprint.

I actually dropped Balthazar's Spirit for Silverwing Slash. The adrenline gain is very minimal with it, and the excessive amounts of energy for Frenzy and Healing Hands (the only two energy skills you're using anyway) can be maintained with a Zealous sword.

Once I free some storage space, I might craft some legionnaries... but I would also need a strength based shield. Oh well, it works well enough now.

He's calling you a nub.

But, then again, the post you responded to wasnt from all that of an intelligent person, either.

[who the hell looks at a 1,400 post thread and asks the original poster, basically, "can you repeat whats in the first post?"]

Sorry, I'm just used to people ridiculing others based on their post count/join date in other forums I go to. This also might surprise you, but their IS this thing called sarcasm.
