-After your first spell, you should usually use block, since the enemy will use one of his big spells first. Pay attention to the recharge on the important spells, you'll want to save your block/interrupts for them.

-Never use glyph of concentration. If you time an important spell to cast right as the enemy casts a spell of its own, it will almost certainly succeed.

-Earth elemental is stupidly powerful once you get one.
This is good advice overall. At first I was having an extremely rough time, but once I started focusing on what my opponent was casting, it was a lot easier. Knowing when to interrupt and when to cast your own spells is the most important part of this.

The one thing to be careful of is, although the enemy starts with GoC, you better make sure you get your two second spell off the split second the match starts, or itll get interrupted anyway. I was having trouble with this. So I just normally started off with the 1s spell (not the spammed one, the one with 20s recharge)..then I waited til my spammed spell got interrupted (or at least attempted to be interrupted), and then hit the 2s spell.

It sounds crazy, but once I followed this I actually got through every fight after a couple attempts even with a high > 400ms ping.
I highly advise NOT taking this approach.

I would agree under normal circumstances, but what biofrog is recommending only applies to high-ping scenarios where latency doesn't give you the chance to selectively interrupt. By the time you see the incoming uber-attack, your power-block won't apply until 4+ seconds later (much too late).

But he's also just advocating button mashing your 3 main skills. I'm not going to cast my best skill out of the three, until one of the others gets interrupted. I haven't experienced lag while playing polymock, but I'd imagine that the lag isnt bad enough that the AI could interrupt twice in a row.

The AI can interrupt three times in a row, if one of his main skills is also an interrupt. :/

I finally defeated Blarp.
I used this sequence:
Fire Imp, Gargoyle, Kappa.

The meteor of the Fire Imp can interrupt enemy skills, so with some luck and timing, you can interrupt the "big shots".

With all 3 pieces I used the "block" skill every time it recharged.

I did eventually get him however, and all the others after were much easier; I even managed to use no other pieces from what you win. I think through pure frustration the only answer came to me, so here's my high-ping-guide to Polymock:

* The first couple shouldn't be too difficult as they use fairly simple pieces
* Gargoyle, Fire and Ice are your most damaging to kill Blarp
* GEK - Start using Gargoyle, Earth Ele, Kappa after Blarp
* Interrupts are a bonus, don't expect them
* Don't move; due to ping you will most likely miss the opportunity to dodge
* You win by spamming out damage faster than they do, nothing more
* You WANT to have everything recharging! If you do not then you aren't doing enough to win!

* Start with Block, then Concentration, then your most damaging skill
* Regardless of if they might block or not, if your damage skill becomes available, hit it again
* damage skills > block or interrupt > weak skill, always use that order
* Repeat:
- Once you get under 6 energy, use block/interrupt then spam your weak skill until 0 energy, if you are under 50% hp then use power glyph then weak skill
- Use recharge signet, then block, concentration, damage skill

* Don't even LOOK at him/his skill use! Just watch your bar, and if a skill recharges, USE it!

It sounds crazy, but once I followed this I actually got through every fight after a couple attempts even with a high > 400ms ping.
It seemed crazy when I first read it, but I tried over the weekend and it works very well. Don't think of it as pvp, think of it as pve. Overwhelming power kills. Use block or the concentration glyph to cover your big hitter (meteor, lightning orb etc) and then put up block whenever it recharges. Ether sig when you have no energy. Glyph of power when you can. But most important is spam 1 like your life depended on it. Don't even bother kiting, time spent kiting is time not spamming 1. Time waiting for interrupts is time not spamming 1. You can beat blarp with this, not pretty, but you win. After that, it's actually pretty easy. And after you get the earth elemental you practically can't lose. That thing is probably the best non-gold piece in the game. And then you can give Hoff a taste of what it feels like to come up against 3 elementals

Anyway, thanks for the idea Biofrog (and think Moloch Vein suggested something like that as well). Got me pass Blarp who is the toughest polymock opponent for me, and I'm now the proud owner of 4 summons. Only level 14 summons, but have them all the same. Course if you have a more reliable ping, then sure you can try to play with more tactics and timing. But for bad ping, constant and unrelenting damage is the way to go. All you need to do is beat Blarp, the rest is easy. Goodluck all.

i'd rather not cast 2 or 3 100 dmg spells, and block my opponents 800 dmg spell.

As long as you land your 800 damage spell then it doesn't matter if you block or not. If you block, then its a good advantage, if you don't then you're level and will get ahead by spamming damage. Also, constant spam will absorb all his blocks and interrupts so you can land your big hit easier.

Try it and see. I thought it was stupid at first too, but it works. Go tourney or common rules, I've beaten hoff pretty easy with this. For the hoff quest, I beat him and lost only a single piece. You'll be surprised how going against everything you learn from pvp works for this. Works with bad ping and should work with good ping too.

Don't know if this has been said before, but losing one Polymock piece in battle counts as:.....1 DEATH

So all survivors avoid this at all costs, or at least untill it gets fixed.

If this wasn't made clear somewhere else would someone pls take the effort to put a warning out there in the correct section.
((((((((

edit: Seems you accrue one death from taking damage after your piece has been defeated.
Still testing this to make sure how and when exactly.
Finished Polymock quest line with my main char staring at 1988 deaths, currently at 1991

I have good ping, and I couldn't even beat the first guy until I started looking at their skills, and anticipating future attacks. If that approach works for you, then more power to you.

Are you using the order recommended on the gw.gameswiki site (skale/fire imp/gargoyle)? Or the order recommended on the official wiki site (fire imp/skale/gargoyle)? I think the gw.gameswiki site order is a typo. Starting with the skale makes it much more difficult than it has to be. Once I realized that and changed the order (to fire imp/skale/gargoyle), I defeated Plurgg easily.

I'm stuck on fonk, the first time was the easiest ironically, i got through to the wind rider, but was puzzled as my fire imp (as directed by most websites and guides) got whupped. why use it? i know that meteor is a good skill, but as i can't dodge the wind rider i have to stand there and take it while it recharges.

Red face Polymock Tips [Merged]

I've heard ppl say that the easiest way to beat polymock is simply to get 3 gold polymock pieces. Do you still have to use a BIG strategy or is it simply the overwelming HP advantage? And which three would be the best choice? I have the gold fire piece atm.

I've only gotten the stone rain gold piece (lucky to have found it in dungeon) and used two purple ones that was enough to get over and done with.

To me it was a breeze after, doing it normal with my ping was just not possible!
And the foes cheat!

Stone rain has good skill to disable glyphs

For me, only the third opponent was difficult. Once I managed to get past him with the pieces available, the rest of it was a breeze. And if you get some extra help, I'm sure it's even easier.

Polymock is very easy no need to buy gold pieces... If you can't do it yourself then use the guide on wiki.
