I have had her chase retreating enemy off of radar even when she is flagged. She can be a bad monkey, and the devs need a little look at her AI

You know that Attack option in Hero Panel? Well I asume warrior henchies are set to Attack so when you ping a monster or even click on it they're probably triggered... those problems I have... not sure if you mean while you're going somewhere that they just run and aggro (don't have those problems)

Hey she maybe doing that but most AI are all doing that their programming is different that is all.It is unlike the other camps.I always liked Devona esecially in NF to get free run here and there or in Kurzick/Factions.

I have to noticed the AI being sloppy lately hero/hench.They could use a little bit more buffing.

Flakey H/H has always been something I've usually just "dealt" with (Zhed's tendency to front line, Lina's wanding to death, Mehnlo's refusal to cast), but along with the many stories coming to the fore here, I have to agree that the instances of Super-Leeroy Idiocy are becoming more frequent.

Zhed and Norgu are two my "favourites". I have witnessed not only my Zhed, but my husbands, run well off screen or far into the backline of a mob.

But my most recent favourite event was Abaddon's Gate HM. Despite flagging, and swapping between Attack and Passive, Norgu decided to run in the complete opposite direction of our retreating team, placed himself well behind Abaddon (who had by then "disappeared") and proceeded to die quickly. He was as far to the edge of that map, behind Abaddon's area, as someone could possibly be.

It's just mind boggling to watch a green dot run in the opposite direction.

I do find it interesting, sifting through all the threads lately discussing the H/H AI, that people have issues with different heroes and hench. For example, I don't have a problem with Jora, Devona, Talon or Dunkoro, whereas others have interesting stories where they do.

I've noticed Devona's recent desire to charge into increasingly bad situations as well. Maybe she's been hitting the dwarven ale in town. Even worse is that at times the hench monks will completely ignore me. The rest of the team will be at or near full health. Meanwhile I'm at death's door, poisoned, diseased, possibly blinded, definitely depressed, and they aren't casting *anything* on me. I'm having to rely exclusively on self heals at times, and that is not right in a party with two monks.

The same thing happend to me, but with Master of Whispers o_O And later with Razah. Like wtf are they doing? It's really pissing me off, since I was in Forgewight and aggroing too much Burning Spirits and Flowstones... well, it hurts.

Maybe this is ANet's way to bring back PUGs, since so many people complained about lack of human parties ...

Wouldn't surprise me. They seem rather heavy-handed in regards of getting people to play Anet's way despite claiming the opposite.

My thoughts exactly. It won't work. I'll still drag even the most stupid of hench through the toughest of missions. They'll still be better than most real people.

Well, it's not working so well. The heroes and henchmen are still smarter than the average human player and they don't whine and swear at me.

This is sort of off topic but in the general area concerning AI.

I've stopped using the Hero monks because they have stopped healing, protecting, or what ever you want them to do they stand there and watch you die. WTF

I have since replaced my hero monk with Xandra. At least she cast her spirit spells which help the hench monks keep us all alive.

I flag and pull with H&H so I have not noticed them running off.

I don't use the melee Heroes or Henchmen. My Leeroying around is more than enough to keep everyone in the group busy without adding to it.

LOL, very funny stories. My problem lately is with Vekk. Even when he is flagged, he runs to aggro a group of foes and bring them to our location.

I noticed Vekk's tendency to tank, but I quickly learned to deal with it. ^_^ I am Vanquishing and just farming in Old Ascalon in HM right now (great drops) and I use Dunk as a LoD Healer, MoW as a MM and Vekk as a Nuker. I'm a Ranger, so I usually flag Dunk and Vekk into position, and have MoW follow while I lure. Then the mobs hit the Minion wall and we can just destroy them.

It's worked well so far.

I noticed that Vekk and Jora are much more agressive lately. I select an opponent, hit SPACE and Vekk is already running ahead with Met Shower casting. Of course, he gets surrounded and stepped on.

Flagging him works.

I almost never use Warrior henchies, so I didn't notice Devona's change in attitude. ^_^

Targeting priorities are a bit off, though. In the 4-man team I use there isn't much to say, because the minions go for the closest enemy and MoW has no attack skills. Oh, he uses Dark Bond all the time, so maybe that problem is related to Olias only? However, Vekk always goes for Monks first, despite me calling a different target ahead of time.

Oh, and he's really dumb about Backfire. He'll get himself to 10% health by casting under it, and then run to the enemy to wand >.<
