Default Ring of Fire HM

If you're taking the bonus route, how do you defeat the second group of two seals of ether... not the first two just after you cross the bridge, but the two up the stairs. I can kill everything guarding them, but in HM they just pound my group... even at a distance.

There are several things to keep in mind while fighting Ether Seals:
1) The groups around them can be pulled (sounds like you're already doing this)
2) They deal only Lightning damage with their spells
3) [[Chain Lightning] and [[Mind Shock] cause exhaustion, so eventually the seal will run out of energy
4) Ether Seals cannot move, and thus are vulnerable to AoE damage

The best tactics I have found is to bring a tank with [[Mantra of Lightning]. This will both significantly reduce damage as well as augment the tank's energy while in the degen. Bringing [[I am Unstoppable] will help prevent the KD from Mind Shock, and help boost the tank's armor for more survivability. Have the tank persevere until the Seal is overcome with exhaustion, and then have the party charge in and hit it with everything you've got. If you have a Mesmer (or hero) bringing interrupts can also be effective since the Ether Seal has no spammable spells. Furthermore, [[Wastrel's Worry] will deal significant damage over time, since the Seal has Natural Resistance like Tyrian bosses that halves the duration of hexes and conditions.

If you're at the part I'm thinking of, there's a "safe zone" up and to the right past the 2 seals inside the gate. You have to run past the 2 seals to the safe spot, then regen. From there, they can't hurt you, and you can assault one seal until it's down, then regen and go after the other. Just be careful of the patrol that is nearby.

This. Although be careful of the gruops of Jades/Mursaat that patrol behind there. There is usually at least 1 group that will patrol close enough to attack you, and a second that typically sees yuo when fighting the first. Make sure to clear them out before taking on the Ether Seals or you will be hit from behind while dealing with low energy from the Ether Seals.

Did it. Thanks. Just before I wrote my question, I ran to the pocket of "almost safety" just north of those two towers but got wiped by the patrol. So after reading your posts, I went back, and I lured the patrol outside, killed them all and then went back into the pocket of "safety" and took out the ether seals. The rest of the mission was easy.
