Texmod is a program that changes textures in Guild Wars. In the case of Cartography, it changes the map and fog textures to show you exactly where you need to go in order to reach 100%. While it is a third party program, it has been deemed safe to use, so don't worry about being banned stictly for using Texmod. The main program, and instructions on its usage, can be found . The mod files can be found here. There are several wonderful mods listed, and you can load more than one at a time. The Cartography mods are listed under the UI section.

Texmod is a tool where you can search for textures in Guildwars (or any game) that you have loaded into memory and save them to a specified location to modify or keep or do whatever with and you can also mod them in ways and package the modified textures to run in game.

Texmod is 100% Fine and NOT against the EULA of Guildwars from ArenaNet, though they do not support it (in case you break your game they cant help you, just reinstall, but texmod doesn't really break the game) and they also warn you of programs that are 3rd party that contain trojans to steal your password and also will not support you if your account gets hacked and you mention texmod. But again.. texmod is safe and "legal" and you will not get hacked. Texmod does not contain keyloggers or software, hell it dosen't even connect to the internet so there is nothing malicious about texmod. All it does is allow you to save and modify textures. The textures and mods are NOT permanent because you can actually launch them and close texmod, but they are only loaded into your memory which is why they will still run without texmod up, they do not touch Guildwars files so you can shut Guildwars down and restart it completely free of modified textures. I found this out myself with a few methods to prove it. I have also been using texmod for a couple years and playing for over 3, and can say this program has not maliciously harmed my game or account. Ever.

Here is the master page of texmod on the official wiki.

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Texmod

And the page of mods (in Texmod .TPF format files):

And finally here are some things texmod can do:

Cartography Mods

UI Mods (classic)

So you are going to benefit from the Cartography mod GREATLY if you use it. If you can see it from my screenshot it makes your uncovered areas show pretty well and its designed to show the very edges of the fog too so you can scrape some areas and know that you got all of it.

Not at all. Sorry if I made it sound that way. I taught myself everything I know about texmod so it shouldn't be hard to learn.

Basically.. Download it and the mod, open texmod (its an .EXE from a ZIP file) place it anywhere but keep the ZIP file backed up somewhere. When you run texmod you will want the part that says "Package Mode" but first you want to select guildwars from the top part. Then the TPF file for the package mode. It's quite easy, give it a go.
