Lets see the screenshots.
If I cared enough to beat Rotscale, I would. But killing a level 32 Boss for NO REASON aside for a Green that can be easily replicated, is extremely boring. I was simply giving suggestions to the OP for a build that would beat Rotscale. If you have problems beating PvE, it's because of your own inability to adapt a new build. There are 1200 skills in the game.... it isn't hard to find 64 that will win.

ehm...

found it rather easy. the key is plague touch... transfer to him the dazed condition you receive and he's just like a bone dragon minipet... he roars but cannot do anything.
even better, give koss (if u're not a warrior yourself) headbutt and plague touch so u transfer to rootscale your full 20seconds dazed... when dazed is over koss is ready to headbutt and daze him again.

llook at my hero builds, is pure shit, i wasnt even there specifically to kill him...

wow....yes, bring prot spirit and spirit bond etc.. because those both obviously block lifesteal from desecrate/defile enchants... People are certainly not the brightest lightbulbs in the box lately. Try armor increasing skills, a dervish can tank him quite well. W/Me with elemental resistance and dolak signet works nicely also.

Beat him easily with the aid of my friend that I have been vanquishing everything with. DP? bring four leaf clovers? Want to cry about having to purchase/use four leaf clovers? get out of hard mode then.

Rotscale is only as hard as the skills you bring. If you know you are going to face him....bring the correct skills. The End.

THANK YOU! That's what I was saying. If you can't beat Rotscale, you have the wrong skills.

People are certainly not the brightest lightbulbs in the box lately is very QFT.

you call wtf about no blocking life steal and then suggest armor skills which ... dont block lifesteal anyway.

Which suggest lifesteal is not problem at all. Which really isn't.

PS: pirit bond might not trigger from foc lifesteal, but it will trigger from FOC shadow damage.

Erm... desecrate/defile don't do any lifesteal. It's just shadow damage typed bonus damage.

You do realize that Shadow Damage is armor ignoring as well right? He also does double damage in normal mode as well as has half recharge and half casting time.

No, Spirit Bond does not protect against Shadow Damage. Just tested it out again to make sure.

with such a team it took us ~15 mins to kill him (only him, his cronies took another while). Wasn't easy but wasnt as hard as one could expect.

Ah, and playing when your country has Favor of the Gods is helpfull too. You'll get the +3 Hp regen blessing for 50g for you, AND your Heroes. Moreover, you will be able to buy off any DP. (+2 for 100g).

Another tip: I was able to kill the Skeleton Archers and the Necrid Horseman by just standing outside Rotscale's army aggro range, and kill them one by one using a Longbow. But maybe I got a lucky spawn.

Good luck!

(oh and I just Broad Head Arrowed him, while some a friend and some SF-Ele's kept a constant burning on him. Takes some time...and deaths...but he will go down eventually)

Can you 55hp Tank him?

... Some sort of UW style Spellshield 55 build maybe? .... Maybe a Mo/D with heinous regeneration and someone else on condition-removal duty.... or possibly a Mo/N with Plague Touch...

If that actually works, having everyone else outside aggro range, wailing on the bastard with broadhead arrows and whatnot should work fine.... right?

No, Shadow Damage is Armor Ignoring and ignores spirit bond and protective spirit. He can kill a 55 with one Desecrate Enchantments. Also, you can hit him with Broadhead Arrow as he is at the top of a mesa with a small stairway gowing up through it. So Rangers have to get closer and it puts them in arrgo range.

lol, nope. Can't 55 him. He has 'Desecrate Enchantments' which will hit you for Over 100 Shadow Damage, and that's if you only have one Enchantment on at the time, and if you have more than one add about another 50% to that, for each enchantment on you (given his attribute level) ...and since it's Shadow Damage stuff like 'Protective Spirit' won't do a thing to save you. Sure, you might be able to use like Spell Breaker and/or Spell Shield... but even with the ability to extend enchantments you'll still have a small opening in your defense, and if he hits you when it's down or you make the slightest mistake when casting or have any lag at all... you're more than toast. lol

stop being so silly, it's very simple.

-Protective Spirit
-Spirit Bond
-Infuse Health
-don't ball
-BHA or Concussion
-Choking Gas
-Plague Touch
-Spinal Shivers
-Spoil Victor
-Guilt
-Mistrust
-Backfire
-Spiteful Spirit
-Conjure Frost
-Winter

i don't recall our warrior taking more than 60 damage. i think you are mixing up lifesteal and shadow damage there. i'm not sure about shadow damage ignoring armor though, but if it did, both PS and SB would still work anyways. and i don't care when you say i'm wrong, ps worked on our warrior with him using desecrate (forgot to use Spinal at the start so he casted some and our ranger missed concussion)

it was easy, really easy, we did it without any deaths against him, his group was the actual problem (incendiary arrows HURTS!)

we did run 3 monks, but i can't say i really did any work to keep them alive besides casting PS and infusing when the other 2 got bored.

it doesn't require a lot of adapting tbh..

No, Shadow Damage is armor ignoring. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Shadow_damage Even shows it and it is easy to test.

I must admit I was wrong with Protective Spirit. Just did that one again and it reduces Shadow Damage. So does Shielding Hands and Shield of Absorption.

Spirit Bond does not work on reducing Shadow Damage.

As for your comment on people sucking at PvE, not everyone has a full team or real players to play with or all heros with all the needed skills. As for myself, never had an issue with Rotscale and never used Protective Spirit against him.

You can't 55 him, but Desecrate isn't the reason why. FoC is, which steals HP and ignores PS if you're suffering from a hex. Seeing as he has Malaise and has a Necrid Horseman with Barbs, he'll be stealing. Also, a 55 Monk can't deal enough damage to him even if he could survive, Rotscale has increased armor, HP, HP regen and 1/3 hex/condition duration. Oh, and Deafening Roar would Daze the 55 Monk, which combined with the near constant Incendiary Arrows from the Rotting Dragons, creates a whole new issue.
Basically, get good Monks to keep a tank alive while the others go at it. A necro with Spinal and AtB + a Winter Ranger is probably the best way to prevent him from casting.

why would you need to give suggestions for a build what would work?
its PVE, you said it yourself, its simple any build will work

or has it all of a sudden become diffucult again?

PS: they named it hard mode for a reason... not to make it simple is my best guess
