Unhappy Gate of Madness help

Having a lot of trouble with this mission
I need it HM + bonus, 19/20 on my title.
A little bit annoying.
Don't really want to pay for a run.

Hi Nyshia Mael!

I've done this on most characters and can give u some help next time im on. It's pretty easy if u know the tricks also to do it H/H. Most of the mission is ok, few tips i can give u if u H/H it or even if u go with guildies:
  • When u reach the part where shiro releases his constructs flag ur heros back or tell the team to w8 a little further down the hill. Run up and trigger Shiros speach and run right back down as he makes it. The constructs will run up the hill and u can just walk through the doorway to begin closing the portals.
  • When closing the portals take your time and watch the agro, I found when doing this in HM it was best to kill the grp at the portal or to take out the biggest damage dealer and then rush the rift wardens or w/e theyr called to close the portal, just remember to take your time and pull if u can and it should go more or less pretty good.
  • Once all the portals are closed stand way back and dont trigger shiro or the Lich's speech. This is where heros and hench come in handy A LOT. Open your mission map and flag them at the 5 shrines 1 at a time. If u have a full H/H team they will cap the alters pretty fast and u will receive the message saying bonus completed. Don't worry if u lose the effects of any of the shrines, you only need to cap them once. I used this method on my assassin and it helped tons (Don't worry about the heros dying on the way to the shrines, so long as u dont trigger the speeches Shiro and The Lich will not become hostile).
  • Once all alters are capped flag your heros back to your position (which should be at least an agro bubble and a half away from the doorway if not further just to be safe). They'll arrive there soon. Once they do its time for you to play your part. The best way to deal with this is the same as NM; fight them one at a time. To do this, keep your heros flagged back and walk towards the door, triggering the speech and turning them hostile, as you approach the door stick to the right hand side! Hug the wall nice and tight and take baby steps down it towards them. If you do this right the Lich should rush towards u pretty fast, begin walking backwards making sure not to lose his agro. If you do, just repeat the wall hug until he comes for you again.
  • Now u have the lich near the doorway, flag your heros to one side of the wall (try and keep them behind the wall so the lich cannot hit them) and kill him asap. After hes dead all u need to deal with is shiro, this is where your blind will come in handy a ton. I kept him blind almost the entire fight using sneak attack following up with wild strike, Although as ur ele im sure ul have other ways . Anti melee works a charm on him as u would expect. For shiro i recommend taking a melee with some form of stance removal (helps so much <3) just keep him blinded and make sure his stance is removed ASAP and his health should go down pretty fast. I also suggest u (or an ally) take Pain Inverter and use it on him near death when he uses impossible odds. Remember tho that this skill also removes a hex as well as transfering his conditions to whoever he hits so take care. If u get it in time so he doesnt remove pain inverter or force a hero to cover ur hex Shiro will blow up and TA DA u got ur title

Get to Shiro/Lich by careful pulling, once there completely ignore shiro. Kill Lich quickly and flag ur h/h to each shrine so they dont attack shiro, h/h wont attck until they reach the point so keep flagging them around the shrine until its captured(repeat on each)

For setup, i was a war so i used warrior's endurance+wild blow and sabway, both monk hench earth and paragon

We succeeded (3-man heroway) with Shiro first too, our logic being... The lich hits harder, but it is so much easier to make him bugger off by getting behind the shrines.

O-Ren, you mean that if your heroes (and not you) go thru the doorway, capping the 5 shrines, Shiro or the Lich won't attack them or you? Thanks.

Edit: I just noticed the wiki this as an exploit. I think I might try this when I try to get my toons to this mission.

First, I do realize that the original post was made in June. I just want to post this up for future reference .

As for the mission, I actually found it easier on HM than on NM because of all the extra PvE skills and heroes I had access to when I came to do it on HM. The builds I used (as an ele) was centered mainly on single target lockdown, damage and blind. I can't recall it exactly, but it had had something along the lines of... Blinding Surge, Lightning Orb, Chain Lightning, "You move like a dwarf!", Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support, Gale or Lightbringer's Gaze, Air Attunement, GoLE.

Although those knockdown skills above will have no effect on Shiro by themselves, the ritualist skill Earthbind will make him vulnerable to them. With this in mind my hero setup was two ritualists, one Signet of Spirits restoration support and the other a Reclaim Essence spirit spammer with Earthbind and Shadowsong, and an MM Bomber with Aura of the Lich (you can use other elites). I used the Illusion Henchman, Odurra, (VoR, Empathy) Cynn, (Herta is also a good choice) and Khim and Mhenlo to make up for the loss in healing power to make up my 8 H/H team.

There is enough damage to make it through the ordinary mobs, and once you get to the two big bosses, they will be unbelievably easy as you'll have them groveling on the ground with your skill setup. Paired with the armour ignoring DPS of your spirits constantly taking Shiro/Lich down, it should make the mission a breeze.

I had such a hard time with this mission as well. Get rid of the Lich first, and then cap all the shrines. Then lure Shiro to one of the shrines And have someone attack him and move the rest of the group away from him so they don't get kill by his attack that hits adjacent foes. Then just kill him as you would.
