Aw man. You just know ANET's gonna nerf this once they get wind of this. I mean, they did it with the Paragon/Ranger/Monk synergy build a while back by completely slaughtering the paragon line cuz it was "too effective". Anything to stall while they work on GW2 I guess and this combo just makes things too easy.

This build is just plain crazy. Testing it out now in Hard mode and its insane! I really haven't taken the time to figure out how it all comes together, but it does and I thank you Sab for this great find. Kudos to you sir...or ma'am

Lol, if this is nerfed, then I will admit, it's time for me to move on from Guild Wars and Anet period.

if they nerf this synergy build they will be crushed by Livia's enormous rack!

ok so ive bin playing as the SS myself pretty straightforward and fun cause the minions tend to make most melee mobs cuddle up around em and make SS deal good damage aswell as minions going boom boom boom ^^

i used Razah as a spirit spammer with Recuperation, Union, Pain, Shadowsong, Energetic was leela? , creators boon ,and some others i forgot

works great

Update:

This setup totally rocks ... I finally figured out how to make it past that silly fourth wave in Glint's Challenge ... which was just to change one of MY skills (ranger as ritualist but worked well) ... lively was naomi for aoe rez when half group got wiped ^^

I've been playing GW religiously since beta, and I'm not down with all of the "Anet hate", but the above statement rings true. This isn't deserving of any sort of nerf, because it's just a creative team configuration utilizing many different necro strengths. And, as far as I can tell, it has a lot of flexibility.

Heh this build is Sweet I must say, tried some things with it. I play the SS necro myself and I use a water ele with some wards. Only drawback is when you run into a tough fight while your minions are dead. On shing jea island that ritualist boss OWNT me with his spirit rift (easily wipes out party + minions :P). In EO:TN it was awesome.

I played with a guildie in the dungeons with one other monk, 2 ward eles (water + earth) and a ranger and we just PWNED everything. I pulled an entire room of stone summit just to see what happened, my guildie was terified while we happily slaughtered them all. a VERY good thing is the spread healing, at least people will still get healed if your main healer is pressured.

The weaknesses of the build on its own is spike damage. I will try this afternoon with Xandra and some spirits (union, shelter, displacement etc. etc), it must be possible to eat the brunt of an enemy attack with those before finishing them.

Just lay into that boss with Pain Inverter. She'll be dead before she can get it off again, but yeah, you'll prolly be dead too. Still, you can just go back and mop up. Some of the most fun I've had with that skill has been going back to areas in HM and paying back all those uber powerful AOE bosses. Brings a smile to this old face.

Might be an awesome idea, I usually tend to stay away from pve skills because they feel like cheating, but hell, heroes and AoE bosses suck. When I'm still launching my attack she already got 2 rifts off.

Look at two other screen shots I have attached earlier in this thread - we took necro warder and did the same as you did - agroed entire room with the fire ele boss and simply slaughtered them all

The funniest thing still is that I get kicked from PUGs for refusing to play an Obsidian Tank, and yet we devastate Slaver's Exile with heroes as if it was a carpet bombing operation

I took this build to Slaver's and got pretty much owned. I didn't change anything from how the build was originally posted and I used all hero/hench. Was that mistake? What should I change?

Tanks are meh indeed ^^. There's pets and minions for a reason.

You will need extra protection because the build doesn't provide that. The heals aren't suited for big damage spike, so a ward, or some prot on top of it doesn't hurt.

Gave this build a test drive yesterday and man does it work wonders. I was running Flaming Barrage with two interrupts. I had the three necro heroes, two monk hench, Cynn and Talon.

Pretty much killed anything that got in our way, party wipe happened only once when the silly AI of the hench aggroed too many patrols.

Only issue I've found is the necro hero who is playing as a SS tends to keep running out of energy. Yet the other two don't.

Is there a reason for this? I've used the correct skills and attribute suggestions.

If you run a physical damage dealer, take [skill]mark of pain[/skill] instead of insidious parasite. Insidious tends to get pricey and heroes don't know how to use it well. mark of pain even gets sexier when you add a pet and/or an IAS.

I've tried to run this build a few times (thank you Sab!! ) and I have two comments to make:

a) How many monks/dedicated healers does everyone take on a 8-man party? I tried bringing the 2 monk henchies on NF, but it seemed a bit excessive healing and little damage

b) I've personally had issues with this build when facing a party with 2 healers. For example, when rescuing Razah, often torment groups either spawn with 2 Word of Madness or one of them casts "call to torment" and brings a buddy in. Any suggestion for these situations? (I stopped playing as a spirit spammer and went channeling instead, and ended up subbing the SS Necro hero for a BHA ranger, making the area much easier)

Just tried these builds in slaver's. Cleared Justiclar and Rand. Didn't have all of the health runes on all my necros, but turns out didn't need them. This build is amazing. Sometimes when my heroes almost die my heart skips a beat, but then his/her health jumps right back up and keeps on going. This works soooo much better than my usual hero setup.

And to note after reading how Lightbringer Gaze works on those stone summit in there, I decided to bring it along. Apparently it works on the stone summit, the Modniir (except rand himself), Burning Spirits, and those Rock elemental guys. That's about as far as I got. Unfortunately, those elementals in forgewight slaughter this build..... mostly because the heroes/henchies dunno how to get out of the savanah heat......

Ok I'll try that, but I do tend to run Conjure Flame + Barrage so would that work considering I'm causing Fire damage from a bow?

nope, that doesn't work indeed, but maybe you might wanna take [skill]splinter weapon[/skill] for the barrager? that's also pretty awesome extra damage.

May have to do that then. But then again I do have a Warrior hench which would benefit from Mark of Pain. Splinter weapon great for large clusters of mobs, but annoying otherwise. Also am I the only one who gets sick of reapplying it after every major attack
