Default UW / FoW Chests

Think I have this in the right spot, if not please move

I just recently started doing stuff in UW and FoW, but I noticed that when I finish a quest, a chest will spawn. Like in UW, a chest shows up next to a reaper. But when I click on the chest, it opens and nothing comes out or happens? Do I have to accept the quest reward from the reaper first, or are those chests just always empty? I got one where a chest & a black widow showed up, but the chest was still empty...

Those chests drop 1 item to only one of your party members; so you have a 1 in 8 chance of receiving something from them.

in UW u would have to turn in like all the quests for it to actually drop something..idk about fow but i think u just have to turn in the quest reward to get something to drop out of it

I'm assuming you are in there with Heroes. They also have a chance to get a drop from those chests, but you are unable to see that (just like regular monster drops, you dont see them dropping for heroes). That's why it looks like its empty. If you flag your heroes outside of radar range, the chest should not drop something for them.

Ah, thank you all very much I hadn't realized the chests worked that way.

Wouldn't worry about it anyway - I've flagged my heroes off radar before opening those chests and they're invariably crappy purples.
