Why do I epic fail at GW, I can only complete the first few missions. One of my characters is over a year old. I have Factions and Nightfall, is there something that I missed from Prophecies, or are there any good tips from some pros that would help?

Uhm.... How old your characters are have absolutely no effect on how well you play them. Give us more info on what exactly you're "epicly failing" at.

If you need more help on what to do, I advise using wiki.

We'll need A LOT more information from you in order to help you.

What is the character profession?
your level?
your current armor?
are you in factions or nightfall?
what henchman do you use?
do you use a particular bar most of the time?
did you do the extra attribute quests?
what weapons(depending on char) are you using?
whats the requirement & dmg on those weapons?
Do you meet the attribute requirement?
and any other information.

Or you might have to see if anyone can take the time to meet up with you ingame. I'm unavailable atm for another 5 hours or so. If you still need extra help, I can meet up with you ingame.

What is the character's profession? What skills you use regularly and what heroes/henchmen you usually take?

Also, what is the problem? You can't kill anything, die too much, etc?

Well I was hoping for some real begginers tips such as easiest class and camaign but I have a lvl 20 factions Ranger and lvl 4 nightfall warrior. (the main problem is I die too much) as soon as I hit the mainland in factions and not very far into nightfall. Sorry for sounding so unprofessional but I really want to make the most of this game, and it's starting to get me down a bit.

Ok this barely helps us help you.

Look at my above post and answer the other questions. Need to know what your current armor is and the armor bonus on the armor. I didnt quite ask that correctly in the previous post.

On your ranger, if you drop all your attribute points to zero.....look in the the little box above to see how many attribute points you have available to spend.

185 unused attribute points
Armour:320 (150 against elemental and +10 while attacking)
Wep: Sundering Darksteel Longbow (15-28 Dmg) (Requires 9 Marksman) Damage +35%

If you are saying you die a lot, it's probable that your armor is not max. If this is the case, then I suggest getting maxed armor at Kaineng and/or Consulate Docks.

Probably you don't have max armor, a good build, and you aren't in NF with Ranger, that means ur out with heroes too, that makes it harder. You must choose the right Henchmans, build, equipment, and it shouldn't be that hard to done some missions. Otherwise check www.pvxwiki.com for builds, and in mission find a people party (PUG).

armor from armorpieces doesn't stack

the max Armor rating you can have as a ranger (without insignias) is 100 (70 + 30 vs elemental)

Don't confuse him. Ignore this, Taldur.

The max BASE armor you have as a Ranger is 70. Ignore the +30 vs Elemental bit, that is always there for Rangers and is purely conditional.

Having said that, does your armor say "Armor: 70" at the top?

I assume you've added the armor ratings of all your peices to get this figure - GW's armors dont work like that, you have a chance to get hit per location and the armor peice where you get hit is taken into account - e.g if you get hit on the chest your glove's armor rating will not effect at all.
I'm not sure how you got the 320 figure from, but you definately dont have max armor, that can be bought at consulate docks or at Kaineng Center. Another problem could be your health.... what is your HP? Are you using too many major or superior runes? Try adding a vigor rune to your armor to increase that - majors are fairly cheap to buy.
sounds like you've listened to REDdelver and decreased your attributes to see how many you actually have to use - you're missing one of the 15 attribute quests from the Island.
Your weapon should be fine generally, maybe get hold of a 30HP for it, I know the PvP'ers would scream longbows are useless but for most of pve it dosent matter too much
The only other thing is what heroes/henchmen are you using? did you take healers? what are your hero builds?

I only have Tahlkora, Koss, Dunkoro and Melonni. All are on their default builds, and I cant find the missing attribute quest.

Well theres something wrong here.
Factions only takes 1 day to beat if you start at lvl1 in shing jea and work all the way through. Even less if you start in NF and just get ferry to docks then KC.

NF takes about 2 days.

This might be your problem, the default builds arent goos at all, if you're using talkora and dunkoro as your monks, its no wonder you're dying a lot. There are lots of hero builds on PVX wiki or you can send me a pm with your IGN and i can talk you through some. You'll probally need some faction though

the other thing you could do is look for a better guild in the game
on your factions ranger you will need to finish this next 2 quest:

*unwelcome Guests :get it from zunraa in SEITUNG HARBOR
*Lost treasure : get it from raithanem i think thats his name in RAM MUSU GARDENS

Doing this will get you extra 30 attributes.

Dont always listen to your guildies they might be retards

Read GuildWarsGURU forums ALOT will help you and make you a pro SRSLY
