Default Slaver's Exile - Duncan The Black! Tips needed!

Hi all!

I'm getting desperate now, i really want this last dungeon done but i can't find any useful tips on killing him!

I've tried discordway, it doesn't work.

I've tried not using discordway, it doesn't work.

I've tried degen, it doesn't work.

But, bare in mind this is with heroes since there's no one out there who is willing to go along with me to kill him.

Any tips would be appreciated! I will even pay for someone to "run" me to get it done.

Cheers!

My IGN: Glutos Maximus if you want to get in touch.

From what very little I know about Slavers', my understanding is that killing Duncan requires some sort of gimmick. It might help to know what profession primary you are, which I can only assume, from your profile, to be Warrior.

There is some information on the wiki on ways to defeat duncan, and an additional talk page on the wiki as well.

I think you will need at least one other person to go with you to bring three heroes.

Our setup was similar to this (I will name some key skills)

Me:

Ranger/Rt: Broadhead Arrow, Dshot, Warmongers Weapon, YMLAD
Monk Hero: UA
Monk Hero: RoJ
Necro/Paragon Hero: Blood Is Power, Can't Touch This, We Shall Return

Friend:

Rt/Assassin: Spirit Spam, Swap, Smooth Criminal
Necro Hero: Spiteful Sprit
Necro/Paragon Hero: Spoil Victor, Can't Touch This
Necro Hero: Discord (I think)
(one of his heroes had Signet of Sorrow)

Work your way to the far Northeast side of the ledge duncan stands on. Use the Swap skill to swap out all of the spirits on that side of the ledge to out of aggro range. Then you should be able to kill Duncan by standing outside of his spirits reach. His spirits do not die out so you dont have to worry about him making new ones, as long as you dont kill them.

Inflict Dazed on him by using Broadhead Arrow or whatever skill you have, and knock him down and interrupt him as much as you can. I also read that Smooth Criminal negates Dunc's Sprit Rift but i'm not sure how much my friend actually used it.

It was actually harder to get to duncan than it was to defeat duncan. But i assume from reading your post that you didn't have any trouble getting to him. We did it in HM and found the groups with 2 healers and a MM to be very difficult.

I hope this helps.

If I remeber correctly, before the meta for killing Duncan required a Necro/Assa with Swap(For spirits),Spoil Victor and Signet of Sorrow.

Slaver's exile isn't hard. Seriously, it's not. I've done it in HM at least 5 times in the past 2 weeks, and I can safely say that duncan isn't awfully deadly. The last time I did it I didn't even bother to swap spirits, just pulled him a little bit so he was slightly away from his spirits (3 or 4 still attacked, but whatever) finished duncan's dungeon in ~20 mins without cons on my warrior, with 2 monk heroes, a friend on her dervish, 2 rit heroes, and two heroes she brought... don't remember exactly which ones, though I know they were casters. Probably an elementalist and a smite monk or something.

2 UA monks and a few knockdowns work wonders.

You can totally hero/hench it, I've done so on my ranger.

I would however advise to spend the cash for consumables to save yourself some headache, without cons in HM it took me around 45 mins~ 1 hour. Though, that was within the first week or two of EoTN, and I didn't exactly have max rank... plus several things have been buffed, so you could probably H/H it without too much difficulty now. I haven't, because I've been too busy dragging other people through there.

I mean that for the inexperienced there and really I would rather only spend 15 minutes at most in an area if that means just bringing 1 buddy along and without need for cons.

I completed it.

Not by heroes though, one guy ran it with a shadow form build with consets.

Took less then 30 minutes, he was awesome running it!

Credit goes to "Crazy Daggerfighter", part of the [MoO] Guild.

That's him in action:

Unfortunately, Guild Wars has screwed me - it didn't record that i completed it into the dungeon guide or onto the map, it's still an "open" dungeon.

Even know i accepted the quest reward.

Duncan is actually relatively easy if you take the right skills.
The major skills I found I needed were Frozen Soil, for actually getting to him (Prevents mass res), Swap, for moving away his spirits, and then protective spirit. Once you swap out all of his spirits, make sure that you flag your heroes so only one can get hit with Spirit rift at a time, or your just asking for trouble, and then, either have them in a circle around him, with henchmen just outside his aggro bubble (taking a friend with heroes is much easier) or put them inside and watch for spirit rift on them closely. Take PI if you have it, and then use it whilst you have Prot spirit on yourself. Other than that, make sure you have prot spirit on your discorders for as long as possible. (Spiteful spirit also works with a few tweaks to the Sabway build). Of course, any cons you can get make it easier, but if you just take frozen soil and swap, (and possibly cant touch this [paragon skill to stop touchers] to help with all the spirits) its actually very easy to kill duncan, just make sure you watch out for spirit rift and micro prot spirit yourself
